Disclaimer I don't own Lion King only Hakika and Kafil are my characters
Chapter 5
It had been several moons since Hakika left the safety of the den. Rafiki had allowed her to stay with him for the time being. So, here she stayed by the roots of the baobab tree. A gentle breeze ruffled her dark fur, as she let out a happy sigh. It was peaceful, no bothersome brother to tell her life values were wrong. And, no pestering mother around to scold her, when she cursed about her older brother.
A slight cough interrupted her thoughts. Lazily cracking open her eyes, Hakika let out a quiet groan as she caught sight of the large beaked, blue feathered bird.
"What do you want, Zazu?" she demanded closing her eyes again.
"It seems your manners are lacking." The majordomo scolded
A sneer came across her face but she said nothing after all she was never truly fond of the hornbill.
"His majesty has requested your presence for the traditional solo hunt of Princess Kiara…"
"Not interested." Hakika interrupted with a yawn
"As, a member of the royal family it is your duty to attend." Zazu continued
"I'm not going, and nothing you say will make me change my mind." She snapped as she rose to her paws.
Rolling, her shoulders a habit she developed before each hunt. Turning back to Zazu who appeared ready to spread his wings and return to Pride Rock with her decision.
"And, you can tell his 'Majesty' that he can shove his so called invitation where the sun don't shine." She smirked before trotting away from the hornbill, whose beak hung open in shock.
"What do you mean she refused?" Simba roared as Zazu reported back, leaving out the last bit of the conversation.
"Yes, Sire your sister absolutely refuses to take part in this ceremony." The small bird explained
Growling, Simba turned to his mate who laid down on the cool rocky surface of their home. Trying to keep the smile off her face as she watched her mate in slight amusement.
"I told you Nala, didn't I tell you she's trouble, she doesn't listen, she has no respect for her elders and …and …" Simba paced back and forth in anger
"I could try to explain things to her." Nala suggested rising to her paws
"Don't bother; if she wants nothing to do with us then she can spend the rest of her life as a rogue, for all I care." Simba replied, stalking back into the den where it was cooler
Nala shook her head in amusement, as she headed down the rocky ramp. The two lions were very much alike, stubborn, hotheaded and at times foolish. If only they would see it for themselves.
