Chapter 4 The trouble with siblings

Hakika sighed as Pride Rock came into view of it, she could already see her brother pacing upon the ridge waiting her arrival. Taking a breath, she headed towards the den where she would rest after a long day of hunting.

"Where have you been?" Simba growled out as soon as he caught sight of her. Hakika rolled her eyes as she shoved past the older lion.

"You know where I've been." She muttered

"Zazu caught sight of you with an, outlander." Simba demanded causing her to growl at the small hornbill. "What have I told you about them?"

Hakika snarled as she spun around to face the so called king.

"What do you want me to say almighty one, yes I help them survive in the place you exiled them too." Was her blunt reply

"I will tell you again, stay away from them." Simba said clearly as he turned his back to her.

"No, I refuse." Hakika said as she smacked him upon his flank with her smaller paw. Simba roared out in anger before pinning the younger lioness upon the rocky ground.

"Simba, Hakika enough."Sarabi scolded her cubs as the pride watched the two siblings with curiosity

"I am King." Simba spat out "You listen to my orders."

"I will never accept you as King." Hakika said stubbornly as she kicked her hind paws into his belly "A, great king is suppose to be compassionate, yet you watch as others suffer just beyond that horizon."

Simba, looked over his sister she reminded him daily of his uncle from her dark brown pelt to her green eyes and even her temper was the same. And, every day he wondered if she too would take the throne just as her father did.

"what do you want from me Hakika? I've tried everything in my power to make you happy." Simba explained as he once again began to pace.

"I want you to forgive, be above those who have wronged you." Hakika said "Don't you see while you feed on the fattest antelope, they only eat rotting corpses that others leave behind." Hakika let the morbid lifestyle sinking into his swatted the ground with her paw "That is why you will never be like your father."

Sarabi gasped "Hakika apologize." She demanded as she looked from her youngest to her oldest.

"I will not mother, my words are true."

"Then, leave this my kingdom if you do not like the way I rule then Leave." Simba growled out sharply before turning his back

"I will leave, and when war comes upon your lands like a storm I will not be by your side to help you fight." Hakika ran as hot tears pricked in her eyes down the stone ramp and towards the hunting ground. The herds bolted at the sight of her thinking a hunting party was nearby.

Finally, she stopped once her paws ached and her mind was exhausted.

"What is wrong young one?" a wise voice asked concerned as he stretched from limb to limb of the baobab tree.

"I hate your king." Hakika muttered as she sank to the ground

"A fight between siblings is never good even if the siblings are very different." Rafiki explained

"He is no brother of mine." Hakika snorted

"Sleep under my tree for tonight everything will be clear in the morning." Rafiki sighed
