Dear Adrien,
Here is the cake recipe you asked for! This is the same one we used for class, and I've added some notes to help you along the way. Let me know if you have any questions, and good luck!
All the best,
Marinette

Ingredients:
½ cup of butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 ½ cups of flour
1 ¾ teaspoons of baking powder
½ cup of milk
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, (one at a time), then stir in the vanilla. Separately, combine the flour and baking powder, then (carefully!) add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth, then pour it into a greased 9x9 pan (remember, that means 9 inches by 9 inches) and bake for 30 to 40 minutes. You will know that it's done when it springs back to the touch and a toothpick in the middle comes out clean.
Note: This recipe also works well for cupcakes, and will make about a dozen, depending on how large you make them – the frosting is up to you!
