His foot falls were naturally quite as he paced back and forth in front of the lair door. His arms were clasped behind his back and his eyebrows were knitted together in very deep thought and concern. He had tried meditating, drinking tea, but not even Splinter's stories could calm the old rat.

April glanced nervously at him from her spot on the couch, her chin were resting on her knees that were tucked tight up to her chest. She turned her attention back to the cartoon that flickered in front of her. She couldn't concentrate though. Her mind wondered to thoughts of the guys, wondering if they were ok. Guilt pinched at her heart as the small screams of Raphael echoed around in her head. She wouldn't be able to do anything without knowing if the guys were ok or not, it was just too difficult.

She took her eyes off of the screen again to look back over at Master Splinter. The mutant's tail twitched in worry and concern for his sons. She could practically see the awful thoughts of what could be happen zooming around in his wise mind, which seemed to make his pacing go even faster. April was surprised there wasn't a trench where the rat was continuously pacing.

He was the most patient, kind, strongest, skilled, mutant ninja master April had ever met. He would meditate on hours without moving, train every day with already perfect katas, sit through awful opera type stories, and face awful enemies almost 24/7. Yet he was still a father.

A father who couldn't help but worry about his babies.

April jumped when Splinter's T-phone rang out. Splinter was quick to pull it out and open it, but his eyebrows immediately furrowed in confusion as he cautiously pressed a button. He hummed and pressed another one, his mouth in a tight line. When that didn't work, he pressed another.

"How do you work these crazy things?" He mumbled; pressing a few more buttons.

"Master Splinter… you already… stop pressing buttons!" A voice came from the other line in the phone.

Splinter blinked and then pulled the phone up to his ear. "Hello? Hello? My sons?" He knitted his brow further and brought the phone back down, wondering what button he had pushed that made his son talk as he jabbed his finger against the phone.

April held back a giggle and quickly jumped off the couch and rushed over to help the giant rat. She grabbed the phone, and with a grateful nod from Splinter, she answered it.

"Hello?"

"April!" Leo's relived voice called from the other side.

"Yeah, is everything alright? Did you find Raph?" She quizzed, pressing the phone close to her face as she gripped it with both hands.

There was a small sigh, "I'm sending Mikey and Donnie back as me and Leatherhead continue searching." He replied.

"Wait, Leatherhead?' She questioned, looking down at Splinter who had also heard the conversation with his sharp ears, and merely shrugged in reply.

"Long story," He stated bluntly. "Anyways, I really need you-" He was cut off when an argument between two turtles got to loud.

"I am not going back! I'm staying!"

"Michelangelo, for the last time, no!" Donnie's voice echoed in the background. "You're injured and I'm not risking anything with you!"

"Guys…" April tried to cut in, but was drowned out.

"But Raph needs me!"

"Yes, and you'll be waiting in the lair with open arms when he returns."

"Ummm, guys…" April sighed.

"But-!"

"No buts about it Michelangelo!" Leo cut in sternly. April sighed and rolled her eyes as she listened to the bickering brothers.

"Guys…" She groaned, only to be drowned out again. She pressed her lips together angrily and Splinter was wise to take a step back. "YOU GUYS!" She shouted into the phone, silence echoing afterwards. She gave a relived sigh, "Thank you. Now, as far as I know, Mikey's hurt. So he's coming back here, end of story."

A voice spoke up to argue, but she was quick to ignore it. "Donnie's coming back to help out around here and keep Mikey in line, correct?"

"Sounds right." Donatello replied.

"Ok, Leo and Leatherhead are going to find Raph and bring him home." She paused, "Now that wasn't so hard, now was it?" She hung up without a response. She gave a contented sigh and handed the phone back to Splinter with a smile. "Everything's going to be just fine." she promised.
