Author's Note: A belated birthday fiction for Murasakibara's birthday. Enjoy!

Oh yeah... tomorrow is Mura-kun's birthday. I wonder what I should get him? I scroll down a webpage that features limited edition flavours from KYANDI, ranging from wasabi to butter milk. I wonder if he would like them? But I'm sure he would have bought all of them before I do… It wasn't easy to buy gifts for guys, especially when he loves sweets and snacks only…

October 9th

I wrapped my gift to Mura-kun in a gift wrap that has sweets printed and placed it in my bag. As usual, I would pick up M&M along the way to school as breakfast. I was already feeling tired after walking. The moment I entered classroom, Murasakibara is already there munching on snacks, not noticing my entrance. Sometimes he does not seem to care around his surroundings once he enjoys eating.

"Good morning, Mura-kun."

Murasakibara looked up at me and greeted, "Morning" before munching back to his snacks. Usually he would ask me how I was but today, he is less enthusiastic. Maybe it's his birthday that he felt reluctant to even come to class.

"Ano, Mura-kun… After basketball session, could you wait for me?" I asked him and surprisingly my voice was shaking. It was usual of me to ask him to go walk together after school. I don't have this kind of nervousness when I asked but today am a bit off-key.

"Hm? Ok, sure," Murasakibara replied me, not looking.

When class ended, it was lunch period. We would both sit at the rooftop having bento from the cafeteria and lots of sweets but today, he left right after class without telling me anything. I felt a bit disappointment inside but who am I to feel like this when today is his birthday? I should be happy for him. I ended up having lunch with my other friends, but my mind wondered about it.

The late afternoon sets in and it was 5pm. Murasakibara had just finished his basketball session. I waited outside the school gate for him and he appeared in our school uniform, looking a bit tired.

"Mura-kun!" I called out. He saw me and went towards my direction. "Are you alright? You looked tired," I asked.

Murasakibara replied me in a lazy manner, "Ahh… I finished up my snacks for the day and… feeling restless during basketball…"

"I... I see. Urm… Let's go home."

Murasakibara looked at me, his expression showed a bit of surprised at my words, "Eh…? Why…? …I want to go elsewhere before we walk home…"

Hearing him wanting to go somewhere other than home shocked me. I wanted to go elsewhere too but I was hoping he would suggest first. "Oh! OK, sure, why not?"

Murasakibara and I walked to a park which we went before, but instead of sitting at the benches, he walked to this area where it is under a tree, and decided to sit on the ground. I puzzled but sat beside anyway. I opened up my bag and the gift is still inside. I took it out and showed to him, "Mura-kun, happy birthday. I hope you will like this." I gave it to him and he took it from me, saying "Thank you." He opened the gift and stopped at what he saw.

The limited edition flavours of all his favourite snacks, as well as other confectioneries were all in the gift bag I gave him. "I… I know you love this brand very much so I… I wanted to buy them for you." I was nervous but Murasakibara smiled at the gifts, looked at me, "Thank you very much, I… I love them." He opened the wasabi flavoured snack and broke it to half, "Here, for you too."

I blushed at what he just did. "Th..Thank you, Mura-kun." I took the snack from him, unintentionally touched his fingers and quickly removed my fingers from touching his. I cannot comprehend this feeling. He is my good friend and I think…

I called out to him again, "Mura-kun." Murasakibara was busy snacking and replied me with a word, "Hm?" It's now or never.

Not facing him but to the ground, I confessed, "I like you."

The wind suddenly stopped blowing and Murasakibara who was munching before, stopped munching. I did not have the courage to look up to his reaction. My heart almost stopped pounding. I don't know what to do but I think I looked like an idiot now.

"Me too."

Murasakibara's reply made me looked up to him in a confused manner. The next thing I saw was his face merely few centimeters away from me. I was shocked at how close we are that I didn't exhale any air. Everything happened in split seconds.

"Eh?" I managed to say something after my consciousness kicked in. Murasakibara looked at me but I wasn't sure if he was staring at my eyes or my lips because my eyes are fixated at his. "I like you too," he said before reaching to my cheeks and kissed them lightly. I was beyond speechless.
