Mikey grinned at as the cocky grin on the man's face immediately disappeared and was replaced with fear. He spun his Nunchucks, making the adrenaline that was racing through his veins, speed up. This man had done something to Raphael. Not the hotheaded, stubborn, over protective Raphael that Mikey looked up to as a hero, but the younger one. The one that still asked for bed time stories and would openly let out his emotions without having to worry about his pride.

The one that refused to take naps, but would make you smile at the way he slept so peacefully. The ticklish one who would try and hold in his laughter but would soon lose the battle and explode into giggles. The one that was completely adorable no matter what he did, but didn't want to be. Yep, that one.

Michelangelo's eyes locked onto Bruno's. Mikey at this moment was loathing this man. The over protectiveness that would prod at Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello's hearts every time had to jump into a fight with their baby brother was now eating at Michelangelo. He knew that if Raph ever found out he was ever thinking this way over him, he would pummel the poor orange ninja. But Mikey couldn't help it. Raphael was younger now; now Mikey's temporary little brother, and even though the over protectiveness Mikey was now feeling, only would also be temporary, it was strong.

He flicked his wrists, making his Nunchucks spin even faster than they had before. He felt the stab of guilt hit his heart. 'It's all my fault Raph got taken. It's my fault that he's probably hurt, scared. It's my fault that these awful men even know his name.' Mikey bit his lip. He had always gotten on Leo's case for blaming himself over every little incident, but now he understood why.

He loved his little bro and just wanted him safe, and not having him safe chewed at Mikey's heart.

He stole a quick glance at his brothers next to him. Both of them masking their emotions well. They were ninja, they had to. But no matter how hard Master Splinter tried to teach them, there was just no way of masking the pain of losing your brother in your eyes.

"Get down!" Mikey jolted out of his thoughts and spun his head back towards the men in front of him just as a loud bang echoed in his ears, and then next came the searing pain.

He had learned to control himself when in pain, to push it down and keep fighting, but the sudden bullet that was shoved into his shoulder had given him quite a startle.

A gasped scream forced its way out of his mouth and he immediately grabbed onto his shoulder. Everything else became a blur as he stumbled back; the men running to their car and speeding away, Leo and Donnie immediately going into action.

Mikey hadn't even realized that he had fallen to his knees, or did he register the words Leo was using to try and get him to calm down and breathe.

Mikey shook his head and tried to clear the fog that was already creeping up on him. His shoulder seared with pain as if a million pieces of acid dipped shards of glass had been carved into his skin.

Leonardo cupped his face. "-Angelo! Listen to me!" Mikey blinked a couple of times before his gaze finally adjusted to greet Leo's. Leo gave a small smile. "I need you to focus on your breathing, ok?"

It took a moment, but Mikey nodded and tried to control his quick rasped breathes. He felt Leo grab his hand and place it on his chest, "With me Mikey. In out, in out, in out," Leo took in deep breaths and then slowly let them out, never taking his gaze away from Mikey as Donatello worked on his shoulder.

"I have stuff that will help in the van," Donnie said, "The bullet went straight through, so we won't have to worry about that."

Mikey didn't even hear him as he focused on his breathing, watching and feeling Leonardo's breaths.

He watched as black dots began to dance around his vision; bouncing around and clouding his sight. He allowed the darkness to come and slumped onto Leonardo who immediately wrapped strong arms around the sea green turtle.

With a quick movement, Leo was running to the van with Mikey cradled in his arms, Donatello already two steps ahead, getting ready to help Mikey in the car.

Leo gently laid his younger brother down on the ground of van, leaving him to the care of Donnie who already had some disinfectant and a needle ready, and then quickly jumped into the driver's seat. He started the car and took a quick glance behind his shoulder, checking on his brothers, before looking forward again. "The sooner we get home, the better." Leo thought out loud.

"Leo hurry, he's not breathing right." Donnie called from the back. Leonardo's teeth clenched and his foot leaned down further onto the gas pedal.

Leo gave a startled gasp and quickly rammed his foot onto the brake, earning a yelp and a crash in the back of the van as they swerved.

Donnie stood up and followed Leo's surprised gaze outside the window right to the rampaging alligator in the middle of the street.
