Epilogue:
Thirty years later she runs with the wolves. The feeling of dirt underneath her paws and the wonderful smells of the forest can never be something she can give up. The thrill of the kill never tires and the never ending love of her mate will forever comfort her. At the back of her mind, her past still tends to resurface. Causing for frequent sleepless nights, or other times when she is trapped in the dream. Thrashing and screaming for the torture to end, but never again does she let the fear eat her up and swallow her whole. She reminds herself, that he is dead. He is just as dead as he'd be if he were buried six feet under the ground, he is as dead as a vampire that was torn limb from limb and burned. To her, he is no longer alive. Thinking in this way, has left her with a sense of piece letting her fully live a life. For thirty years she lived with the vampires and ran with the wolves.
But then, after forty years of being forever young. After forty years of watching everyone she once knew move on. She realized it was time for her to make a life for herself, forever no longer seemed appealing. A life with Paul would satisfy her enough. No one has heard from Raven and Paul since, they know there happy now with a daughter and a son. The girl that runs through the woods is no more, instead a mother and a wife. A woman who has faced her own battles and is prepared to do it again for her husband and her children .The woman who was once so afraid has learned to trust, has learned to live and let live. Though the thoughts of Jonathan still haunt her, the thought of him again taking away the only things in the world that matter to her still scares her.
She can't let herself think of such things, for if she does. She will once again succumb to who she once was, and do what she once did. She no longer finds it appealing to lose herself in such a way she could no longer find herself. She no longer finds it appealing to run away from a battle she is too afraid to face. She no longer wants to live in fear, looking over her shoulder for the rest of forever. Yes being mortal again was truly a gift. Watching as her children grew, and her daughter ran through the woods. Enjoying the nature around her, for some reason it called to her and she just couldn't explain why. Then the boy, still small at only two years looking very much like his mother with curly hair and hazel eyes instead of green. Finally it seems that her life is at peace, and nothing can take away what she has worked so hard for.
Raven Marie Lahote- Estrella-Cullen is breathing for tomorrow, and if it doesn't end up the way she intended. She always remembers, "cause maybe there's another way."
