Alex looked up when she heard the sound of laughter coming from the direction of the bathroom and exhaled the breath she had been holding in. There had been a few times she had stood to go after them, but Sarah had stopped her each time reminding her that if something was wrong Erica would have called for them. Alex, who was not happy with being stopped, finally gave in and took her seat again, but that didn't stop her from looking in their direction every thirty seconds.

Olivia looked up and locked eyes with Alex as she walked back to the table. She could see the worry and fear in them despite the fact that she was trying hard to hide it. Taking one last look at Erica and thanking her for talking with her, she quickly made her way to Alex's side.

"Are you okay?" Alex asked standing quickly when Olivia started to quickly make her way to her, "Do we need to leave?"

"No," Olivia said smiling as she pulled Alex against her, "I'm sorry I scared you."

"I'm not worried about me; I'm worried about you."

"I'm fine, actually better than fine," Olivia whispered as she caressed the side of Alex's face, "I had a nice conversation with Erica and she helped me see the light with some things."

Alex nodded, unable to find her voice, and tried hard to swallow past the lump that had formed in her throat. Since they have started a relationship, Olivia had always been careful about displaying affection to her in public. Some of it was due to the trial but part of it was due to some internal battle that she was waging. Alex never wanting to stress Olivia more than what she was on a daily basis took what was offered and never asked for more unless they were behind closed doors.

"You are so beautiful and deserve so much," Olivia whispered ignoring everyone that was in the room watching them, "And to steal a line that was just told to me, 'I am willing to face any obstacle that we come to, but I am not willing to face a life without you.'"

Alex choked out a sob hearing those words fall from Olivia's mouth. Not caring that there were at least three pairs of eyes on them as she pulled Olivia's face to hers and gently kissed her, breaking only when her lungs burned with the need for air.

"I love you, Alex," Olivia whispered as she leaned her head against Alex's, "More than I ever thought I could, and I know I'm not easy to live with or deal with since my injury, but I thank god everyday that you haven't gave up on me and walked out."

Alex smiled as she nodded unable to find her voice once again but knowing that Olivia more than understood what she was trying to say.

"So I take it I missed something big," Trevor said walking in and seeing the two women in an embrace while his sister and wife watched with tears in their eyes.

Olivia spun quickly pulling Alex behind her and stepping into an instant defense stance.

"Sorry," Trevor said throwing his hands up and taking a few steps back, "I'm sorry, Olivia, I wasn't thinking when I walked in and spoke up."

Olivia's eyes narrowed and her breathing became shallow as she zoned in on the threat.

"Relax," Alex whispered in Olivia's ear as she wrapped her arms around Olivia's body, sighing when she felt her body slightly relax at her touch. She would be lying if she said it didn't give her a rush and turn her on knowing that all it took was for her to touch and talk to Olivia and she would calm down. It was that same feeling that scared her as well because in her mind that meant she was controlling Olivia and she knew what it felt like to be controlled, "It's just Trevor and he didn't mean to scare you. Please take a deep breath."

Olivia straightened her back up more and took a small step forward. She started to take another step toward the man in front of her when she felt Alex tighten her hold on her even more. She stopped what she was doing and looked over her shoulder at the blonde.

"He's not here to hurt me or you," Alex said again, "Let's take a few slow and steady deep breaths in. That's it, honey, deep breath in," Alex smiled as Olivia followed her instructions, "Let it out, slowly."

Olivia slowly exhaled as she was instructed

"Again, deep breath in and now let it out slowly," Alex continued to coach until she could feel the tension leave Olivia's body. She couldn't help but smile when recognition flickered in Olivia's eyes, "There you are."

Olivia looked from Alex to Trevor, who was still standing with his hands in the air, to the table they were at as she realized what she almost did.

"No, you don't," Alex said reaching out and stopping Olivia from leaving, "Remember what you just told me, you are willing to face any obstacle that we come to, but you are not willing to face a life without me."

Olivia nodded as she looked down at the ground, she couldn't believe that she had just embarrassed Alex the way that she had. Why wouldn't Alex leave her and find someone who wouldn't embarrass her every time they turned around? Lord knew she deserved that and so much more.

"This was one of those obstacles," Alex said leaning down to look into Olivia's eyes.

"He snuck up," Olivia whispered.

"I did and I'm sorry," Trevor said from his spot not willing to move until Alex told him it was safe, "I wasn't thinking for a minute there when I stepped off the elevator and walked right upon you two."

"Guess I just ruined dinner," Olivia mumbled ashamed that she had lost her temper in front of everyone. She could only imagine what they were thinking of her now.

"You haven't ruined anything, honey," Alex said as she caressed the side of Olivia's face smiling at her lover, "Now the question is do you want to finish dinner, do you want to leave, or do you need a few minutes."

"All the above…"

"Which one is winning out?"

Olivia looked at Trevor and then over to the table where Sarah and Erica was still seated. She took a minute to study each and every one of them and was shocked to see compassion and understanding in their eyes not the usual terror that followed one of her episodes. Olivia looked back at Alex and smiled at her.

"I want to finish dinner."

A/N: You all didn't think I was going to let the dinner go off without some type of incident now did you? I had to throw something in there but allow Alex ability to calm her before anything major happens. The question is will the rest of the dinner go off without a hitch or will a curve ball be thrown in there.
