"You know, I never asked," Minato said nonchalantly.
"What?" Nyx asked curiously.
"Why was it that Erebus didn't try to make an attempt to kiss you before when he met you?" he asked with a heavy sigh. He was thankful that Erebus didn't but it was still a pretty close shave. Imagine if Minato hadn't been there and Nyx actually was kissed by Erebus. That'd would've been one of the worst situations.
"I don't know. But I believe it has something to do with that childish nature of his," Nyx replied.
"Childish nature?" Minato asked sceptically.
"I mean, I told you before that he was whiny, a brat in all ways. Either that or…" Nyx sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "He was stupid enough to forget, or he's cocky enough to think that the world will end without him."
Minato blinked a few times, looking with a disbelieving face at Nyx. "Wow," he mumbled.
"Don't take my word for that though. I don't know what's going on in that twisted mind of his," she shrugged.
"I see… but that's pretty convenient. Unfortunately I don't know how aggressive Erebus is though," Minato sighed, rubbing the back of his head.
"I don't know what he's thinking so unfortunately I can't help you there either," Nyx sighed.
"You really aren't that close to Erebus, are you?" Minato commented.
"No. I just know him well enough to be able to point out most of his flaws," she replied with a shrug.
Minato bit his lip and nodded. They had been together at least as consorts for so long, but they weren't close at all. They were the exact opposite of close. They were like repelling magnets. Of course they were close together in some ways, but also so far apart. "I see…" he mumbled.
"In any case…"Nyx began, "What are you going to do about Erebus? I actually am not that keen on getting kissed by that buffoon."
"I'll protect you from him of course," Minato nodded. "Firstly, you obviously don't like him. Two, I'd rather that the Fall doesn't happen. Three… you still have a lot to learn."
"Protect me?" Nyx scoffed. "You know well enough that I can protect myself."
"I know. But being that extra bit safe wouldn't hurt, would it?" Minato replied. Nyx was about to retort, but she stopped herself. Being safe certainly didn't hurt. "Anyways, since we're over for our tests for the rest of the term, I was thinking that we might go somewhere to unwind a bit."
"Go somewhere?" Nyx asked.
"Yeah. Somewhere like the beach so that we can relax for a little bit," Minato said. "I think we need a bit of rest before we start planning how we're going to take on the rest of the assassins. Not to mention Erebus."
"I see," Nyx said thoughtfully.
"Yeah. I think I might be able to get Mitsuru to pull a few strings," Minato smiled. "I thought that SEES could go back to Yakushima." Nyx raised an eyebrow at 'Yakushima', and Minato quickly realised that she didn't know what Yakushima was. "Oh right. Yakushima is an island around the area of Okinawa, and there are a lot of beaches there and local attractions that make it nice for relaxing. It'll be good for us since Mitsuru has an old summer home there that we can stay at."
"That does sound nice," she agreed.
"I'm glad you think so. Well, I'll ask about it later so that we can get the date and go ahead early," Minato said.
…
"And that's basically why we're here," Minato sighed.
"But at a beach!? Tch," Kanashi growled, tapping his foot on the floor impatiently.
"What's wrong about beaches?" Yashiro asked with a raised eyebrow.
"There's. Water," Kanashi said stubbornly.
"But it's just wa-" Yukari started however she was quickly cut off by Kanashi.
"JUST water? Oceans and water are fucking demons, just like every other dog except for Koromaru!" he roared. "I swear, if I knew that you couldn't shut me up already with your voodoo Persona powers, I would be beating the shit out of you for taking me here!"
Minato rubbed the back of his head. "Oh gee, thanks," he muttered. "Anyways, we're going to be here for a few days, so just shut up and deal with it Kanashi."
"Don't you tell me to shut up you blue-haired—Oh hiiii senpai," Kanashi laughed awkwardly as he looked at Mitsuru.
"Yes, hello. Now, I believe that we should settle in," Mitsuru said sternly. "After that… we should go and relax."
"Oh okay senpai," Fuuka smiled before going off through the corridors to find her room.
"Aigis, doesn't this bring back memories?" Minato chuckled.
"Indeed it does, Minato-kun," she nodded with a smile. "This is where we first met formally and the rest of your friends too."
"Yeah," he nodded.
…
Like the last time, the guys were first onto the beach.
"Ahh, it's been a while since last time!" Junpei sighed happily as he stretched his limbs. "And it's just as beautiful, awesome and summery just like the last time…" he grinned.
"Yeah, it is," Minato agreed. "We came at a good time."
"Heh, yeah. I can even do some good training here," Akihiko said with a determined expression.
"Is that all you ever think about?" Yashiro sighed as he hopped on the sand. "Even I don't think about training that much senpai."
"I just want to get out of here!" Kanashi cried as he stayed the farthest away from the water.
"Yashiro, why are you wearing a fucking long sleeved shirt here? You're making me feel hotter just by me looking," Minato groaned.
Yashiro looked around awkwardly at everyone before sighing. "Fine," he said, rolling his eyes and taking his shirt off, only having a tightly bound bandana on his left shoulder.
"What's with the bandana?" Kanashi smirked. "Trying to look cool? It's not working."
"I don't need to answer to you," Yashiro shrugged.
"Don't worry about it man," Junpei laughed. "But geez! How long does it take for girls to get ready for a beach!?" he groaned.
"They can take as long as they want," Minato replied with a disappointed tone, running his hand through his hair.
"Hey guys," Yukari sighed as she walked onto the beach with Fuuka, Aigis and Mitsuru behind them. "Ken said that he didn't want to come along since he wanted to keep Koromaru company."
"Oh, I see," Minato nodded. "I guess the poor guy would be lonely."
"Wow Yuka-tan, you look as good as the last time! Maybe even better!" Junpei exclaimed.
"Junpei…" Yukari rolled her eyes.
"Um, Nyx said she'll come along in a bit," Fuuka said.
"Oh, I was wondering why she wasn't with you guys," Minato nodded, rubbing the back of his head.
"Indeed. But in the meantime, we should relax," Mitsuru smiled slightly.
"I agree," Aigis nodded.
With that, everyone separated, although Kanashi stayed far away from the water and Minato kept waiting for Nyx. "Sooo… out of everyone so far, who's the best-looking?" Kanashi chuckled, grinning at Minato.
"Well… overall, I guess Yukari," Minato replied. She was wearing her pink and blue bikini from the last time, and denim shorts. "Mitsuru's more like, stunning beautiful as always…" Kanashi laughed at that, earning him a deadpan from Minato. Mitsuru was again wearing her white bikini from before, with a white flower sitting just over her ear.
"Fuuka's the cutest," Minato continued. Unlike before, she wasn't wearing a tankini, but her bikini was a light teal colour still.
"Eh, I guess I can agree with that. What about Aigis? Hypothetically?" Kanashi asked.
"Erm… I think that she looks really nice too," Minato replied. Aigis was wearing a lilac sundress unlike the other girls, since wearing a bikini would reveal the parts of her that were metallic.
"Geez man, you can't choose?" Kanashi blinked.
"I don't choose any of them. I'm just saying it like it is," Minato shrugged.
Kanashi wolf whistled. "Hey, there's your goddess," he laughed.
"My goddess?" Minato deadpanned at Kanashi. "Oh wait, yeah, 'my' goddess," he nodded as he saw Nyx's form come through the forest.
"Totally YOUR goddess," Kanashi continued to tease Minato, almost not able to say his words as he laughed his ass off.
"Shut up Kanashi," Minato rolled his eyes and looked over Nyx.
"Hello. What have I missed?" Nyx asked Minato and Kanashi.
"Nothing much," Minato shrugged.
"Why do I sense no hostility?" Kanashi grinned. "To me, that is."
"I have none," Nyx replied simply.
Kanashi laughed and held his stomach as he continued, eventually not able to say any words.
"…in any case," Nyx began. "Do I look adequate?"
Minato blinked and looked Nyx over closely that time. "U-Um…"
Nyx tilted her head curiously. "Why the stammer?"
Minato gulped and couldn't help but notice that Nyx's long, night-like hair draped and fell so airily on her shoulders and back. Her skin was snow-like and flawless, and her body had curves in all the right places, only accented by her navy blue bikini. How was it that Minato hadn't noticed before? He was clueless.
"Dude, you've been staring at her for like two minutes now, you gonna answer buck?" Kanashi laughed.
"U-Uh, yeah! You look better than adequate!" Minato said in a rush.
"…okay. Thank you?" she said unsurely.
"Okay I'll leave you two alone," Kanashi chuckled as he walked off towards the umbrellas.
Minato couldn't help but gaze at Nyx for a bit longer, and couldn't say anything. Nyx looked at Minato lazily, wondering why he was so quiet. So she asked. "Minato, why are you quiet?"
"…you don't look better than adequate," Minato mumbled.
"What do you mean by that?" Nyx asked with a raised eyebrow.
"You're so beautiful, anything I could say to relay how beautiful you are wouldn't do you justice," Minato said, the words just starting to tumble out of his mouth as if they were practiced. But the thing was? They weren't.
Nyx blinked. What? "Um… Minato? You sound like you're trying to hit on me or something."
Minato flinched and looked away quickly. "S-Sorry," he stammered.
"Just… I don't know. I think we should get going before people actually start looking at us," Nyx said, running her hands through her hair slowly.
"Yeah, let's go, I'll show you around," Minato said quickly, walking stiffly. Did he really just say that?
