Disclaimer I don't own Lion King only Hakika and Kafil.
Ch 9
As the rest of the pride slept with in the stony den, Hakika stayed awake watching the starry sky. Hoping that a new star would join them, Nuka her brother was gone. Born of the same father but different mothers, the two were only half of the cubs that survived the Shadow lands. Vitani and Kovu were the other half; the younger cubs had grown during their time in the Outlands. The place they lived in with Nuka, and their mother, until she killed her eldest sending the two younger searching for sanctuary.
'It wasn't fair, it just wasn't fair.' Hakika thought as tears slipped down her face wetting the rock she laid on. Suddenly she felt a paw on her shoulder, "You need to sleep." Her mother gently said
"Why did she kill him?" Hakika asked as her mother nuzzled her
"Zira is not in her right mind, she will get rid of anyone who stands in her way of revenge including her cubs." Sarabi explained
"I hope her guilt, destroys her from the inside out." Hakika muttered as she followed her mother into the den.
Hakiak stretched out on the warm rocks, listening to Kovu and Kiara chat nearby. It had been two days since Vitani and Kovu had joined the pride. And, Kiara had already taken a shine to them both. Kovu enjoyed spending time with her, but Vitani on the other hand found the princess to perky for her liking. And, took to enjoying stories of the hunting party's past.
"How are you doing?" Simba asked sneaking up on his sister
"Fine." Hakika muttered looking up at him
"It's okay to feel sad." Simba said gently
"I know." Hakika replied getting to her paws "I need to be alone." She muttered pushing past the older lion.
"Be careful." Simba called out to her
Hakika passed herds and Rafiki's baobab tree before stopping just at the edge of the scummy river that separated the two lands, where Nuka's body still laid.
"It's so good to see a pride land princess, so alone." A mocking voice said next to her causing her to jump letting out a startled gasp. Zira smiled at her pleased with herself that she had the princess alone, pinning, Hakika down she chuckled manically.
"Come to kill me." Hakika spat
"Kill you, why would I kill you" Zira smirked "Because of you my poor, poor Nuka died and you stole my other cubs from me."
"You killed your son and the others left on their own."
"Lies! My cubs love me." She bragged proudly "But trust me little princess I won't kill you."
Grabbing, Hakika by the scruff she dragged the kicking and squirming lioness closer to the river. Hakika felt her eyes go wide with fear; even fully grown she was no match for a crocodile. Zira smiled as Hakika squirmed trying to escape as a large lizard slowly made its way towards the two lionesses.
"I'm just going to make an example of you." She smirked as she watched the crocodile open its huge jaws showing off rows of sharp teeth.
