A/N: As promised an update before I start my vacation. Yes the title does say it all. Our ladies have finally hit that spot in their relationship. Also on that note I only see a few more chapters of this story I never thought would go this far. I want to thank everyone so much for stickign with me during the gaps and accepting this story with open arms. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Alex walked into her apartment and sighed a content sigh as she looked around. Over the last six months, since Olivia had agreed to move in, everything in her life had changed. Alex had bought out Olivia's lease and hired a moving company to move everything that Olivia had decided to keep and what she didn't want to keep and took it to wherever she wanted it to go. Now, when Alex walked in from a long day at work, she was greeted with a messy living room that screamed Olivia and she loved every minute of it.

She was about to call out and let her know she was home when she heard voices from the kitchen. Taking a moment to kick off her heels, so she wouldn't make any noise and could surprise her partner, she headed toward the voice that had given her peace during her most turbulent time of her life. She opened the door and stepped through, stopping dead in her tracks when her eyes landed on Stacia.

"Oh my god, this has to be the best," Stacia said as she stared at Olivia and quickly pulled her into a hug, "She is going to be so shocked."

"I'd say," Alex said from the door trying her best to appear as pissed as she could, but she knew she was failing miserably and, despite her best attempts, she couldn't keep the smile hidden that she felt creeping on her face, "I come home and find the woman you're cheating on me with in my kitchen."

Olivia started laughing as stepped out of Stacia's embrace and made her way to Alex. She couldn't help but remember a time when Alex would say something like that and she would have to fight and argue to prove Alex wrong. Now, when Alex would say something like that, all Olivia could do was laugh and pull the woman that she had come to love more than life itself into her arms.

Alex sighed contently as Olivia wrapped her arms around her and pulled her too her. Of all her accomplishments and achievements, she would truly have to say that becoming Olivia's partner was by far topped everything.

Stacia stared at the couple that stood before her and felt a small pang of sadness. She would be the first one to tell you that a part of her was still in love with Olivia and probably always would be, but taking one look at the two together and she knew Olivia had found the one. As quietly as she could, she stood and gathered her items and began to quietly make her way to the door. She was about to open it when she heard a voice calling her name.

"Stacia, I know you're not about to sneak out of here without telling me hello," Alex said smiling at the blonde she had once viewed as an enemy. Most who knew them were truly shocked that they had somehow managed to become friends.

"I was going to let you two be and enjoy your night," Stacia answered walking over to hug Alex, "It was great to see you."

"Wait, you're not staying for dinner?" Alex asked glancing between the woman she was madly in love with and the woman she had to thank for that.

"Not tonight, I was just here catching up with Olivia and making sure she didn't burn your house down," Stacia answered, "I have plans for tonight, but if the two of you are free over the weekend, let's get together and catch up."

"Sounds great," Alex said hugging Stacia one more time, "Call and let us know the time and place."

"I will," Stacia said as she glanced at Olivia and nodded at her, "I will see you later."

Olivia smiled as she walked her friend to the door and hugged her one last time. She took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves.

"Honey, is everything okay?" Alex asked noticing how nervous Olivia was, "Did something happen today?"

"Today was a great day," Olivia answered once she was able to find her voice and made her way back to Alex pulling her to her once again She would never tire of holding her or how she made her feel when she was in her arms.

"Then what is wrong and don't tell me nothing? I can tell by your posture and you didn't sleep well last night. You're not trying to overdo it at work like you did a few months ago?"

Olivia shook her head loving how Alex was concerned about her well being.

"No, honey, I am not overdoing it," Olivia answered pulling back so she could look into her eyes and tell she was telling the truth, "I promise you that."

"Then what is wrong?"

"I swear to you, nothing is wrong," Olivia said smiling as she guided Alex to the table and motioned for her to take a seat, "I'm going to bring dinner out."

Alex watched Olivia as she disappeared into the kitchen and wondered what was going through that head of hers. She hadn't seen her this jumpy since she had worked the case where she stayed at the precinct and received very little sleep. It was after that case that Alex held Olivia as she cried her eyes out, stating she was no good as a detective and should leave. Alex had waited till she calmed down and tried to sooth her the best she could and reassure her that she was still the same outstanding detective that she had always been. The only difference was that because of an on-the-job injury, she couldn't drive herself the way she use to, but that didn't mean she couldn't do the job the same as the guys. Olivia had accepted that at face value and began to adjust her hours the way she was ordered to do by Dr. Mathews in the beginning.

"Alex," Olivia said a she moved toward the blonde who seemed lost in her own thoughts, "Are you okay?"

"I will be, as soon as you tell me what's wrong. Olivia, I know you, probably better than I know myself, and something is wrong. Please don't shut me out."

Olivia took a deep breath and swallowed as she pulled a chair up to Alex.

"Alex, I believe I fell in love with you the second you walked into the precinct. I, honestly, had no clue that someone as beautiful and intelligent as you are could be found in one person, but you proved that wrong. I settled for a life of friendship not knowing that you were gay. Then, I was shot and the last thought that went through my head before I lost consciousness was that I never had a chance to tell you how I felt and then I was relieved because I wouldn't have lost someone I considered a dear friend when I made a fool of myself."

"Olivia," Alex started to say with tears in her eyes but was silenced with a gentle kiss.

"Then you helped me through rehab and I helped you through the trial. I, honestly, thought that as time moved on you would come to realize that the only thing you truly felt for me was gratitude for saving your life twice, and, as bad as it sounds, I was and am okay with that because that meant I got to hold you in my arms for a little while. As time has moved on, I have realized that a little while just isn't going to work for me, Alex, I need and want more. I want forever with you."

Olivia took a deep breath as she reached in her shirt pocket and pulled out the ring she had bought.

"Now," Olivia said with her voice cracking, "I had every intention of waiting till after dinner to do this, but I forgot how well you can read me and, believe me, the last thing I will ever want to do is make you worry."

"Yes," Alex cried as she tried to pull Olivia to her.

'Can I do this properly or at least as properly as I can?" Olivia asked laughing.

Alex nodded unable to say anything.

"I can't give you all the material things in the world that you want, but what I can give you is all my love and my heart, both of which you already have. Alexandra Cabot, will you please do me the honor of making me the happiest woman in the world and becoming my wife?"

Alex pulled Olivia to her and whispered 'yes' before kissing her soundly on the lips.
