Protecting, vice versa
Chapter 9: Some securities before we fight, ne?
This time, the fight has not truly begun. The last chapter was supposed to have them fight, but I had to run off to do something. I had the chapter name updated already, in the previous chapter. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE FEELING THE SUSPENSE.
By the way, this is NOT going to be the final fight between Gole Fenice and the Vongola, and NOT the final fight of the whole story. (Hint, hint.)
So, enjoy~
DISCLAIMER: Everything but storyline does not belong to me. Amano Akira owns Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
"The Gole Fenice offically..." he pointed his index finger at the group.
"...declare war on the Vongola."
With this, Tsuna decided to spout the questions in his mind.
"Why...school time?" he asked, wary about why Hicagen didn't choose to attack after school, which may cause more chaos and mayhem.
Hicagen smirked. "So that the many people that knows you well..." he pointed to the students all peering from their respective classes, "...will get to know your real identity."
Tsuna gulped. If his classmates and schoolmates got injured because of this, then...!
Gokudera, noticing the gulp of his beloved boss, whisppered, concerned; "Juudaime..."
Upstairs, everyone was gasping at the scene that awaited them all.
Some were too shocked; realising that a handful of their fellow schoolmates could easily end their lives in a flash. Some held anxiety; as to what cost the damages that were going to occur would cause. Some... simply fainted.
Kyoko squeezed through her classmates crowding around the window. Vongola Decimo... isn't it Tsuna-kun?! she thought, worry running through her head. Once she arrived at the window, her eyes looked down at the scene.
Gokudera; the storm of the Vongola, was holding many dynamites in his hand, ranging from small to big. His cat, Uri (rather ex-box-weapon) was on four paws, storm flames purging out of it's ears.
Yamamoto; the rain of the Vongola, had a sword perched in his hand, stance ready to go into any form of the Shigure Soen Ryu style. His two ex-box-weapons, Jirou and Kojirou, were alongside him, Jirou barking continuously on the left side of the swordsman, Kojirou flying in circles around his head.
Ryohei; the sun of the Vongola, had his bandaged fists held up in a boxing stance, to hit anyone that is considered an enemy. Kangaryuu stood as it always does, bright sun flames spurting out of its ears, similar to Uri.
Onii-san... Kyoko's eyes started feeling watery.
Hibari; the cloud of the Vongola, held up his tonfas, which were covered in purple Cloud flames. He was a distance away from the others, not liking to crowd. Hibird was perched on his head, while Roll was floating beside Hibari's right shoulder blade.
"Let me go! Lambo-san wants to fight too!" the Lightning Guardian's voice came two windows away. Apparently, he was hiding inside Tsuna's bag again, since he saw the troubled look on his nii-san's face. The students were holding him back, not knowing the importance of the afro-haired kid in the battle. Finally, somehow, he managed to struggle out of the many grips. Before he landed, said cow-like kid summoned his bull for a soft landing.
"Lambo!" Tsuna gasped in surprise.
Lambo simply looked at his nii-san with his green eyes, then grinned. "Tsuna-nii, Lambo-san will join your world soon, so Lambo-san shall fight with you." he said, voice shaking but still brave, eyes earnestly showing his willingness to help.
Lambo; the lightning of the Vongola, sat innocently on the bull, ignoring screams of horror from above. Gyuudon used a hoof and kept scratching on the ground, stating it was ready for action, as lightning flames crackled around its body.
Also a few metres away, were the mists of the Vongola, Chrome and Mukuro. Their tridents were grasped tighter as they recalled the situation from the previous night. Mukurowl was perched carefully on Mukuro's shoulder, mist flames making it seem slightly translucent.
Finally, the hooded boy standing in the middle of the readied mafiasos.
Kiyoshi Ryu... Kyoko shook her auburn hair. No. Tsuna-kun. Then she covered her mouth with both hands, blushing furiously. I-I actually fell for...! she looked out of the window, hands still covering her slightly pursed lips.
Tsuna, the sky of the Vongola, the 10th boss of the Vongola. His gloves burned brightly with pure Sky Flames, while Natsu kept 'gao'-ing, sitting calmly on the left shoulder of the brunette.
"Ts- Ryu-kun! Wait for us!" a red-haired boy slowly appeared behind the group. Tsuna turned around, slightly shocked.
9 people ran; 2 flew, ranging of different heights and sizes. Enma, Rauji, Shitt. P (Gokudera got a little sick), Kaoru, Koyo, Adelheid and Julie made up 7 of the 11 slots, them being the Shimon familglia. Byakuran came, smiling and humming a little tune while eating marshmallows, with Bluebell holding his shoulders, seemingly floating. Finally, Naito, both hands clutching Tekkos, and Basil, grasping his Metal Edge, sprinted.
This made up the whole group of mafiasos fighting against the Gole Fenice.
Tsuna pointed his finger at Hicagen, who was crossing his arms. "Hicagen Tomoquez." he mumbled. "How did you find out our identities?"
Hicagen jumped a little from that question, eyes widening a little, then went back to his cool state.
Seeing this, Gokudera questioned the blonde calmly. "Why are you jumping over Juudaime's question?" (Upstairs: -squeals-)
Hicagen cleared his throat. "I shall answer both questions at once."
"First, I analyzed your daily behaviours, your attitude towards school classes, and the things you do when you all are not in school." Hicagen announced boldly. "Then," he used his hand to cover his face, fingertips covering the edges of it. "I had the specialists in the Gole Fenice's elites," his fingertips slowly trailed down his face. "Collaborate results and find the strongest." His fingers reached his chin, then his hand dropped by his side loosely.
Hearing this, the guardians, all froze on the spot, the wind blowing behind their backs.
"...everything that we do when we're not in school?" Yamamoto double-checked.
"Everything." Hicagen announced boldly.
The guardians all looked at each other, and paled.
"H-hentai." Chrome whispered, head slightly down.
"Invasion of privacy rights." Gokudera nodded slowly.
"For that, I shall bite you to death throughly." Hibari clenched his tonfas tighter.
Hicagen blinked. "..What?" he peered at them.
"Everything outside school. Every single activity that we do." Tsuna spoke each word cautiously.
Hicagen nodded. "Yes, and..?" he eyed them closer.
"Kufufu...bathing times are an invasion of privacy." Mukuro snorted, looking away from the latter.
"...times when we are changing clothes too." Chrome blushed furiously.
"WHEN LAMBO-SAMA EATS!" Lambo shouted randomly.
In front of a stunned Hicagen, Gokudera scolded the cow kid; "AHOSHI! THAT'S NOT CONSIDERED AN INVASION OF PRIVACY!"
Hicagen held his hands up, panicking slightly. "No, it's not that but-" Cut off by raging Guardians, who are still thinking that their personal space bubbles were popped.
But...
"Tomo-chan, we'll handle this." came a pat on the blonde's shoulder.
Hicagen's eyes widened, as so did the 10th generation Vongola (except for Lambo who still didn't know what excatly was happening). A group of people landed behind, and beside Hicagen.
"B-boss..." Hicagen stammered.
At that moment, one thought, each seperate and of different words, ran through the heads of the guardians.
Tsuna; "Boss... he was the cause of the kills from Europe?"
Gokudera; "I will defeat the enemies for Juudaime."
Yamamoto; "What... Hicagen is a guardian?"
Lambo; "Lambo-san still thinks that Lambo-san's privacy was invaded!"
Hibari; "Those herbivores are disrupting the peace of Namimori. I will bite them to death."
Ryohei; "OH! THAT IS THEIR EXTREME BOSS!"
Mukuro and Chrome; "The...Mist Guardian of the Gole Fenice is back."
With that, the Mist Guardians went into their defensive stance.
Mukuro... Chrome... Tsuna's amber irises shook slightly under the hood.
"Bossu.../ Kiyoshi Ryu..." the illusionists spoke simultaniously, a slightly dark aura flowing out of them.
"H-hai?" Tsuna stumbled over his words, knowing that the Mist Guardians must have had some kind of contact with one of the Gole Fenice.
"...May we take action first?" they turned their heads around slowly, only to flash a sadistic smile.
Shivers filled the whole of Namimori High.
The person who Hicagen announced as 'Boss' stepped forward, shaking both his head and his hands. "No, no, thats not possible!" he said, laughter evident in his tone.
The Mist Guardians stopped in their tracks, lifting their heads so that their eyes met with the 'Boss', or what Hicagen had said. Rage burned in their eyes, making their 'Boss' sweat a little. The risk of the Vongola Guardians sure are scary... his eyes turned away from theirs. He then rummaged his pocket, then lifted up a paper.
"This is the schedule, on who you're going to fight!" he announced boldly, the other free hand on his waist.
Tsuna squinted his eyes at the paper, but it was too far away. "I would need to take a closer look at the paper." he spoke, boss aura flowing out of him unknowingly when he spoke the sentence.
With accuracy, the 'Boss' folded it into a paper aeroplane and threw it at the hooded brunette, slowly walking towards him.
Catching the slowly drifting paper and unfolding it, he slowly read the letters. One eyebrow was raised, and he looked up at the 'Boss' with confusion. The guardians, noticing this, crowded around the brunette (except Hibari who still hates crowding.) and their eyes, too, widened in surprise.
Looking up from the paper to let his eyes meet with the 'Boss', the brunette asked, a little bewildered; "What's with this sequence?"
On the paper, it contained words written in a slightly italiced English
Sky x Sky
Storm x Sun
Rain x Cloud
Lightning x Mist
Sun x Storm
Cloud x Lightning
Mist x Rain
'Boss' simply waved one of his hands up and down; "When you fight, you shall find out the meaning." and said this line.
Yamamoto was the second to look up from the list. "So, it's a game?" he questioned, brown eyes now turning serious.
'Boss' met his eyes with the swordsman.
"If this is a game, there are rules." the 'Boss' notified the 10th generation of Vongola.
Tsuna frowned a little. "If that's so, what are the rules?" he mumbled, reaching up for his hood so that he could pull it down further.
'Boss' lifted his hand, pulling down both his pinky and thumb so that his hand signified 'three'.
Tsuna smirked. "I'm guessing there's three rules?" the brunette spoke with slight amusement.
'Boss' nodded.
"Here's the first rule, all the guardians must fight at the same time, in different locations." 'Boss' grinned, and placed his fourth finger down, signalling two more rules.
Hibari opened one eye, a sign that he was starting to get interested.
'Boss' smiled ever so slightly. "Second; the boss can only fight once all the fights are finished." he announced, licking his lips slightly. He then placed his third finger down, signalling one more rule.
Tsuna frowned. He would see either the enemy's side dropping to his relief, or see...his own guardians... dropping to his horror.
Seeing his boss' face pale slightly, Lambo looked up, green eyes shaking with sadness. "Tsuna-nii..." he whimpered.
'Boss' blinked, yet it could send people running; slowly, yet a deadly blink. "Third rule." he murmured, sending all the attention to himself again.
"When the fights have finished, the remainding guardians may fight with their boss."
The Vongola side could be seen stiffening up a little, gaining some worry from the student upstairs who knew the real identity of the hooded boy.
A girl, looking no more than 10, tapped the shoulder of the 'Boss'. "Ne, Leoriko-kun," she asked with a slightly high-toned voice. "Which one is the Mist Guardian?" she pointed her finger at the 10th generation of Vongola, then swerved it from left to right and back again.
Upstairs... boys were simply fainting from the loss of blood over her kawaii-ness.
'Boss', now identified as 'Leoriko-kun', or so the little girl says, shook his head slightly. "You shall know later, Reina-chan." he smiled at the small girl.
Stamping her feet, Reina pouted. "NOW! TELL ME NOW, LEORIKO-KUN!" she shouted, obviously throwing a tanthrum into the whole tense situation. Everyone could only stare, as the girl kept stamping her feet in fury. And...
"Reina-chan." Leoriko used a tone which could be near compatitable with commanding. Hearing this, the little blue-haired girl quietened down, looking away in slight shame.
Seeing this, Leoriko turned back to the 10th generaion guardian, and clapped his hands. "Good! Now please head to your locations!" he announced happily.
A bird flew past.
"...Boss, what are our locations?" the unknown character in the green ring decided to make Leoriko realise his mistake.
Sweatdrop.
Scratching his head sheepishly, he laughed nervously, everyone staring at him like he was an idiot.
He pointed towards the school gym. "Storm of the Vongola and Hirashi-kun, please proceed to the gym." he announced, still with a merry yet sadistic tone.
"I WILL MAKE JUUDAIME PROUD!" Gokudera pumped one of his fists into the air.
Hirashi simply nodded at Leoriko, and proceeded to walk silently. Unlike the energetic Ryohei.
As Gokudera prepared to walk to the gym, a hand stopped him. Turning around, a red tick mark appeared on him; "YAKYUU BAKA!" he shouted, officially pissed.
Yamamoto simply laughed. "Maa, maa! We haven't done the usual thing yet, how can you just go off to fight!" the baseball player said heartily.
Usual thing...? Tsuna and Gokudera thought simultaniously.
Moments later, a ring of 6 people (Chrome was dragged in, Lambo sat on Tsuna's shoulder) was seen.
"VONGOLA FIGHT!" Ryohei and Yamamoto said cheerfully, not noticing the sweatdrops from the others.
And after Gokudera headed off, Leoriko pointed to the field. "Rain of the Vongola and Tomo-chan, please head to the field!" the orange-haired man announced, still using the same tone as before.
Silence. "Isn't... this the school field?" Tsuna pointed to the grass beneath their feet.
Leoriko sweatdropped. "RIGHT! I FORGOT!" he snapped his fingers.
Meanwhile... "Hicagen, you're the Cloud guardian?!" Yamamoto pointed at the smirking blonde, obviously surprised at the announcement. "I thought you were the top assassin of Gole Fenice!" Yamamoto laughed, ignorant to the noticable twitch by said assassin.
Hicagen shouted back, clearly annoyed; "WHY CAN'T I BE THE CLOUD GUARDIAN AND THE TOP ASSASSIN AT THE SAME TIME?!" he screeched, not noticing the stares at his sudden change of behaviour.
Noticing this, Hicagen looked around, slightly confused. "What?"
Tsuna waved his hand, like Leoriko when he just waves aside a problem. "Nandemonai, just ignore this." the brunette sighed.
Leoriko pointed to the school courtyard next. "Lightning of the Vongola and Iguras-kun, please head to the school courtyard~" now he was really like some emcee for some Heaven's Arena battle in floor 200. (Hunter x Hunter reference. Just take it as a super energetic emcee.)
Lambo pounded his chest. "Lambo-san shall make Tsuna-nii proud!" he announced bravely, though clearly, he was shaking.
Tsuna smiled softly, and patted the afro-cow kid's head. "Lambo, just do your best, ok?" he said gently, so as to comfort the young Lightning Guardian.
Lambo looked up tearily at his boss, nodded, and pointed to a purple bazooka sticking slightly out of his messy, uncontrollable hair. "Lambo-san shall use this if Lambo-san needs to." he proclaimed in a couple of sniffs.
Meanwhile, Iguras was recieving two very, very cold and piercing glares from the two napos.
Once the two shadows of Lambo and Iguras disappeared, Leoriko pointed to the left half of the school rooftop. "Cloud of the Vongola and Mitsu-kun, please head to the left half of the school rooftop!"* Leoriko was making a fool of himself out of the emcee job, with sparkles all around him and somehow, rabbit ears placed on his head.
Tsuna sweatdropped. When did he get those rabbit ears on his head?
Hibari simply swirled around to head towards the stairs, his jacket flowing behind him. Tsuna, always concerned for his guardians, quickly called the skylark; "Good luck, Hibari-san!" Hibari didn't stop walking, but nodded his head a little.
'Mitsu', apparently, was the Lightning Guardian. Well, with his slightly bulky figure, it didn't seem so. But he was.
When the two disappeared without a word, Leoriko seemed to get his mind back and quickly put the rabbit ears away. "Sun of the Vongola and Flariek-kun, please head to the right side of the school rooftop." he now pointed to the other side of the school rooftop.
"YOSH! I WILL BEAT UP THE BROWN HAIRED GUY TO THE EXTREMEEE!" Ryohei pumped his fists into the air, sunlight shining down on him again; he was the Sun Guardian after all. Tsuna sweatdropped.
Flariek whipped up his thumb at Leoriko. "I see what you've done there." he smiled, and headed to the rooftop.
When the two was nowhere in sight, Leoriko pointed to the front porch of Namimori High. "Mist Guardians of the Vongola and Reina-chan, please head to the front porch." he smiled and looked at the two napos, obviously knowing there were two Mist Guardians.
"Good luck, you two." Tsuna nodded at the two napos disappearing in the mist, obviously going to the front porch in silence. Before their faces disappeared, Chrome smiled a little and Mukuro let out a little 'Kufufu', and they vanished.
Reina blinked. She aimed her finger at where the two Mist Guardians had disappeared, and asked the smiling Leoriko; "There were two Mist Guardians? Is that even allowed?" she pouted a little.
Leoriko simply responded, not meeting Reina in the eye. "Vongola is surprising." then his eyes trailed to the girl, only half his body size. "Reina-chan, you should get going too."
Reina nodded, and darted away.
Tsuna walked to Leoriko, wary on what the orange-haired man would do.
Leoriko, noticing the slight hesitance from the brunette, simply laughed. "Don't worry, Ryu-kun!" he leant forward, extended his hand, and dragged Tsuna closer. "I won't hurt you!" he cackled, amused at the slight dumb looking-look exerted from Tsuna's amber irises. But the next few words were filled with intentions so sinister, Tsuna couldn't help but shiver a little.
"Not yet."
Leoriko looks at the principal. "I'll pay for the damages."
The principal sighs in relief.
EXTRA: The saneness (?) of Tsuna's classmates. (Thanks christine27lover for pointing it out, it never really crossed my mind XD)
Fangirl A (from a couple of chapters ago) was doing the face of the painting 'The Scream' now. The boys she had just talked to a couple of days ago, the ones that seemed so normal (?), the ones that were so friendly...
WERE ACTUALLY HER MUM'S BOSS AND HIS GUARDIANS?!
Her brain wobbled... her conciousness wobbled... her mum was already freaking scary; bringing home guns and huge rifles every time she comes back from Italy... wait how did she even fit those rifles inside her small luggage?
Her mind was near explosion; she fell onto the ground on her butt.
"Oi, Hiyako, you okay?" a classmate of hers asked, concerned.
Fangirl A, now known as Hiyako, nodded gratefully; that one classmate had bothered to ask her in this situation, where everyone's attention had been directed towards the 14 people standing on the school's field. Apparently, all the classes faced the fields.
As Tsuna confronted Hicagen with questions, murmurs started filling the class.
"Kiyoshi-sama and Hicagen-sama are dangerous mafiasos? That can't be possible!"
"Those boys... why are the mafia so... small and thin?"
"Yeah, I've always pictured them to be all burly and with huge guns and those big ass rifles."
And when the 'Boss' arrived...
"HOW DID THOSE PEOPLE APPEAR!?"
"...what the heck are the mafia people inventing?"
"I...might faint from hotness now..."
Apparently they all had their own different points of view on the sequence of events.
Sorry, I'm delaying the fight further XD Because each fight is about 500-1k words long, and I have a trip soon :X
Sorry, please hold your suspense for a bit longer! I'll try to update before I go on a holiday; which is Sunday morning at my side. TRY.
Reply to reviews:
