Author's Note: Happy Valentines'! I sincerely hope you will enjoy reading this piece as I spend 3 days (with rest) writing this piece. The previous chapters are impromptu writings by the way, which kinda explains why I very seldom update this fiction xD Anyways, let me know what you think!

Chapter 13 – Valentine's 2014

The day started like any other school days, except that some part of the classroom was decorated in pink hearts. It seemed strange for an elite school to allow this, at least from what I think, but these decorations did liven up the Valentines' atmosphere.

During lunch break, Murasakibara and I decided to go check out some of the booths set up at the open space. The booths were set up only for today and it will last until the end of the day. There were all kinds of booths available such as photobooths, cafeterias, mini-game corners and stalls selling confectionaries. It did seem like a mini-carnival being held in Yosen High.

As Mura-kun and I walked to the compound, it somehow felt slightly unnatural not to held hands. I don't held hands with Atsushi in school because I don't like to attract unnecessary PDAs, at least within school compound. But when I saw a lot of couples did that, I had this urge to hold his hands but at the same time, I don't want to. Within this hesitation, my hands brushed against his and immediately I felt a grip onto my hand. I looked at it and saw Mura-kun held my hands firmly. I grinned at it and we walked to the open space.

Both of us went to the cotton candy stall as Atsushi was hungry. He bought one and started munching right away after he had paid. We then went to this stall that was selling chocolate cookies. I bought a bag of cookies and Atsushi wanted few pieces from me. I refused, saying "You didn't let me try your cotton candy earlier." Mura-kun pouted slightly, not knowing what to say. I took one piece and place it to his lips, "Here. Just kidding!" He instantly glomped the cookie and asked for seconds. Instead of giving him a second piece, I stole a kiss from him and winked, "Maybe later."

We went to the purikura booth and took a few pictures. Atsushi wasn't a fond of taking pictures so most of the pictures we took were of him in his 'boring' mood. Lunch time was about to end and many students were seen walking back to the halls. I too made my way when Atsushi tugged my uniform and I turned round to ask him, "What is it?"

"Let's stay here. I want to buy more sweets…"

"But, classes will start soon Atsushi. We'll buy them after school, alright?"

Murasakibara quietly followed behind me after that. From the looks of his face, he wasn't too happy about going back to classes. It wasn't difficult to see why. The carnival is a sweets paradise for Mura-kun, and I felt a little sorry for him. But I knew he'll have his delicacy later.

The crowd appeared again at the open space after classes. I took my time browsing through everything while waiting for Mura-kun to finish his basketball practice. I saw this set of maiubo in 12 different flavors and immediately purchased one. It even came with a neat gift box, although I don't think Mura-kun would even bother. I put it inside my bag and went around seeing if Atsushi is somewhere.

The purple-head giant was seen at the chocolate fountain stall. I went ahead and call out to him. He ignored my call as he happily eats the marshmallows coated in chocolate. I too joined with him and we ate together.

"Atsushi, let's go somewhere."

"I want to go to a place that has food…"

I giggled at his request. "Of course we will. Let's go!" I pulled Mura-kun's arm and went to the train station. 30 minutes later, we arrived at another outdoor carnival. There was a Ferris wheel as the main attraction, along with places to relax, eat or simply to sightsee. The place was crowded as usual, even during weekdays. I walked to a stall that sells sweets and Mura-kun helped himself by purchasing 2 bags of candy and ate them right after he paid for the sugary confectionaries.

"Atsushi," I called as we were walking around the place, "let's queue at the Ferris wheel! I wanna see the whole city!" Murasakibara, who was munching on sweets, nodded his head and we went to the Ferris wheel. The queue wasn't very long so it was about 10 minutes before our turn to get on to one of the cabins. I sat beside Mura-kun and cuddled him.

The view of the city from the Ferris wheel was amazing. The tiny dots of light shone across the horizons; red, yellow, white. One could see the waves vibrating throughout the sea, creating an illusion of a bouncing ball against a trampoline. The night view was certainly new for both of us and I was fascinated by it. Mura-kun however never stopped munching on the snacks. I rested against his shoulders, closed my eyes wanting a have a little rest. I was tired from the day and lack of sleep.

Suddenly, the wheel stopped moving. It caused a huge shock among the cabins and instantly woke me up. I wasn't sure how long I rested. Mura-kun dropped his packet of sweets on the floor, causing the content spilled all over. I tried not to panic although my facial expression showed otherwise. We were stopped at the highest peak of the wheel ironically and it doesn't make any better when there were no way out.

"I'm... I'm scared, Atsushi." I admitted my uncertainties to my boyfriend. There were a lot of things going on in my head but all was abrupt when Atsushi hugged me. He brushed my hair with his palm, his head resting on my shoulders. I embraced him as well, only hoping that the wheel will start turning again.

"It's alright… let's eat something to forget your worries." Murasakibara released me from his hug and took out the last of his candy pack, unwrapped it and gave me some. I munched away, staring to space. Out of the blue, my head was turned towards his face and I felt his lips onto mine. My unfinished candy inside my mouth was however being eaten by Mura-kun as he slipped his tongue to steal it from me. I released from the kiss, feeling a bit cheated. Atsushi however, pulling an innocent look, saying, "I ran out of candies already so I need to find some." Instead of feeling angry, I giggled at his answers and with a smile on my face, I uttered, "Atsushi, you're a thief for stealing my candy, y'know."

I took out the gift box from my bag and presented to Mura-kun. "Here, for you. Happy Valentine's, Atsushi. Thank you for being with me." Seeing Atsushi's happiness face was enough for me. He thanked me and proceeded to open the gift box. Like a kid receiving his X'mas gift from Santa, he was in awe over the different flavours of maiubo.

"Let's eat them together now…"

"Eh? But Atsushi, there's only 1 each. How do you want to share them?"

"Oh? Like this…"

Murasakibara unwrapped one and took out the corn stick. He placed it into my mouth and the other end, his mouth. He started munching towards me and I managed to munch once before Atsushi's lips touched mine and he declared himself as winner. I laughed after that and realized it was a while since we last done something like this.

"Feeling any better…?" Mura-kun asked as he unwrapped another flavor. I nodded my head. It must have been 20 minutes since we were stuck in the cabin. I forgot momentarily of where we were when Atsushi started playing this kind of game.

When we finished the final maiubo stick, we tally our scores and no doubt, Atsushi won all 12 'games'. I congratulated him with a surprise kiss to his cheeks. I could see him flustered over it and I was very sure my cheeks were flustered too. I looked at him and his eyes seemed to say something else.

"I'm happy… I'm happy I get to share my snacks with you…" He said it shyly. "I... I usually don't... but if the someone I shared with can understand the happiness of eating snacks, I wouldn't mind…"

I teared up slightly because it was one of the rarest times when Atsushi actually confessed his true intentions. I was crying happily and quickly gave him a hug. I knew I didn't wanna let go of this embrace. I could feel his arms around my waist and his chin above my head. I was feeling very happy, unable to say in words how warm it was for this embrace.

By sheer luck, the Ferris wheel started moving again. I managed to get the last glimpse of the city before our cabin reached the platform for us to exit. We walked to one of the cafes as Murasakibara was hungry. We sat down and ordered the 'Valentine's Special' set, which consisted of chocolate fountain and cakes. While waiting, I took out my cell phone and snapped a candid picture of Atsushi staring at the table. He looked at me, wanting me to delete that picture and I refused. He ignored me completely til the food arrived.

I love how the marshmallows and cookies were in heart shaped and the chocolate was just perfect. I dipped in 1 of the marshmallows and feed it to Atsushi, to which he ate enthusiastically. As a person who loves (too much of) sugary confectionaries, I wondered if he ever love other kinds of food. We enjoyed our set meal for the night. I was shocked when all of the sudden, Mura-kun stood up from his seat and his face approached mine. I felt a lick near the end of my lips, and he commented, "It's not good to waste delicious food, so I cleaned it for you…" I smiled shyly at him before broke out to small giggles.

During our train ride, there were enough seats and both of us chose to sit down while on our way home. I rested my head against Mura-kun's shoulder again and dozed off. Murasakibara woke me up when it was our designated train station. I was already tired by the time we reached my apartment. It was fun spending the whole day with Atsushi and I appreciated him for walking me home. He was slightly tired but still has the energy to munch on snacks.

"Thank you Atsushi. I really had fun."

"Me too… The snacks are wonderful, isn't it?"

I giggled at his statement and both of us were standing, facing each other. No words were needed and our instincts acted on their own. Our lips met momentarily, embracing each other.
