I couldn't wait to post this chapter... so I posted it...
I DON'T OWN TMNT!
Enjoy! :D
The old brown duffel bag that had stayed beside the purple-banded turtle for most of his life was almost over flowing with supplies; bandages, cloths, flashlights, emergency food, water bottles, an extra blanket, trackers, supplies that would be able to make a quick bomb, and other things Donatello had always felt they might need during a mission, or during a mission gone wrong. He shuffled through the bag, making sure everything they might need would be in there.
They were going back to the Kraang lair. The same Kraang that had just perfected their device that makes things go: Phhhhhhhh-POP. Donnie tried to think of every possible solution to every problem that might happen; like what if the device ended up hitting a building support beam and they ended up getting caved in? Or if it caused the ground to crumble from beneath their feet?
He was going to be ready.
Leo tapped Don on his shoulder. "Hold on Leo, I'm just double checking to make sure I got everything."
"You don't" Don spun around; Leonardo was leaning on Donnie's Bo staff, one eyebrow raised.
"Oh yeah" Donnie smiled sheepishly as he stole his Bo back from the blue-banded turtle.
"Do you know what went wrong?" Leonardo suddenly asked.
Donnie fell down into the spiny chair, making it twirl slightly to the right. He scrubbed at his eyes with the balls of his hands "I think it's all got to do with time"
"Time?" Leo asked.
He and Donnie quickly stood/sat a little straighter "Mikey, sit down." Don said sternly. The blue and purple banded turtles turned around to face a wide eyed orange one; his foot raised slightly off the ground as he was about to take another stealthy step into the room. He stood up straight and placed his hands on his hips.
"I hate it when you guys do that" He huffed. "I'm a ninja, I should be able to get around just fine witho-"
"You should be resting" Donnie interrupted; crossing his arms over his plastron.
"I checked on Raph," Mikey smiled; ignoring Don's threat completely "He's fallen asleep."
"You went upstairs?!" Don snapped "You shouldn't be walking around, your injured really badly Mikey!"
"It's my shoulder, you mother hen, not my stinkin leg!" Mikey huffed "I swear, sometimes you're as bad as Leo" He smiled at the two brothers growls. "Now, what were you saying about that time thing?"
Donnie waited until Mikey had sat in a chair that sat close to the door. "I believe that since Raphael had been a toddler for a long certain amount of time, that the Kraang's device was starting to take on its full effect, making it so his age would drop the longer he wasn't his normal age. Meaning," Don quickly added, noticing his brothers confused faces "that the Kraang device was slowly working on making it so that there wouldn't be a cure on making him his normal age."
Leo nodded slowly; still slightly confused "But Don, I was a kid too, and I went straight back to being 15 when you shot me with your thing" Leo jerked his head towards the device that sat on Donatello's desk.
Donnie stared at Leo for a moment "Leo… We're 17"
Leo placed his head in hands "Crap"
"So, the longer you stay a toddler, the harder it is to change you back?" Mikey asked.
"More or less" Donnie shrugged, "But I'm pretty sure I can fix it, I just need to get to the original machine again, and this time," He held a small green and yellow device, a screen covered most of the machine "I'm going to scan it, so if something else goes wrong, we won't have to go back… again."
Leo nodded and glanced up at the clock, "Let's get going" Donnie put his gaze on the wall clock also and gave a swift jerk of his head in agreement.
"So, you expect me to just stay here and do nothing?" Mikey asked; suddenly sounding a bit panicked.
"Exactly" Donnie slung his brown bag over his shoulder, sheathed his Bo staff, and started to follow Leo out the door.
"But, but… that's so BOOOORRRING!" Mikey gasped.
"I want you to take some more pain killers while we're gone, and make sure to help April with Raph, you know how he can be. But, I don't want you getting up to much! It may just be a shoulder wound, but you still need to rest." Don explained while he waited for Leo to come back from checking on their red-banded brother.
"How am I supposed to help if I'm not allowed to get up?" Mikey asked
"Precisely" Donatello nodded as he shuffled through his duffel bag; Mikey threw out his hands in a confused gesture and brought his eye ridges together; his mouth slightly gapped as he looked as if he was about to say something but couldn't find anything to say.
Leo slowly opened the door of his younger brother's room and slowly poked his head inside. When nothing yelled at him, Leo walked fully into the room and went up to the hammock. He smiled at the peaceful face of his sleeping brother. A grunt or mumble coming from him every now and then. Raph was sleeping on his stomach, his face turned towards the blue-clad turtle and his mouth slightly opened. Light snores came from him. Leo placed a hand on the young turtles face, rubbing a thumb back and forth on his cheek for a moment. Leo took his hand away and walked towards the door, "It's for your own good Raph" He said to the slumbering child "I'm just trying to keep you safe."
Leo shut the door quietly and went back to the lair entrance only to find his rambling brothers. "-ninja alien monster zombies with mega robot dogs come and I have to protect April, Raph, and Sensei?" Mikey eyes grew huge "Can I get up than?"
"You're not allowed to leave the couch." Donnie commanded "Plus, Sensei can handle himself if there's an attack, and Casey will be here too."
"Ok, but what if they need help?"
"No, Michelangelo!"
"Well, what if it's a giant pizza monster and I have to eat him! What if-"
"Whaaaat's uuup?!" A voice called as the lair door slid open. Casey walked in, a grin plastered on his face as he took in the turtles around him. "Where's the kid?"
"Raphael," Leo crossed his arms and raised and eye ridge. "Is sleeping, so you better not wake him up"
Casey smirked, "When he's normal again, I'm never letting him live this down."
Donnie gestured towards the door; Leo nodded and started to follow him out.
"Ok, ok, what if pigs with very sharp sword fishes come in and-"
"Couch, Mikey, NOW!" Mikey flinched at his brothers loud voice; he stalked over to the couch and plopped himself down, just as the lair door slide shut.
"… Pigs… wielding sword fish?" Casey asked sitting next to him.
"Hey" Mikey shot "I've seen a lot weirder, like those Triceraton guys holding clubs!" Mikey nodded slightly as he recalled his brother's trip to the Triceraton dimension. "I wouldn't be surprised if pigs came through the… door… right… NOW!" Mikey whirled around and stared at the lair entrance. He huffed and sank back onto the couch.
"Hey, it was worth a shot" Casey shrugged.
