This one is Percy Annabeth but if you guys like them I might try another couple. Please even if you don't like it tell me why! Chapter Nine:
"Now the estate was built in 1765 though it wasn't named Roses Mount until 1853." Mr. Grace droned on and on, leading us through the sweeping hall ways and overly huge rooms. I tripped a bit over the long skirt my step mother had forced me into and received a glare that could kill.
"Excuse me sir, I must go powder my nose." I said politely, curtsying for effect. Step mother always said that 'powdering ones nose' is the most polite way of saying I need to use the bathroom.
"Of course ma'am, though your nose looks lovely as is." The old man said with a bow and a flourish of his hand. My father glared at me as he followed Mr. Rosemont to the library. This house tour was getting more and more infuriating as the moments passed and my step mother continuously looked around for Mr. Grace's son. I walked back in towards the door Mr. Grace had pointed out earlier and unceremoniously tripped over my petticoat and right into the arms of one of the servant boys.
"I am so sorry ma'am, pardon my clumsiness." A young man's voice said. I looked up straight into a pair of deep sea green eyes and a worried smile.
"The fault was all mine sir, thank you for catching me." I replied with a grin as he set me back on my feet. He picked up the small clutch bag I had been holding and held it out to me.
"I believe this is yours, um"
"Annabeth Chase." I replied and he smiled, green eyes lighting up as he stuck his hand out towards mine.
"Percy Jackson. You must be the lady coming to visit Master Jason then?" He asked and I could almost detect jealousy in the way he said it. Not that it made sense for him to be jealous, he didn't even like me, and I didn't even know him. Yet somehow I felt like I did.
"If you would pardon me sir, it wasn't my choice." I replied curtly and he frowned at the very idea. He opened his mouth to respond but the floor beneath our feet began to shake.
"Percy?" He swore under his breath and reached into his back pocket removing an old looking quill. Nervously I looked around again subconsciously reaching towards my boot. The walls around us began to crack and an ear shattering roar was heard.
A giant beast burst through the door and I automatically recognized it as the same monster I had seen mere weeks before at my father's beach villa. Grotesque boils covered its entirety from the burns I gave it the last time I fought it and its green skin reeked of burnt flesh. It was disgusting but I wasted no time in removing the 18 and a half skirts my step mother had made me wear and revealing the boys' pants I had on beneath. My dagger was grabbed from my boot and I jumped in front of Percy who looked more shocked that I was in men's clothes holding a knife then that a giant monster had just burst through the wall of his boss's house.
I slashed and stabbed until Percy finally regained the ability to think and lunged forward with the quill which turned into a sword as he rubbed his finger across the base of it. In minutes the beast had disappeared, leaving me and a shocked Percy.
"You're a…" He stuttered
"Demigod, I am aware." I replied and began to add skirts back to my outfit and attempting to fix my ruffled hair.
"But how? Who's your parent?" He asked.
"I imagine I became a demigod the same way you did." I replied with a smirk, "but my mother is Athena."
"ANNABETH!" I heard my father yelling as he ran down the hall way.
"Come on!" I yelled to Percy and dragged him in the opposite direction past rows and rows of pictures of the gods, kings and past Grace family members as we moved towards the main exit.
"But don't you want to stay? Your family and Master Jason" He asked as we ran, he was now running alongside of me but neither of us moved to release the others hand.
"I don't enjoy arranged marriages." I said as we dashed past the doorman and out into the bust streets of Athens.
"Where are we going? Annabeth?" He asked impatiently as I led him through the busiest part of town. We ran passed many vendors all who looked at us in confusion or disgust. I led Percy into a small shop on the corner of the street once we were inside I stopped and looked around in excitement remembering the few minutes I had spent here years before. I began to explain to Percy why we hear, mentally cursing my father for my years if suffering fighting monsters with no training.
"Because of my father I was never allowed to be anything but just like every other girl. He wanted money and power and the only way he was getting that was through me. A couple of years ago after a really bad monster attack I ran into this store and met Chiron. He told me that in this store there was the secret to finding a place where demigods could be safe, My father walked in though and I have never had a chance to look, now's my chance. Come with me?" I explained and Percy nodded. It was then I realized that his deep green eyes were mesmerizing and I wanted more than anything to lean forward and kiss him. Tradition and rules were no longer important, I wanted to kiss Percy Jackson.
So I did.
