The merry band of unlikely friends had spent the past couple of days on the road, finding safe places that were out of the way to make camp on the road back home to Fairy Tail to avoid any sort of possible concept they could find some sort of trouble. They said it was because they were trying to keep a low profile but as far as Natsu could tell they just didn't want him seriously hurting somebody. Shame, he rather enjoyed teaching people manners. Letting a slow sigh escape his lips which rested below the usual mask that of course had found its way back over his features he allowed the ice chip colored eyes of his roam his companions which for once walked in front of him instead of behind. Over the past few days he had taken the time to observe as much about each of them as he possibly could before they reached Magnolia and their guild.

First up was the Ice mage, Grey Fullbuster. Natsu's eyes narrowed a little bit at the shape of the dark haired figure as it walked along side the celestial wizard. His magic was simple yet rather beautiful. Maker magic, although Natsu had encountered many other wizards with the same sort of abilities but of course with other elements none of them came close to the Fullbuster kids level. While impressed he was somewhat annoyed with the way he carried himself, not to mention he smelled like a pile of yellow snow.

Then there was Lucy Heartfelia. An odd girl but rather charming. She had been the only one who didn't outright assault him the first time they met and had frequently shown nothing but good intent towards Natsu. He actually found himself somewhat fond of her company, even if sometimes her thoughts were...childish in nature. Her magic was of course not too rare but still uncommon. He had only heard of one other wizard who held any celestial keys and she was somewhat of an oddball who rolled with a dark guild farther east. All in all he found himself trusting Lucy over any of the others so far. She was a good person.

Slowly Natsu let his eyes drift to the long locks of scarlet red hair that flowed easily in the breeze that tugged softly at the leaves that shifted overhead. Her. Erza Scarlet. She was a force to be reckoned with in both personality and in skill and power. Truth be told if she hadn't been blinded by her righteous anger in their previous bout he doubted he could have stood on even ground with her. The thought of the two fighting in earnest sent a small grin of excitement across his features and flashed a dangerous spark of want in his eyes. The thought of such a fight sent a shiver up and down his spine. He couldn't wait to challenge her to a proper battle.

The sound of the scarlet haired woman's voice drug him from his thoughts as she spoke back towards him her head shifted so she could glance back at his masked figure not quite noticing the slight glint in his eyes as he met her gaze "We are here. Welcome to Magnolia." She said curtly. Natsu's smile quickly turned into a faintly irritated scowl at her words. As far as he was concerned all he could see for miles was trees and even more foliage.

"I don't think your eyes are working pro-" The voice of the diamond dragon slayer was cut short as he finished climbing the small hill that the rest of his new found companions were stood upon waiting for him to catch up and the sight of the vast sprawling city of Magnolia was laid out like a tapestry of perfect art that seemed almost to symmetrical. God he hated people.

"Well its...certainly big." Natsu observed feeling as though he owed them at least some sort of reaction to their home city which only earned a pair of dead pan looks from Grey and Lucy and a raised eyebrow from Erza. However despite his unimpressed statement the scarlet haired knight only let a faint smile grace her lips and turned her head forwards once more to allow her hazel eyes towards the massive town.

"Just wait. The real impressive part is our home." and with that she set off, with the others in tow towards the only true home any of them would ever know, and unbeknownst to Natsu, the place filled with people he would consider family.

Fairy Tail.
