Mikey narrowed his eyes at the shimmering city in front of him. He scanned the streets below him from the Jimmy Johns restaurant roof he stood on. They had absolutely no hint. No clue. No trace as to where Raphael had vanished to.
He glanced back at the two brothers behind him who were arguing on where to look next. A tight pang filled Michelangelo's chest as he turned back to the city, his thoughts once again on Raphael. He watched as a small family of four entered the rival restaurant on the other side of the street. The youngest boy dancing around his family while the teen girl typed away at her phone not watching where she was going, but glancing up every now and then to glare at the little boy. The parents were just shaking their heads and smiling.
Then they disappeared into the restaurant; unaware of the three worried brothers that would risk their shells every night to save people like them. Three brothers who used to be four.
Mikey heard Donnie snap at Leo and then quickly apologize. His stomach clenched, not with hunger, but worry.
Mikey couldn't help but laugh slightly. He shook his head. 'So this is what it feels like,' He thought, his eyes scanning, but unseeing the city. 'Having a little brother. Worrying about him. How do the guys handle it with me all the time?' Mikey sighed and turned around to his remaining older brothers, ready to resolve their fighting. 'Don't worry little bro, we're coming.'
"We should try by the docks, see if the Purple Dragons got him." Leo suggested for the umpteenth time.
Donnie shook his head. "The Dragons wouldn't be capable of handling a kid, they would have sent some type of ransom by now, or sold… or…" Donnie shook his head.
"If we had some type of clue or hint… or anything!" Leo growled and begun pacing, his arms linked tightly behind his back.
"Shredder?" Mikey piped up, hoping to help even if a little.
"Maybe," Leo grumbled.
"Kraang?"
"Maybe."
"Uhh… The Sham-Wow guy?" Mikey asked. Leo looked up and Mikey gave a sheepish smile. "What? That guy could qualify… he's creepy… capable of hiding people… probably killed so-"
"Alright, Mikey, I get it." Leo ground out. "And no. I am pretty positive that the Sham-Wow guy did not take my baby brother!"
Donatello and Michelangelo glanced at each as Leo placed his hands on his head and growled. "Anyone could have him!" He shot. "Where the heck could he be."
"Well we can rule out Sham-Wow man… That's good," Mikey mumbled.
"We'll find him Leo," Donnie placed a hand on Leonardo's tense shoulder. "We'll search the whole city if we have to, but we will find him."
Mikey smiled. "As long as we bring him and a pizza home in the end, I don't care how long it will take," He watched as his brothers rolled their eyes, but they smiled anyways, making Mikey grin bigger. He wasn't about to hang around depressed people, no matter how much worry he had himself.
Leo nodded, "We start at the docks with the Dragons." He declared, ignoring Donnie's sigh. Leo signaled for his brothers to follow and began to race towards the docks.
"Let's hurry! I literally can't wait for that pizza!" Mikey smiled sheepishly at Donnie's glare. "Oh yeah, and to find Raph."
Donatello rolled his eyes before sprinting off after Leonardo.
'Especially Raph,' Mikey thought, following his brothers to the next roof.
The car started to bounce from the gravel road that the trio was driving on. Raphael buzzed with his lips as he bounced up on down on Bruno's lap. He switched his buzzing to a bumpy 'ah', excited that the gravel changed the way he sounded.
"Stop that!" Bruno groaned and hit Raph on the head. Raphael grunted and rubbed the back of his head. He moved his hands back down to his plastron where Bruno's arms were wrapped tightly around him. He began playing with one of Bruno's fingers. "One banana, two banana, three banana, four." He began to sing, the bumpy road imbedded into his speech. "Five banana, six banana, seven banana more." He laughed and grabbed Bruno's hand. "Twinkle… Twinkle… little bat... how I-"
"Shut it!" Bruno growled.
Raph sighed and crossed his arms over Bruno's. "Are we there yet?" He asked the famous question, forgetting to add the bumpy addition.
"Does it look like we're there yet?!" Bruno shot impatiently. He looked out at the window at the rocky farmland they were passing.
"My brothers' are funner then you." Raph stated. "Which is saying a lot."
Bruno rolled his eyes. "I don't care."
"I have to go to the bathroom!" Raph suddenly exclaimed; crossing his legs and bouncing.
"Hold it."
"What's your name?" Raph asked; uncrossing his legs and re-adding the bumpy speech to his voice.
"If I tell you, I'll have to kill you." Bruno grumbled tiredly, but couldn't help the threat.
"No you won't," Raph concluded.
The man groaned.
"What's your name?" Raph demanded again.
"Bruno."
"My name is Raphael." He declared, "RRRR-Rrra-AaaAaAaAppppaaaaEL" Raph said again with his bumpy road speech.
"Good for you."
"When will my brothers' get here?" Raph asked as he leaned back onto Bruno's stomach and swayed his feet back and forth.
"I told you their not coming!" Bruno ground out.
Raph pouted and stifled a yawn. "Where are we going?"
"Probably somewhere you won't like." Bruno replied with a smirk. "It's boring and hurts annoying little brats."
"Will there be pizza? I'm really hungry. My stomach is eating me…" Raph placed his hands on his stomach and groaned. "I could eat a horse! Or something even bigger!" Raph glanced back at Bruno. "I could eat you." He stated bluntly before turning back around.
Bruno brought his hand up and pinched the bridge of his nose. 'We're almost there… we're almost there.' He told himself over and over again even though he knew it was a lie.
Bruno glanced over and glared at Jason. He looked down at his IPod and saw that Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down was playing before glancing back up at the man just to realize he was mouthing the words. Bruno rolled his eyes and then glared ahead at the road as the turtle rambled on; regretting every moment that he didn't have music to listen to.
Raphael paused in the middle of a sentence, his mouth open a gape. He turned and looked over his shoulder expectantly at Bruno. "I have to go to the bathroom."
Bruno threw back his head and groaned.
"I told ya! I have no idea where he is ya freak!" The long purple dragon tattoo was very visible on the young teens arm. He had blacked hair with the front spiked. He had a ripped sleeveless shirt and tattered jeans. He grunted as Leo shoved him against the wall, his eyes white with rage. The turtle pressed his forearm against the Dragon's neck and unsheathed one of his swords to which he pointed it threatingly at the teens face.
"You're lying!" He spat. He watched as the young teen began to squirm and finally choke.
"N-no! Ple-ase! I… I really have no idea!" He shot out; his wide as implanted on the gleaming katana.
Donatello and Michelangelo soon ran into the room. "We looked everywhere! He's not here." Mikey declared.
Leo growled and throw the gang member to the ground. "This was a waste of time!" he snapped at no one in particular. He turned and did a once over on his younger brothers', making sure neither of them were hurt. He noticed a thin blood line running down Donatello's arm, but other than that, they looked ready to fight anyone else who stood in between them and their brother.
Donnie clenched his fists. He had known that the Purple Dragon's hadn't had their little brother, but of course they just had to check. He could see that Leo was already kicking himself for that though, so didn't bring it up. He ignored the pants that came from the shocked teen on the ground and started to think of anyone who might even have a possible connection with men with black suits.
Purple Dragons was the first out, and of course that's where Donatello found himself.
Donnie growled. "Whoever had him better not be hurting him." He snapped.
"We should keep searching, the longer he's gone, the more I get stressed!" Mikey said exasperated.
Leo looked towards Don, "Donnie… I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking straight." He looked at the gang member on the floor who was already grabbing out his phone to call for help. Leo looked back to Don, not worrying about that yet. "Where should we look next?"
Donnie placed a hand on his head. "There are so many options… we need to go to talk to Master Splinter." He declared.
"We probably should have started with that…" Leo grumbled; kicking himself for crumbling under the stress of not knowing if his brother was alright.
Mikey groaned and rolled his head back, "He's going to kill us!" He managed to say before running after his brothers, just as the Purple Dragon back-up started to arrive.
Sitting in a car for nine hours with an annoying, disgusting, whiney, little twerp kid can drive you on the brink of crazy.
But sitting in a car with Raphael for nine hours can lead to suicide.
Bruno rubbed his face before slowly letting his hands slide down. He felt lucky that the young turtle had curled up and fell asleep on his lap for the last fifteen minutes of the trip before the man had been able to slam his head into the window and jump out.
He was never having kids. His girlfriend had been talking about it, and Bruno had actually been considering it, but then after today… He was never having kids.
Except for the turtles snoring, things had actually been quiet and quite peaceful. Bruno looked at the oddly shaped building as he got out of the car. The path they had taken to get to it hadn't been on the map and the GPS had no idea what you were talking about when you put in coordinates, so it had taken a while to find, even with specific instructions.
Bruno gathered Raphael up in his arms and got out of the car. He was met by a man with black hair and sunglasses on a pointed face. He was tall and scrawny with a lab coat draped around his body.
Jason waited by the car, eyeing the man, sizing him up, as Bruno walked up to him. "Bishop?"
"You're late." The man replied as he calmly glared at Bruno.
Bruno shrugged, "It was a long drive." He replied.
The man rose an eyebrow and smirked. "I see." He glanced down at Raphael before snapping his fingers.
A young man with red hair and freckles, also in a lab coat, came rushing out carrying a brief case. He quickly opened it, reviling the bundles of money before reclosing it and handing it to his boss.
Bruno glanced down at Raphael when the turtle sighed and cuddled closer to him. Bruno blinked before shaking his head and grabbing the small child by one arm and holding it up. Raph woke up with a start and quickly looked around in a panic.
Bishop smiled. "Now, now, no need to get hostile."
"Whatever." Bruno ground out; ignoring the disapproving look his was getting from Jason as he brought Raph back closer to him and walked towards Bishop. "Just hand over the money and we'll leave."
Bishop motioned for his red haired assistant to grab the cage that Bruno hadn't noticed a couple of feet away. He took Raph from Bruno and shoved him into the cage. Raph gave a startled cry.
"Hey! Let me out! I didn't do nothing wrong!" Raphael began crying as he crawled to the front of the cat carrier and gripped the bars. His big green eyes locked with Bruno's, begging for help.
Bruno stared at Raphael for a moment until suddenly a silver suit case was shoved into his face. "Take it and leave." Bishop snapped. "Hurry, before I change my mind."
Bruno grabbed the case and looked towards Raph again only to find the assistant working back towards the large building with the cage in tow. Raphael screaming louder than he had been in the car, inside.
"What are you going to do with him?" He finally asked.
"Nothing of your concern." Bishop snapped. He turned away and stared walking towards the building when he suddenly stopped. Without turning around he said, "Didn't you have a job? Simple. Easy. Deliver the package then go home.
"In and then out."
Bruno flinched. Bishop started to walk again.
Bruno turned around and walked towards the car; staring at the case of money the whole time. He climbed into the car and didn't even notice the engine turn or the turns they started to make. His mind had drifted away and all he could hear were the screams of the small turtle echoing in his mind.
