Jemmie & Levvie

The whole room was silent, watching Clary carefully. No one wanted to leave in case something happened.

They waited for an hour after she had been stabilized but nothing changed. Finally Simon and Isabelle had to go check on the twins.

The silence in the room was broken by Clary, as she begun to cough harshly.

Her eyes flew open.

Jocelyn ran over to her bedside.

"Clary don't move," she ordered "are you okay? Can you hear me?"

"Yes, I can hear you," she whispers "why are you all in my room?"

"Do you remember hitting your head dear?" Jocelyn asks,

Clary shakes her head.

"What's the last thing you remember?" Jocelyn asks.

"Giving Sophie and Gabriel to Simon?" She answers tiredly.

"Alright, well you were fighting Jace and you were thrown. You landed badly, broke your wrist, and got a severe concussion." Jocelyn tells her calmly.

Clary's eyelids flutter and her eyes roll back into her head.

Clary floated in and out of consciousness as Jocelyn shooed Jace and Alec out of Clary's room.

"Isabelle, do you know what you have done?" Maryse asks her daughter angrily.

"You know what?" Isabelle replied angrily.

Maryse looks at her angrily.

"This is my life!" Isabelle says "If I want to be half vampire so I can be with my children, you have no right to tell me otherwise."

"I am your mother Isabelle Sophia!" Maryse shouts "don't you talk to me that way!"

"I am NOT a little girl anymore!" Isabelle said, her voice getting progressively louder.

"Then maybe you should act like it, and be responsible for one time in your life. Just one!" Maryse shouts, even louder than the last time.

Isabelle stands with her mouth open.

"So if you are so 'responsible', how are you going to tell the others? Huh? You're just going to tell them you're no longer a shadow hunter?"

Isabelle was about to say something my Maryse interjected.

"What will your friends think? Oh, and what about your father?" Maryse says shaking her head with disgust.

Isabelle looks at her feet.

"The Clave has terrible punishments dear; you think you will just get away without being punished?" Maryse adds.

Isabelle shakes her head.

"Exactly, didn't think that far ahead, did you?" Maryse face is smug.

"I can take anything they throw my way," Isabelle retorts.

"We'll see about that when you tell them." Maryse responds.

"Yeah, well, what if I don't tell them?" Isabelle said sneakily.

"That's not happening," Maryse said, "if they ask you will tell them, and I will make sure of it!"

Isabelle stared at her mother with disbelief.

"I will not lose the institute because of your childish decisions!" Maryse shouted.

"What do you want me to say mom!" Isabelle said "That I wish I hadn't of done what I did?"

"Is that the truth?" Maryse said.

Isabelle nodded, "I'm so sorry."

"You're sorry?!" Maryse said.

"I shouldn't have to run my decisions by you anymore!" Isabelle shouts

Jocelyn arrives and takes in the scene before her; she clears her throat loudly and they both turn to glare at her, "I think we need to calm down ladies."

Isabelle pales, "You heard that?"

"I heard enough," Jocelyn says. "Plus, I already could have guessed."

Isabelle runs a hand through her hair and slumps against the wall; Maryse crosses her arms across her chest.

"I suggest we take this to the library, where we can talk about this more privately."

Maryse nods tightly and turns on her heel, Isabelle follows slower than her mother, her heels sounding distant on the stone of the hall way. Jocelyn takes up the rear sighing at the mother-daughter duo; what was she going to do about them.
