DL23: Here is the next chapter and sorry its so late. Without further ado on to the story! Btw I noticed that I forgot to put how old Ai was when Dan gave her his sunglasses. Ai was 6 when Dan gave her, his sunglasses. Again, so sorry this is late! Please forgive me T-T
It's been about two weeks since Leonidas came to Earth. During those two weeks Ai and Leonidas have become closer and the best of friends. The both of them have been battling opponents left and right. Leonidas still hasn't remembered anything, but he and Ai aren't in any rush to say goodbye yet. Yep, everything has been nothing but normal with those two, but unknown to the second generation Brawlers there has been a lot of bad things happening. People who've been losing brawls, have been losing their bakugan and those bakugan are never seen again.
"Well, well looks like you've lost and you know what that means." a figured said with with an evil smile.
"No, no please not my bakugan. Anything, but my bakugan." cried a boy. The figure just smirked and then threw a strange looking card onto the ground.
"Too bad." and with that a portal opened up and sucked in the boy's bakugan. When it was over the figure turned and walked away, leaving the boy crying on the ground. "You're next, Ai Kuso."
"A-A-A-Achoo!" sneezed Ai.
"Bless you." Leonidas said from atop of Ai's shoulder.
"Thanks, Leonidas." thanked Ai, who started to rub her nose. While she was rubbing her nose, Ai saw what time it was on her watch and started to freak out. "Ahh! It's almost three and my shift starts in ten minutes!" shouted Ai. That's right everyone Ai, who is always on time when her shift starts, is almost late to help out at the cafe. "I swear to every deity out there that I will murder Davis and Renji." a scary glint that would've even made Shun shudder in fear could be seen in her eyes. Ai sighed "Oh well, looks like I don't have a choice. Leonidas hold on its going to be a bumpy ride."
"Right." replied Leonidas and a bumpy ride it was. Leonidas was hanging onto Ai's shoulder for dear life because of all the shortcuts and tricks Ai was doing. Leonidas couldn't have been more than happy when they finally arrived at the cafe.
"Sorry I was almost late, Mama.' apologized Ai as she came into the cafe. Ai put her apron, grabbed her notepad, and started taking people's orders.
"It's fine, Ai once we're done I have something I want to talk to you about." replied Runo as she came out of the kitchen to serve people their orders.
"Okay, Mama."
*Time Skip*
"Wow, I can't believe what Mama just told me." Ai said as she and Leonidas were walking to the park.
*Flashback*
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Ai asked her mom as they were finished cleaning the tables.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go shopping with me tomorrow?"
"Okay, now I know something is up because every time you want me to go shopping with it's usually because you want me to do something for you and in the end I always end up getting irritated. I swear if you and the other moms are going to use me as a dress up doll again then forget it! That was a dark and terrible day for me and a laughing fest for D.J. and the others." pouted Ai as she remembered that horrible day.
"No, No! Its nothing like that and if you remembered that was a dark and terrible day for your brothers too since they were the ones whose hair you dyed neon pink and green the next day and it wouldn't come out for a week." Runo said while trying to calm down her daughter.
"Oh, good and if that's not it then what is it that you want me to do?" Ai sighed in relief as she walked up to the counter and sat down on one of the stools.
"Well you see, your dad and I are, as well as the others, are going on a trip for a while and I need you to behave for your brothers while were gone." Runo asked.
"How long is a while?"
"Four weeks." Runo answered while thinking 'Here it comes in 3...2...1'
"FOUR WEEKS!? You're leaving me with my brothers for four weeks?! You can't leave with my brothers for four weeks! Why that's terrible, its horrible, its forbidden!" shouted Ai. "You do realize that if you do leave then you and papa will becoming home to a huge mess and you'll probably be left with one or two kids total, because you know there is only so much I can't take from them. I mean with D.J.'s teasing, Riku joining in every now and then, and the twins and their pranks I'll go mad. Did I do anything to make you mad at me because if I did then I'm sorry." Ai said while there were anime tears streaming down her face.
"No and I know they'll drive you up the wall, which is why I'm taking you shopping for new gate cards and ability cards and they're gifts for you for behaving for your brothers, so please bear with it and I promise when we come back I'll brawl with you." Ai thought about what her mom had said. On the down side she would be alone with her brothers, but on the upside she and her mom would get to brawl and that rarely ever happens since her mom is so busy with the cafe.
"Alright you've got yourself a deal, but I just have one question."
"What is it?"
"You,Papa, and all the other adults leaving wouldn't have to do with bakugan disappearing after brawls, would it?"
"Ai, how did you..." Ai looked at Leonidas, who nodded for her to tell her mother.
"At first I thought they were just dreams. Seeing how I love to brawl, but then they would turn into nightmares. The bakugan that lost were sucked into this portal and the last thing I would hear would be their screams."
"Oh sweetie-"
"It doesn't end there though. When the portal disappears I think its all over, but then I'm wrong and it reappears under me and I'm the one sucked in. I want to scream and call out for help but I can't because I'm too scared to do anything at all, then I wake up."Ai launched herself at Runo and started to shake."Mama, I'm scared."
Runo stared down at her daughter and hugged her tight. She stroked Ai's hair and softly said"Don't worry Ai, nothing bad will happen to you and do you know why?" Ai shook her head. "Because you're not alone. You have Papa, Mama, your brothers, and all the others. I know for sure that if anything ever happens to you we'll all be right there to protect you, help you, or support you if you ever need it and I know you'll do the same for us. Also don't forget that you have Leonidas too."
"Yeah, thanks Mama I really needed that. So I have another question, are you going to tell the others the truth or what you were going to tell me before I figured it out?"
"The latter and before you ask why, we need you and the others here. For two reasons, one we don't need the enemy to be suspicious and if we all go then whose going to protect the city and reason number two is that whose ever doing this might target the B.I system and if he can't figure out how to use it then he might go after you and Adam since you two besides Marucho and Ren are the only other two who can control it. You also have to make sure that nothing strange happens here too."
"Okay, but just to be sure are Leonidas and I the ony ones who know about this?"
"Yes, so make sure to keep this a secret."
"Got it. So when are you leaving?"
"In two days." answered Runo. Ai looked down for a minute before she looked up smiling at her mother.
"Alright Mama, you can count on me!" a coughed caught her attention "You can also count on Leonidas too." blushed Ai. Runo laughed at her daughter, then looked at Leonidas.
"Leonidas, I leave Ai in you care. Tigrerra, you too."
"I will do my very best to look after her and protect her."
"Of course, Runo." Tigrerra said speaking for the first time since they started this talk.
"One more question, do we go shopping today or tomorrow?"asked Ai.
*End of Flashback*
"Yes, I do agree with you, but remember we keep this a secret."agreed Leonidas from his spot on Ai's shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah I know Leonidas." The two continued walking to the park, but when they got there Ai saw that it was pretty much empty. "Aw man, I was hoping for someone to be here. Oh well, let's just go home Leonidas. Maybe if I'm lucky then I can talk Riku into having a brawl with me." As Ai was walking away she accidentally bumped into someone wearing a hooded cloak. "Oops, sorry."
"Are you, Ai Kuso?"Ai backed up bit and narrowed her eyes at the stranger.
"Who wants to know?"the figure then started to chuckle.
"Your opponent!"the figure then took off their cloak to reveal a guy who looked to be about thirteen years old. His hair color was brown and his eye color was blue. Seeing how tall he his, Ai probably would come up to his waist and judging by his clothes you could tell he was a Pyrus brawler. "Ai Kuso, my name is Jack and by the orders of my master, I challenge you to a Bakugan Brawl."
"Guess this is my lucky day. Fine by me, I was looking for a brawl anyway."
"Let's go! Field open!"shouted both of them. Time started to slow down until it completely stopped. Then both Ai and Jack were transported to the battlefield.(AN: If you don't know what I'm talking about, then go watch an episode or a clip of Bakugan Battle Brawlers.)"Gate Card set!"
"And just for added measure. Doom Card set!"added Jack.
"Ah! That card is..."
"That's right I said Doom Card and judging by the look on you face you know what it does. But just in case you don't know, the Doom Card is a portal to the Doom Dimension and when a bakugan loses a battle while this card is activated, well you know the rest." Ai glared at Jack. "Bakugan Brawl! Bakugan stand! Rise Pyrus Fear Ripper."(AN: Look it up on goggle if you want to know what Pyrus Fear Ripper looks like.)
"Bakugan Brawl! Bakugan stand! Rise Pyrus Leonidas." Leonidas rose and gave a deafening roar.
"Battle start."said the little computer in their bakupod.(AN: You know what I mean right. That watch from season one. In my story it keeps track of the battle and life gauge.) The two bakugan charged at each other. Jack had decided that he would be the to start off the battle.
"Ability Card Activate: Burning Spear." Fear Ripper held out his hand and a spear made out of fire formed in it. Fear Ripper charged at Leonidas with the spear, but Leonidas moved out of the way and slammed his fist into Fear Ripper's stomach. Forcing Fear Ripper to return to ball form. Leonidas had also returned to Ai in ball form and with that Ai had won the first battle.
"Jack's life gauge at fifty percent."informed the bakupod.
"Woohoo! That's my boy!"cheered Ai.
"Don't get too excited. The battle's just getting started."warned Leonidas. Ai looked at him and nodded.
"Right. Okay, let's go! Bakugan Brawl! Bakugan stand. Rise Pyrus Leonidas."
"Bakugan Brawl! Bakugan stand. Rise Pyrus Fear Ripper." The two bakugan rose and stood ready for the next battle."Gate Card Open: Power Drainer. This card brings your bakugan's power by four hundred and for good measure, I think I'll add a little friend. Bakugan Brawl! Bakugan stand. Rise Pyrus Griffin." Pyrus Griffin had rose and the battle was two against one.
"Oh man, this is so not good."Ai said in worried tone. Jack stood there smirking feeling confident that he would win this battle.
"Calm down, Ai and focus."Leonidas said calmly. Ai looked at Leonidas seeing that he wasn't worried, which made her calm down. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She opened her eyes and saw that smirk on Jack's face.
"Right, thanks Leonidas."thanked Ai. She then called out to Jack." Hey, if I were you I'd wiped that smirk off because thanks to Leonidas, I know what to do now." Jack gave her look saying'Oh you do, don't you' "Alright, first off I'll do this; Ability Card Activate: Flame Booster. Thanks to this card Leonidas' lost power comes back." Leonidas gave a mighty roar as his strength was returning and attack Fear Ripper, but Ai's turn didn't end there.
"Jack.'s life gauge at twenty-five percent."said the bakupod.
"For my next trick, I'll use this; Ability Card Activate: Gate Switch."
"What does that do?"growled Jack.
"This little beauty does what the name implies, it switches the gate cards. If you still don't get it, then how about I give you an example." Jack's gate card had started to shine bright and soon it was replaced by Ai's gate card.
"What happened?"
"Simple genius, and I use the term lightly, I replaced your gate card with my gate card and with that the battle has been decided. Gate Card Open: Pyro Booster and before you even ask Pyro Booster is a card that gives all my Pyrus bakugan a four hundred power boost."
"Oh no, then that means I-"
"Lost? Yep, so it's time to take out Griffin, Leonidas!" Leonidas body slammed Griffin and took him out.
"Jack's life gauge at zero percent."announced the bakupod. Before Ai could celebrate she heard a roar and saw that Pyrus Grffin was getting sucked into the Doom Dimension. When that was over the field closed and time started to move forward again. Leonidas looked at his partner with worry.
"Ai, are you alright?"asked Leonidas.
"Yeah, but I feel really bad for Pyrus Griffin."answered Ai and before Leonidas could comfort her, Jack had decided to interrupt.
"Don't be, Pyrus Griffin was a useless bakugan. The only good things that came out of this were that I got to test your strength and that I got rid of something useless." Jack then started to walk away from them. Ai just looked at him in shock of what he just said.
"How horrible. How could someone be so cruel?" Ai looked down, her bangs covering her face and clenching her fists.
"Ai, you didn't have a choice." Ai looked up at Leonidas to interrupt, but Leonidas stopped her."You had to win because if you didn't, who knows what would've happened to you after the battle and the thought of you getting hurt doesn't sit well with me."
"Leonidas." Ai looked at him in awe. She then smiled and said"Thank you, Leonidas. You really are the best partner there is."
"The same could be said for you too. One question though, should we tell the others about this?" Ai cupped Leonidas in her hand and placed him on her shoulder and said.
"To be honest, I don't know. I mean, what if it's just only you and me they know about and not the others. I wouldn't want the others to get involved and get into danger. I care way too much to let anything happen to them."
"Hmm, okay I see your point and I will agree with your decision, but if the others are attacked or with us when we are attacked, then we'll tell them everything that happened, okay?" Ai nodded her head and started to walk home.
"I understand, but it won't happen though, because I'll protect them. No matter what.
DL23: Finally done and again I'm terribly sorry for the very long wait. If you want to know how sorry I am then go to YouTube and look up Bleach Ichigo meets Nel, that's how sorry I am. Just to make one thing clear in chapter 7 I saw that I said that Ai's belt also has her ability cards my mistake. Ability cards are in the bakuwatch and gate cards are in deck holders on the belt. Another thing for any confusion with the bakupod and the bakuwatch here's what each of them do.
Bakupod: Keeps track of Life Gauge, the battles, and the power each bakugan has. It also, like in the first season can receive mail, video mail,and you can video chat on the go with it.
Bakuwatch: Keeps ability cards, has voice mail and you can communicate with others, ypu know like how Megan and Ai talked in chapter 7.
Well that's it and again let me say that I'm terribly sorry and that life truly does suck and is a pain in the butt. On the other hand I'm already working on chapter nine. So once again I'm terribly sorry that this is so late and I'll try to do better next time. Keyword: Try
