Minato sighed. Explaining everything to the people who weren't really involved in the shenanigans that they were pulling was one of the hardest things that Mitsuru and he had to explain. They couldn't just lie because they were there to see the beginning of it all. After all, they were suspicious hoods that had specifically targeted them. Presumably because they still hadn't lowered the blade on Kanashi, and that had gotten them into a rough spot.
But now, they were going to discuss what they were going to do. After all, they were just attacked by a bunch of cronies and a professional assassin.
Yashiro seemed to be neutral with that expression of his, but no-one would ever be able to tell what he was thinking. Junpei had a stony expression, which was unusual. Yes, he did get to act badass while they attacked, but they still did attack and put his friends in danger. Ken, Mitsuru, Aigis and Akihiko were much the same; they had serious expressions on. Yukari and Fuuka were worried about the situation, but they kept as stiff a face as they could. Minato and Nyx held pensive expressions, though the two of them were thinking about completely different things. Koromaru for once wasn't wagging his tail like he usually did because Kanashi… he was angry. Everyone could see it and feel it.
"So what now?" Minato mumbled, thinking about the things that they could do. Things weren't safe, and considering the amount of damage that the cronies had done when everyone was fighting them off… it wasn't something that could be left alone for too long.
Kanashi glanced at each of the members gathered around the roughed up lobby. He growled, "Look, we can't just do nothing! I ain't gonna let this thing lie if it's gonna keep me up at night for fear that a scrawny pencil neck bastard's gonna get me with a knife! I say we attack them back!"
"How?" Junpei asked. He was almost all for the idea, considering he felt the same and because something like a counterattack– what Kanashi was suggesting –sounded way too awesome for its own good.
"We still have them guys' scents around here. We can use this little trillion dollar to sniff them out," Kanashi said, picking up Koromaru, who was wagging his tail and hanging his tongue out since Kanashi's mood had picked up again. "Use him to track 'em down, and then we scout them out. After that, we fuck up their base! We'll wreck their shit!" he grinned. With that, he put Koromaru down.
Minato went over his options. They could do nothing and wait for them to attack again, possibly when they were helpless. Or they could attack themselves and get them before they could. It sounded like the best option for now. Dangerous, but better than nothing.
"Alright. Koromaru, can you get working on memorising that scent boy?" Minato asked Koromaru. Koromaru nodded immediately and then put his nose to work.
"We've got one thing down now. So, what's next?" Minato turned to Kanashi with a sceptical expression. He was still unsure of Kanashi's leading skills, considering how difficult the job was. But so far, his idea was good so he was going along with it.
"Next, we gotta scout out the base, which we can do when the pooch tracks 'em," Kanashi explained. "Once we got 'em checked, we can start preparing to break in and wreck their shit, maybe smash a few of the captain's heads together," he grinned, clasping his fist.
"It's pretty straightforward," Yashiro nodded. "I can agree with that. You guys're going along with it too, right?" he asked, throwing glances to everyone in the room.
Most of the members nodded however there were a few people that had some reservations. Yukari, Mitsuru and Fuuka in particular didn't seem to enthused, while Aigis, Nyx and Minato had no visible reactions.
"So, wassup with you guys?" Kanashi asked.
"I worry about how you are going to execute your attack. No doubt this will be a difficult task and it is very likely that you may be hurt or even suffer casualties," Mitsuru said. "If Minato and Aigis were along, I would be able to leave it in their hands as they have led before and because they have an impressive amount of battle experience. But I do not see them agreeing or disagreeing."
"What senpai said. This is pretty unsafe," Yukari said before biting her lip.
"And, I'm worried that if you do get hurt or worse, we might not be able to help," Fuuka said sadly.
"I think we can handle ourselves. We all know how to fight," Kanashi smirked. "I've had my experience and fun," he chuckled, sending shivers down everyone's spines. Who laughed at people getting beat up like he did?
"I can fight too," Yashiro nodded.
"You know me. And I know Yashiro can fight," Akihiko said confidently.
"I'm Junpei, so you know that when he's on the case-"
"Junpei-san, we can't trust you on something like that. But, if he's going, I'm going too," Ken said.
"You can't be serious Ken," Akihiko said with widened eyes.
"If I have a spear, I'll be fine!" Ken said defiantly.
"Enough," Minato said quietly. The tone in his voice was icy cold, and it just screamed the threat of having an Execution 2.0 on their hands. "Ken you can come if you train enough to be able to have healing spells on your side. And I mean, so you can use them in real life. You can't, then you're off. Fair?"
Ken's eyes widened before he nodded vigorously. "I'll do my best senpai!"
"Good. Now, the rest of you guys, you seem determined to go but you guys aren't going unless Aigis or I are leading this operation. We can do it best," Minato said, shooting cold glares to each of the teens that wanted to attack.
Kanashi clicked his tongue before standing up. "Or what?" he snarled.
"Or, I'll show you why I'm leader," Minato said calmly and stood up to level his gaze at Kanashi's. He smiled slightly as he released some of Thanatos' killing intent, creating statues as the cold feeling of literal Death washed over them. "Besides, the other one who can lead is an android that can fire bullets and easily incapacitate foes. You want her on your side too," he chuckled, looking to Kanashi's determined glare.
"What, she can fire bullets? Count you two in!" Kanashi exclaimed.
Minato threw a confused glance to Aigis before he sat down. That was easier than he thought.
"It seems that the matters of leaders are decided," Mitsuru nodded. "Aigis-san, is that alright with you too?"
"It is fine. I will do whatever I can to keep everyone safe," she answered.
"Looks like we're good. Fuuka, if Yukari is in with us, I think we'll be fine if she can try to get a hold of the concentration you need to use Persona powers without the Dark Hour or Evoker," Minato said. "Yukari, with all of us on the job, do you think that you'll be good for us to go?"
"Yukari-chan?" Fuuka asked.
Yukari sighed. She didn't want to go through with this, but if they succeeded, they would also be just that little bit safer. "I don't agree with any of this, just saying. But, you guys are pretty set. I can't stop you. I'll go along with it for now I guess," she sighed. "But if another option comes up that you guys can take, I'm off."
"Sounds good," Minato nodded. "Glad you're with us at least. So now… I think we should get some rest. We can do some training later."
Everyone left to go home or go to bed after that, however Minato and Nyx stayed put. Minato could see that she was thinking about a few things, and he decided to ask about it. "What's on your mind?" he asked.
"I've been thinking about how Kanashi is taking charge. He certainly seems determined enough not to get killed," Nyx said. "Desperation, perhaps some foolish thinking on his part… He clung onto life just like you did," she chuckled.
Minato nodded. "That's humans. We don't all wanna die. People like me and Kanashi wanna live out for as long as we can."
"That contradicts what he says when he tries to mess with me," Nyx said, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Oh, you think he might have a social death wish by teasing you?" Minato chuckled.
"Yes."
"I kinda doubt that, as funny as the thought is. I doubt he's as shallow as that. He probably has a reason better than that, whatever it is," Minato said.
"It had better be. Otherwise if and when he does not apologise, he will get the full brunt of my wrath and no-one, not even Yashiro can save him," Nyx growled.
"You go smite him or whatever Nyx. Just don't use your spells," Minato sighed.
"That reminds me. Why did you stop me from using a spell to annihilate the man that came at me earlier this evening?" she asked with a scrutinising expression.
"If you did, you could've very well killed him with your powers. We don't need any kind of dead body on our hands, and…"
"What?" Nyx asked.
"Sorry to tell ya, but killing is no social norm. Sure it happens every day, all over the world, but the guys and girls that do that are either crazy or in a war. Or both," Minato sighed. He didn't like the idea of murdering either, though he could admit that it was something that he would try if he had no other option and he was going to die.
"I see," Nyx nodded. "There must be a lot of wars," she chuckled.
"There have been. There are ones going on right now," he said with a low voice.
"You don't sound all that enthused by that fact," Nyx said.
"Because I'm not. Fighting and killing are things that should only be done if there isn't anything else that you can do," Minato said sadly. "But people do it pointlessly all the time, and that's the truth."
"Hmph. You aren't helping yourself by telling me that," Nyx chuckled.
"I'm just telling the truth, plain and simple. But there are other truths out there that can help," he replied.
"Like?"
"Like the fact that in large numbers, people and animals can do lots more than just on their own. Even better… if they're friends," he answered with a slight smile.
AN: Fuck you internet.
Plz box me yo thoughts, and imma see ya guys later.
lol: Look in the Q/A section, and hopefully take no offense. It's just for laughs.
Raidou: Yeah… I wonder if I went over the top with that. Starting? You should've worried about him a loooong time ago. Jokes, but thanks! I will.
Nights: Sure you would've. Thanks!
Possibly? And yeah, that's for later.
Because Minato was smart enough to realise that she could've done that.
Sure will.
Yoshikunitsu: Yeah, thankfully. Yeah, I thought it would work since he's been in situations like that.
Yes, they do, and the reasons are for later.
Thanks, and I will! Happy holidays!
Q/A SECTION
(Question?) knashi marr3y m3!
Kanashi: Whoa, whoa, whoa, lady, time out, enough of that, whoa! You seriously think I would choose a wife who writes in numbers? And you can't even spell my name correctly! So with all due respect, I reject you, just like Nyx. Now please, *points to a large line* Go and stand at the back of the line, and no pushing. NEXT!
