Naruto the secret soul reaper
Hey, how is everyone, it's me dark aoura, welcome back, well it's almost the end of the school year, how was yours?. Seriously guys tell me what high school is like, i'm in homeschool so i don't know, is it like the sitcoms on tv?. If i were in high school, next year would be my junior year. Speaking of which do you guys no if i could get a diploma through homeschool, or will i have to get a g.e.d, because i herd no good colleges accept those, so i really don't want one of those. Sorry about dumping my problems on you, i just need some info. At any rate i'm really starting to get into this story, i think you guys will like this chapter or maybe not i'm not an esper, i wish i was though (that would be so awesome) *sigh*.
chapter 14
Crocodile, do your thing
A single day had passed since naruto had been imprisoned, the stocks on his arms and legs were starting to imprint marks on his skin. There was a very strong kido barrier enforced by the bars of his cell. No food was allowed for him, luckily he still had his food pills, which were rather difficult to get to with his arms restrained. The captured soul reaper sat on the small bed within the cell, contemplating a way to escape, the stocks were no problem to get out of, naruto simpy didn't break them so it would look like he was still bound. The real problem was the barrier.
Naruto layed on the bed thinking of what to do. He could tell that he would not be able to fight any other captains without bankai, he looked at his zanpakuto trying to figure out a way to achieve bankai. It was then that naruto sensed his zanpakuto sitting against the wall beside his bed. Looking at the sword, naruto saw emerald vapor coming from tozumasen, soon the vapor's volume increased and the mysterious vapor amalgomated and took on the form of tozumasen.
"Tozumasen, what are you doing here?".
"You insisted on achieving bankai, well i have come to tell you that you are now ready to attempt it".
"What, how can that be?. you just told me a while ago that i had to reach the full potential of my shikai first".
"Yes that is what i said, and it was true indeed, now you have reached the peak of your shikai. It was during your last battle that you did just that, do you not remember?".
FLASHBACK
Naruto channeled every bit of spirit energy he had into tozumasen, then, although unbeknownst to our hero, his spiritual pressure had turned green, it then shifted into an emerald crocodile aura beast, the crocodile's emerald eyes stared into the black eyes of kenpachi's skull aura. The two collided.
END OF FLASHBACK
"That's right, i remember. So that's what the full power of shikai" the jinchuriki recollected.
"It is now time to determine wheather or not you can fully utilize me as your zanpakuto, but not here, first you must escape and seclude yourself somewhere well hidden, the trial you will face to make me submit to you will require no interruption, go forth naruto, and make it happen".
The zanpakuto spirit faded into green vapor and dissolved back into the sword. Naruto layed back down and tried to think.
"How can i escape?. I could break these stocks no problem but how do i break the kido barrier, i could try to counter it with my own kido, but then i'd be noticed and guards would restrain me. Hold on, i could use my chakra, there's no way the soul reapers could detect me. I'll leave a clone to make them think i'm still here".
Our hero called upon kurama and murged his chakra with the demon's own chakra, entering tailed beast mode. After easily breaking his restraints, the jinchuriki grabbed tozumasen and used his enhanced speed to zip past the barrier, being a psudo-demon, naruto was immune to spirit energy and since he was using his chakra, the kido didn't consider it a threat. Naruto returned to normal form once he was out of his tozumasen to his waist as he ran, naruto knew what he had to do.
Momo hinamori sat in front of the window of her cell, staring at the crescent moon. She couldn't have cared less about being in prison, now that her captain was dead, there was nothing. Momo felt so horrible for attacking izumo, who was one of her best friends from the soul reaper academy, she even remembered a time where he, renji, and herself had nearly been eaten by hollows during a field trip. Now that she had time to think, she realised that toshiro was right, her first objective should have been retrieving sosuke's body. Momo still intended to to kill gin ichimaru, but she would have to go about it a different way.
"Captain aizen" momo murmered quietly.
Just then she herd a door open and went to the front of her cell. Into the complex walked toshiro's lieutenant, rangiku matsumoto. The orange haired lieutenant walked up to momo's cell with a callous look on her face. The smaller woman looked up to meet rangiku's gaze, momo could make out disappointment, and hostility on rangiku's face, not that she cared one bit what rangiku thought right now.
"What's going on, rangiku?".
"The ryoka has been captured, the investigation will commence shortly, we will see if wheather or not it was him or if it truely was gin, and also...".
Rangiku took something out of the right side of her shihakusho, by her breast. It was a single peace of paper folded into four quadrants. Rangiku dropped it and let it fall into momo's hands. Momo looked at it curiously, then returned her gaze back towards rangiku.
"That was a note i found during the search through aizen's barracks, i found it lying on his desk, but never showed it to anyone, i thought that as his lieutenant, you should be the one to read aizen's final message".
"Captain aizen's final message, meant for me?".
"Momo" rangiku said accusingly.
"Yes".
"You actions earlier were completely unprofessional".
"I-I know, but-".
"But nothing, you drew your zanpakuto, and released it, then you proceeded to attack both a captain and a lieutenant. You acted out of anger and impulse, something that no one who calls themselves a warrior must do". Momo looked down as she listened to the other woman.
"I realize that now" said momo monotonously.
"Hopefully you're remaining time in here will help you sort out your emotions".
Rangiku then left the complex, leaving momo to stare at the final letter from her captain. Sitting in fromt of the small window at the back of her cell, momo opened up the letter and began reading.
"Dear momo,
It is me your captain, i have been doing survailence work on gin ichimaru for several months now. I fear he may have some sort of plot to take over soul society, my research shows that a powerful artifact has been sealed away inside the sogyoku, and it will be obtained during the execution. Listen very carefully momo, though it may seem as everything is fine, you must not let your guard down. I am sorry to say that my death may soon be upon me, if that happens i would like to bequeath to you my mission. Please i ask this of you, not as your captain, but as a man with no more options. Avenge my death and stop the true culprit, gin ichimaru is not the true face of this though. It seems gin is being manipulated by another individual, another captain. As my lieutenant, you must confront and put a stop to this. I am sorry it had to be this way momo, i never had any intention to bring you into this. The captain who is behind this evil plan is... Toshiro Hitsugaiya".
Needless to say, momo hinamori was thrown into an erratic mindscape of dismay and dispair. It was as if her entire world had been shattered; first her captain who was also the love of her life was no more, then her best friend had been the one who orchostrated his death. It was as if everything she knew was a lie. Upon reading the name at the bottom of the letter, her eyes snapped away from the paper, then without her even realizing it, she had let if fall to the ground. Momo desperately wished this was some sort of nightmare and she would wake up soon. She silently sobbed to herself.
In the dead of night, naruto was sprinting down the marvel tiled ground of the soul society. Not making a sound, our hero raced to the edge of the seireitei, where jidanbo was stationed. The jinchuriki of kurama snuck out of the seireitei and into the rukon district. He knew tha zennosuke was still patrolling around district 78, naruto was planning to talk to him again, zennosuke must have known where there was a good secluded place to do his bankai training. After entering the rukon district, our hero made his way to district 78. O his way to meet zennosuke, many of the residents were glaring at him, but he paid them no mind.
As the single invader strolled through the dead of night, the moonlight shined upon him, as if naruto was a male version of princess kaguya. Arriving in district 78, naruto used his senses to try and locate zennosuke.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH".
Naruto's head shot up and looked on ahead to see residents running for their lives. A large black and white tiger hollow was rampaging through the district, zennosuke flash stepped in front of the large hollow and prepared to attack.
"Good morning, tsuchinamazu".
Zennosuke's katana turned into a ring and the afro soul reaper threw the projectile at the tiger hollow, only for the hollow to use it's fangs to catch the ring through it's hole and then snap it's head, sending the projectile back at zennosuke.
The afro soul reaper was preparing to reseal his weapon when.
"Bakudo #4 hainawa".
The thin yellow chain wrapped itself around the hole of the ring, naruto yanked the chain back stopping tsuchinamazu.
Zennosuke then sealed his zanpakuto and sheathed it after retrieving it.
"looks like you could use a hand".
"This hollow is stronger than i originally thought, i guess i could let you help me with it".
"Sure thing, let's tame this cat".
Naruto drew tozumasen and held it with one arm. Charging at the hollow naruto flailed his sword to combat the tiger's fangs. Taking the opprotunity, zennosuke charged at the hollow with tsuchinamazu in sword form. The tiger hollow swiflt dodged the sword with agility.
"Bakudo #62 hyapporankan".
Blue spikes were fired at the hollow's feet, they were also scattered all around it in a large quantity.
"RWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAH".
The tiger hollow's roar shattered the blue spikes that surrounded it. Being the beast that it was, tiger hollow pomced on zennosuke, barred it's fangs, and prepared to swallow him.
"Bakudo #61 rikujokoro".
The flower appeared and restrained the hollow, naruto then followed up by using sajo sabaku to make the hollow yeild, only for the beast to use it's claws to escape. Zennosuke took the opprotunity to get up and take a slash at the tiger. The afro soul reaper was successful in cutting of it's tail.
"RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH".
The tiger hollow went into a frenzy, thrashing every house there was and causing damage everywhere. Naruto decided to use his nine tails cloak to combat the tiger, our hero's fox style taijutsu easily overcame the tiger hollow, and with a severed tail it had no chance. After a bief battle of tackling, the tiger hollow fell to the ground and began gasping for air. Naruto dropped the nine tails cloak, and approached zennosuke.
"Well, this is your hollow, you should be the one to finish it".
"Right" said zennosuke nodding.
The afro soul reaper attacked with tsuchinamazu, splitting the tiger hollow in half, it then dispersed into black ash energy.
"Thanks for that, so what are you doing here?".
"I'm not strong enough to take on a captain, if i want to rescue tenten, i'll have to obtain bankai. I was hoping you would know a good secluded place to train".
"Bankai training huh?, well i guess you could use that old abbandoned cave on the cliffs of the forest near here, it's pretty isolated there. Would that work?".
"That's perfect, thanks zemmosuke".
"Anytime, fellow unique hair style user".
"Later".
"Oh and best of luck".
"Much appreciated". said naruto who disappeared with flash step.
Approaching the cliff of the forest, naruto used his chakra to scale it and found the cave at the top. Entering the cave, naruto looked around; the cave was surprisingly clean. The walls were the color of beach sand, which was thick and actually comfortable looking. Naruto saw that there was a river that flowed inside the cave, that would be good for drinkimg and bathing.
Our hero stepped into the center of the cave, once there he drew tozumasen. Naruto focused hard and before his eyes, tozumasen materialized. Tozumasen had it's arms crossed as always when it first appeared. The two looked at each other for a moment, the zanpakuto then uncrossed it's arms.
"Are you ready naruto?, this is where the training shall take place".
"I am ready, what is the trial?".
"Look at your sword, where is it?".
"It's gone".
"Yes, you will reclaim it only after you pass the trial, close your eyes".
Naruto did as he was instructed, and then it felt as if naruto had been transported to another world. Naruto's eyes snapped open as soon as it felt as if he was safe and saw where he was.
Naruto was submerged in green water, it was a bright mix of grass and emerald. After naruto's eyes adjusted, he looked around to see what the task was, in the distance of the horizon ahead of him, our hero saw what appeared to be a sunken ship. There was a large hole on the deck of the ship, as well as the hull. The mast was broken in two, the flag logo was an oddly shaped skull. Naruto recognized it as the skull of an aligator, judging from the logo, naruto could tell it was a pirate ship. Naruto swam towards the ship, as the task he had to complete must have had something to do with that ship.
Naruto reached the ship and stepped foot on the deck. Looking around to see if there were any survivers, naruto noticed that there were skeletons everywhere, human skeletons. Seeing that there was nothing on top, our hero swam throught the hole on the deck, swimming to the interior, naruto womdered why he was able to breathe underwater, then he realized because he was in his own inner world.
The inside of the ship was ominous; there were more skeletons insode, there was a haunting toxic green glow on everything, electric eels were swimming abpout, and for some reason there were spiderwebs underwater.
Nothing of any significance was anywhere to be seen. Naruto was about to swim out of the ship, when the ship began to shudder, naruto suspected that the ship was about to colla[se on itself due to the pressure of water. Until naruto realized that the ship was actually rising, soon naruto could tell that the ship was now floating. Making his way to the top deck, our hero looked ahead. In the horizon, there were many islands in all directions, naruto wondered what he was supposed to do. Suddenly, a large pilar of water errupted from the emerald ocean, right in front him. From the pilar, an ominous looking aligator hoped aboard the boat and saw naruto standing there.
"So it's you huh, you must be after the sword as well" the aligator's voice came; it's voice was deep as if he had been smoking, yet in a way soothing.
This aligator was six feet tall; it was obvoiusly an aligator because of this simple fact. It's skin was leathery and rough; and a sewer green. It was wearing merchant clothes; auburn pants, beige ripped vest, and an eye patch over it's left eye. There was a sword on his left hip; it was a platinum sabre.
"Sword?".
"That's right kid, your sword to be specific, whoever grabs that sword first, will rule this world". The aligator said grinning.
"Is the sword a brass sabre?".
"Well, what else could it be?".
"That sword belongs to me, it will only respond to my will".
"Oh yeah, we'll the only way to know for sure is to find it and try it out".
"Not before i do, who are you anyway?".
"The name's kugatsu, the future ruler of this body, time to die little man".
Kugatsu charged at naruto drawing the silver sabre, naruto summoned a whirlwind to push kugatsu back. The jinchuriki took out a kunai and proceeded to channel wind chakra into the small knife, the sabre and kunai clashed. Naruto's wind power sliced throught the silver of kugatsu's sword, breaking it in two. Kugatsu whipped his large tail around to try and trip naruto, who jumped into the air and countered kugatsu's attacks with frog kumite. Even though naruto could not enter sage mode, naruto's skill with frog kumite was still above average. Naruto thrust his right palm against kugatsu's stomach causing the aligator to be knocked back, kugatsu gnawed it's fangs and snarled at naruto. The large reptile activated what seemed to be spiritual pressure, which was an evil forest green. Naruto spiked his own spiritual pressure in response, the pirate and the ninja charged at each other. Their collision caused a distortion in the atmosphere of the realm within our hero's zanpakuto. An electric chrome blue aura surrounded the ship, errupting and emminating as a piller from the broken mast. The chrome blue aura resonated with the shine of the emerald ocean , soon the aura dimmered down and only naruto was still standing on the deck of the abbandoned ship.
"Kugaku will never have tozumasen, that i guarantee". Said naruto running onto the emerald water, disappearing into the horizon.
Toshiro hitsugaiya was jumping from roof to roof of the seireitei, racing to find momo, only hours ago, momo escaped from her cell and defeated the guards stationed around her cell. Toshiro remembered the exchange between sosuke and gin at the previous captains meeting.
FLASHBACK
The two captains crossed paths intersecting each other, a fierce internal sensation, almost rival like, settled between them.
"Hello captain ichimaru".
"Grettings, captain aizen".
"You don't actually think you're going to get away with this, do you".
"I haven't the slightest idea what you're inferring to".
FLASHBACK END
The young captain knew something was amiss just from listening to that brief exchange, but first momo had to be found, Momo was the most important being in the world to toshiro, remembering when they were children, he was still living with his grandmother, and momo visited him everyday after the soul reaper academy let out. She constantly made fun of him by calling him "little shiro".
Soon the young captain spotted gin ichimaru with his trademark sneer standing on a nearby rooftop. Toshiro quickly landed ten feet away from the silver snake. The hostility was palpable, toshiro stared down the other captain.
"You had something to do with this, didn't you gin".
"Whatever do you mean" said gin with a slight frown.
Just then a blur appeared between the two captains. It was momo, the small lieutenant had withdrawn eyes. She turned towards gin and spoke.
"I know the truth, of captain aizen's secret mission".
"Momo, what are you doing here?".
"I'm here to avenge captain aizen".
"Momo, you can't defeat him, gin is too far out of your league".
"I still can't believe it came to this, but justice must be carried out". Mmo drew her zanpakuto then turned arond and weilded it towards toshiro.
"Momo what are you doing?".
"I know that it was you who killed captain aizen, my best friend, you killed him" momo's voice was rising and tears were flowing down her face.
"Momo".
"I will avenge my captain" she yelled.
Mmo took a few slashes at toshiro but soon lost her drive after toshiro easily dodged her attacks. Momo gripped her sword tight in both hands as she continued to cry.
"I don't know what to do, i'm so confused, toshiro you and i have been together for as long as i can remember, but then you, you" momo sobbed.
"This is bad, she's too ovecome with greif to think rationally" thought toshiro.
Gin flashed in front of momo and used the pummel of his sword and smaked her in the stomach, rendering her unconcious. The snake like captain then wrapped his arm around her throat and held his zanpakuto, that was like a wakizashi to her chest.
"I wonder, are you willing to cut through momo in order to get to me, captain hitsugaiya".
"Damn you".
Toshiro then drew his sword and slowly approached gin. Gin held his wakizashi closer to momo, gin feld a cold air behind him, he looked back to see another toshiro who suddenly exploded into ice shards, forcing him to let go of momo. Toshiro then flash stepped over to him and grabbed momo, once he had her, he moved her to another nearby rooftop, safe from gin. That he would make sure of.
"Good thing momo is out of the way, i couldn't promise she would have been safe if she stayed here, as i don't have complete control of my power yet" said toshiro smirking.
"Reign down upon the frosted heavens hyorinmaru". Toshiro's blue katana turned into a sword with no blade and the hilt became covered in ice.
"I see, i have no choice then. If you're actually going to release your zanpakuto in a place like this, i must eliminate you. Shoot to kill, shinso".
Gin's zanpakuto launched a flat dimension blast of a sword slash, toshisro responded by creating a wall of ice. The younger captain then countered with ice slashes of his own, like gin's, toshiro's were long range except they were blocks of ice. Gin fired some more slashes while spinning around, destroying all the ice. Toshiro then used flash step to get close to gin, knowing that gin's zanpakuto was a longe range weapon, his was a close range zanpakuto, which would give him an advantage. Gin responded to this by holding shinso in a slashing stance then using it's power, creating super slashes that cut through toshiro's ice attacks. Toshiro used his signature move by bringing down his sword with both arms, out of the sword came a dragon if ice.
Hyourinmaru was a serpant like dragon with red eyes, it made it's way to gin with divine swiftness. Gin fired more shots at the dragon, each one hardly doing anything. Hyourinmaru opened it's mouth and dived down upon gin, who used flash step to escape. Toshiro anticipated that and used his own flash step to appear above gin and had another dragon appearing out of the hilt. Toshiro was about to strike down when hyourinmaru shattered into pieces. Gin's snake like smile returned slowly. Having survived the attack, gin took the opprotunity to escape with flash step.
Bewildered by what just took place, toshiro jumped where momo had been resting and picked her up. The young captain made his way to squad four's barraks.
"What could have happened?. I lnow hyourinmaru was fine when i released him, so why would it just shatter all of a sudden?. Did somebody show up and save gin, no i would have sensed then, even if it was a member of the punishment force. I have a bad feeing about this, and this adds to my earlier suspicions. Not to mention i have to find out who really wrote that letter to momo, it was meant to frame me for killing aizen. Gin is definitely behind this and he will pay, as well as womever assisted him in escaping" the ice captain thought with determination.
Green notes from the author
i know it took over three months to get it up but give me a break, things have been hectic here, if you knew how i live, then you'd get it. I've noticeda lot of stories on here often attack homosexuality, or rather discretely make fun of it, and naruto is always paired with sasuke in yaoi. What's the problem with being gay?. For that matter have you ever seen those commercials.
*When you say "that's so gay", do you realize what you say KNOCK IT OFF*.
Those commercials were great. I also have no problem with yaoi, but yaoi is used as a parody, it is supposed to be art. In fact i think i'll start reading ai no kusabi. it's a yaoi story about a world run by a super computer named jupiter. Sounds cool i know. Kind of like code lyoko, both XANA and jupiter are multiagent systems that have become currupt. Except that jupiter already rules the world and XANA is only trying, shows how superior japanese technology is to united states technology dosen't it.
You know what else were good commercials the AT&T ones about marcel, it reminds me of L from death note.
Like i said before, i apologize for my new chapter taking over three months, and i will try harder next time. Farwell and may the shinigami reap your souls.
