The night was still without a wind blowing. It was just about perfect for their attack. The moon was slim and covered with clouds, so the places where the light would have been were replaced by shadow.
"We all have our communicators?" Minato asked the teams. They had already come separately in their groups at different times so that they wouldn't all be caught at the same time if they somehow did get caught. So, unfortunately for Kanashi he couldn't ride in with his motorcycle like he did the last time.
Everyone gave a respective nod and placed the earpieces in. "Okay. First group, Kanashi, Yashiro and Kurow."
"Yup?" Kanashi answered.
"You're going for the generator. You know where it is right? It's down in the basement. If you forget, you can ask Fuuka or Aigis," Minato indicated.
"Sure," Yashiro nodded. "We aren't exactly blind this time, so we can go for our targets easily."
"And I know the place, remember?" Kurow said proudly.
"Alright. There's that group. My group," Minato said, pointing out Mitsuru and Akihiko. "We're going to go for the top, hopefully where Takaya is. I didn't really get to play with him very much last time, so hopefully this time circumstances will be changed."
"Okay then," Aigis nodded. "And Ken's group?"
"Well, if my hunch is right, even after we destroy their base, we might not be done with them yet, although after this, it'll be more difficult for them to give us any trouble," Minato replied. "So, I want your group…" he said, pointing to Junpei, Ken and Koromaru. "I want your group to go back to the place where Aigis managed to gain the information on the structure of the tower earlier, and hopefully we can hack in and get some information on the assassins, current targets, and the like."
"Alright then!" Junpei fistpumped.
"But if you can't find it somehow because the information could be stored in a different place or something like that, go around the tower and see what you can find," Minato instructed. "Can't find anything go join with either Kanashi's group or my group."
"Okay Minato-san," Ken nodded. "We'll do our best."
"Yup. And Aigis' group? They're basically going to be gathering more Intel on the tower, so later you can ask her for stuff. Her Persona doesn't only do scanning after all," Minato smirked.
…
"Welp, I'm not planning to lose here again and get pulled out like the last time," Kanashi said proudly as they headed towards the basement.
"Yeah. I admit that the last time the reason we got pulled out was because of the encounters with the assassins. But now we can deal with them, right?" Yashiro replied.
"Hah, with me on your side, you dimwits can get through anything!" Kurow proclaimed as he broke down the door to the generator room. "You know, I'm actually surprised that they bothered to fix the door to this place."
"Eh, they shoulda just left it the way it was before. All shot up with bullets and ripped to pieces," Kanashi grumbled. "I mean, they shoulda known that we were going to attack again. We weren't just gonna stop after we did a whole lot of damage to everything inside…"
"You know, that's kinda true. I wonder why nothing else seems to have been fixed or improved. Maybe their troops had been diminished but there were still plenty alive," Yashiro wondered aloud.
"Well, I for one am not complaining. But they did fix something unfortunately," Kurow complained as he dropped down onto a metal box with several meters on it. "I mean, the floor's covered with electrical traps, and the whole generator's been covered up with a huge metal gate that's ALSO electrified because of the traps on the floor. So, how are we getting through this?"
"Pfft. Move aside!" Yashiro ordered, and he jumped straight into the electrical field, but he wasn't getting harmed by the electricity at all. "Hah, it feels like they're trying to tickle me."
"Waaaait, you null Electricity?" Kanashi's eyes widened. "Whoa."
"Perfect den. Let's find the thing that powers the traps and get rid of this," Kurow said as he jumped on another box. "Kanashi, you can still land on top of the boxes here ya know?"
"Uh right…" Kanashi said as he rubbed the back of his head, and he followed along after Kurow.
"Huh. So maybe Akihiko wasn't far off with me getting electrocuted there," Yashiro said. "But looks like I null Electricity after all."
…
"I wonder how everyone's going. I mean like, everything seems pretty amped up here since the last time that I came with Minato. I swear that there weren't that many cronies here before," Junpei sighed.
"Hey, Junpei –san, there's something black and wet on your fist. Not to mention, there's black stuff on my spear as well," Ken commented.
"EH!?" he exclaimed.
Koromaru let out a bark as he sniffed around the wounds that the three were giving the cronies. "Arf!" he barked, but then he began to growl. He howled and summoned his Persona, and threw an Agidyne to the wounded cronies on the ground.
To everyone's surprise, the hoods dissipated into red and black mist, just like Shadows!
"What!?" Junpei yelled.
"These guys… the hoods aren't people. They're Shadows of some kind!" Ken realised. "We should tell the others. They won't have to worry about incapacitating anymore!"
"Well, but we should still be careful for any assassins and stuff. Those're still real people," Junpei said.
"Good point Junpei-san, and good job Koromaru," Ken smiled before he opened up a channel on his communicator to Fuuka.
"Wait, I said something smart!?" Junpei gasped.
Koromaru let out a bark of confirmation.
…
"Looks like we can kill these guys," Minato said as Fuuka's message came through.
"So these are Shadows. Somehow this makes sense, but at the same time, more questions are raised," Mitsuru noted. "Because they are Shadows, they seem to come in large numbers. Considering that these Shadows could be made by something else, they can be made in mass production."
"Huh. That would explain a lot of things," Akihiko nodded. "But then, we have to also ask; what's making them Shadows? They don't just pop out of nowhere."
"That's a question to which only Kanashi's group can answer. They're down at the generator room, so maybe once they destroy it, they can find out a little about it," Minato said. "But for now, we're going to have to deal with Takaya. Who's up for kicking wannabe messiah ass!?"
"Well, perhaps I wouldn't mind giving him an execution…" Mitsuru smiled slightly as she cut down a Shadow with her rapier.
"Don't mind if I do," Akihiko grinned. "For Shinji, and Takeharu."
"Heh, well, looks like I've got you guys psyched for this. We'll take him down no problem," Minato smirked.
…
"Looks like they all got the message. The things that they've been injuring are Shadows," Fuuka noted.
"But that's strange! I mean, Shadows are usually made by something else, so who could be making them?" Yukari asked.
"It isn't me," Nyx sighed. "They're being made by something… no. Someone else."
"What do you mean?" Aigis asked.
"I mean, I may be the queen of night. But Nyx isn't alone," she replied.
"You mean…" Fuuka's eyes widened.
"Yes," Nyx nodded. "It's him, the primordial darkness."
…
"Alright, so the traps are down. Time for the gate!" Kanashi grinned. "The alarms kinda went off on cue, didn't they? A lot of them Shadows are probably gonna come down now."
"That's right. We should try to destroy that as soon as possible," Yashiro said as he summoned the form of Vayu. "Garudyne!"
"You ain't leaving me behind!" Kanashi smirked as he summoned Agni. "Agidyne bitches!"
The two spells combined and formed a swirling tornado of ravenous flames that focused on heating the metal up to extremely high levels. "Alright then Kurow!"
"Heh, my pleasure!" Kurow grinned as he charged forward with a Rakukaja surrounding his fists, and a Megidola. "Imma see ya sumbitches!" Kurow's fists collided with the weakened metal, and an explosion of Almighty energy ripped through the metal gates.
"And that's how you do it! That was pretty epic, if I do say so myself," Kurow boasted.
"I can say the same as well. We work together pretty well, don't we?" Yashiro said.
"Heh, yeah. We weren't half bad," Kanashi nodded. "Now, we should destroy the actual generator. And someone's gotta hold back the Shadows that I know are filing into the room."
"I'll take care of them," Kurow exclaimed. "You guys do your working together thingymajigger and destroy that motherfucker!"
"What he said, let's go," Yashiro nodded.
"Magnedyne!" Kanashi ordered as he summoned Agni. "Hey, what's this pretty blue card? I really want to crush it for some reason…"
"Huh, indeed," Yashiro nodded as he crushed the card and it exploded into shards of blue glass. "Ziodyne!"
As the cards were crushed, Agni and Vayu appeared together. "Earth Storm!"
"What the fuck? That's a really weird name," Kanashi said.
"Eh, I'm not gonna argue with it," Yashiro waved the Fusion Spell off.
Shards of sharpened earth pelted into the generator, and electricity coursed through at alarming rates. "That was pretty epic," Kanashi commented as the generator started spewing smoke.
"Yup," Yashiro nodded. "Ziodyne!"
"Agidyne!" Kanashi yelled.
White hot flames burned through the generator, and tendrils of blue-white electricity burned up the circuits.
"I'd say that was a job well done," Yashiro nodded as the generator made a high pitch whirring noise, and it began to glow white. "And I think we should get out of here before it explodes."
"Shoulda done that before!" Kanashi said as they rushed out of the metal gate.
…
"Hey, they turned the lights on!" Junpei said as they pulled out a USB drive from an OS.
"They turned it off really fast…" Ken noted. "Looks like they did a good job there."
"Arf!" Koromaru barked as he wagged his tail.
…
"Heh, sorry to say Takaya, but we shut everything off a second time!" Minato smirked as he summoned Helel. "Morning Star!"
Takaya's eyes widened as the Almighty attack blasted through the metal and blew away the roof of the tower. "N-No, the darkness shall prevail!" he muttered as he backed towards the edge of the floor, with no wall behind him.
"Is he seriously going to throw himself off!?" Akihiko yelled.
"Bufudyne," Mitsuru muttered, and a wall of cold ice materialised behind Takaya.
"Minato! Nyx rushed into the tower!"
"WHAT!?" Minato yelled.
…
"We're done here. We should get out. I think Minato-san should be fine, and we got the information we need," Ken said.
"Alright then!" Junpei nodded.
…
"Well, that went well," Yashiro said as he brushed off the ash and dust from his shirt.
"Indeed," Kanashi nodded sagely.
"Uh, maybe not that well?" Kurow said as he saw Nyx at the door to the generator room.
"Holy," Yashiro mumbled.
"Fuck," Kanashi finished.
…
"T-Tch…" Minato glared at Takaya before swallowing down a Chewing Soul. "You're gone," he growled. "Guys, get out. I'm gonna finish this."
"Why?" Akihiko asked.
"Because I'm gonna blow up this place with an Armageddon, do you REALLY want to stay around?" Minato snapped.
…
"You better get out. I can tell something's going to rock the tower, and it wouldn't be good if you stayed," Nyx said.
"What?" Yashiro blinked.
"Just go before I blow this place to pieces," Nyx sighed as she summoned SP to swirl around her.
"Let's just go," Kurow laughed nervously.
…
"Goodbye then," Minato said as he summoned up the entirety of his SP to swirl around him.
…
"Night Queen."
…
"Armageddon."
…
Two explosions rocked the tower as the SP burning attacks of Ultimate and Almighty collapsed the top and the bottom of Strega's base.
Takaya was thrown off from the top, and there was next to no chance that he would survive that fall.
…
"Traesto," Minato mumbled.
…
"Traesto," Nyx muttered.
AN: I'm sorry, I got lazy at the end, and perhaps this time around wasn't as epic. *sighs* Not enough epicness to match the music that I was listening to. That's a shame.
Plz box meh yo thoughts and imma see ya guys later.
Raidou: Yeah, it's awesome. Haha, thanks! I like writing her like that more than when she's all snarky.
Yoshikunitsu: Mmhm. Ah, well, she might be growing faster, but she isn't done, and it's probably because I made her smart. She's a goddess, so I figured she should be, and so she is. As a goddess, she'll be more aware of what she doesn't have, compared to a human and she will become more aware of the fact that there isn't that much separating a human from godhood. Though, main character perks may influence that… Sure will!
Anakin: Ahahaha. As much as I want to go on an introspective rant… It's a secret.
Hm… I can't help but think I've heard a similar line before used in a summary.
Now, that would be a great day.
Q/A SECTION
(Nyx) Convo 1: To Yoshikunitsu.
Nyx: Perhaps… and yes. Saying something like that is easy, but doing it is a whole different story. Not yet. I don't know enough. I believe that Technodude fellow mentioned her.
If I had a Persona? …I don't know.
Hoshiro: In my opinion, Nyx should just be Nyx. But then I'd call it Dark Angel and it'd actually just be an alternate name for Nyx's Persona, who is actually Nyx. I dunno.
(Minato, Makoto and Nyx 2) Convo 2: To Yoshikunitsu.
Makoto: Of course. She's my ever lovable sister. I wouldn't put it past anyone to say that she might be an alternate version of me. You seem to know me well enough that I could believe something like that.
Minato: An alternate version of me that's a girl? Somehow, I can't help but feel that it wouldn't be something so far off, now that Makoto's here…
Nyx (2): I saw on Tartarus' records, and I know… *cough* Makoto's sister. So yes.
Makoto: …I kinda doubt what you said about you having the power to destroy or save everything on a whim though. You ain't any Hitoshura.
Minato: Hitoshura?
Nyx (2): Only the most powerful being in the history of forever. He's that bad.
Minato: *blinks* Indeed, things got confusing.
(Nyx) Convo 3: To Technodude.
Nyx: S-Shut up! You don't know me!
