A/N - Here is a little set up chapter for what happens next. I decided to cut it off here to keep the next chapter from getting too long. Thanks to all who review, favorite and follow this story. It is much appreciated. I'm getting very close to 100 reviews. Awesome. Standard disclaimers apply - I don't own Chuck, Olympics, Cutting Edge, etc.
Chapter 30
Sarah looked out at the crowd before turning her attention to the stage area in Olympic Plaza where they were about to receive their gold medals. Chuck's arms were wrapped around her and she snuggled in, enjoying immensely the warmth of his body next to hers. The Russians won the silver and bronze medals, receiving a very warm reception from the audience as they stepped up to the podiums.
The emcee spoke into the microphone after first speaking in Russian and French "Ladies and Gentlemen, from the United States of America, the gold medalists Charles and Sarah Bartowski."
Chuck and Sarah stepped up onto the center podium to a rousing reception from the audience. Both sets of parents were there along with Devon and Ellie and all of their friends at the games. With their medals hanging around their necks and flowers in hands, the Bartowski's sang along when the Star Spangled Banner was played. When the anthem was over, Chuck and Sarah invited the other medalists to join them on the center podium for pictures and congratulations.
Bryce came up to them afterward to invite them to the NBC Media Center for an interview with Hartley Winterbottom in an hour. Sarah and Chuck agreed to be there and after spending some time with their families, headed on over.
The elaborate TV Studio was similar to the one they had been to in Vancouver, just the color scheme was a little different, red and white this time. Hartley was smiling at them while he waited for his cue to begin.
"Welcome to Olympic Late Night Coverage in the US, we are very pleased to meet again the Olympic champions Charles and Sarah Bartowski, although it was Walker when we first met you in Vancouver four years ago, wasn't it Sarah."
Sarah smiled into the camera and nodded. "Yes. Four years sure has gone by quickly."
"When we last talked Sarah, did you ever think you would be here talking about winning a second gold medal, with your husband no less?"
Sarah chuckled "Not in a million years. Four years ago I met and fell in love with my now husband Chuck and retired from skating after the World Championships to attend medical school. I thought I might attend the Olympics again as a spectator to cheer on my wonderful husband in Ice Hockey, but that is it."
Turning to Chuck Hartley asked "How about you Chuck? Did you ever expect to be here skating with your wife at the Olympics?"
Laughing Chuck said "Not a chance. I'm a hockey player by trade and skated with Sarah for fun. I'm just lucky enough to be married to the smartest, most beautiful and wonderful woman in the world who happens to be a fantastic figure skater. I just went along for the ride."
"After watching you skate Chuck, you're being way too modest."
"Yes he is," added Sarah.
"Let's talk about the final move you did, It's called the Pamchico?"
"The Pamchenko."
"Right. You two are the only skaters to ever complete the move. Others have tried and failed badly. How do you do it?"
Chuck looked at Sarah and then down at their clasped hands. Sarah spoke up. "It is a very difficult combination of a triple twist and a throw. From the woman's part, it takes complete trust in your partner as he is literally taking your life in his hands. From the man's standpoint he must be an excellent skater, have great strength and be quick on his feet. Chuck has all three in spades. I was really along for the ride on that move."
"Let's take a look at it on the screen, shall we? Please walk us through the elements."
"There are three keys to the move. The first is making sure you are spinning your partner fast enough. The second is the release point so you get maximum height and the third is getting to the catch point quickly enough. As you can see, we did quite well on all three." Chuck said.
Sarah added. "I can tell if it's going to work by how high I get in the air. I think I was higher than I ever was tonight."
"Impressive. Do you think the move will become common place in the future?"
"I don't know. I'm sure others coming after us will be able to do it, but skating is always evolving and there will probably be a new move that catches everyone's fancy." Sarah said.
"So what now for the Bartowskis? Are you going to skate in the Worlds? Will we see you in four years?"
Sarah and Chuck looked at each other and shook their heads. "We're done with competing," said Chuck. "No World's for us."
Hartley looked surprised. "Really? I thought you'd relish the idea of winning another gold medal."
Sarah said "I need to get back to Stanford Medical and don't have the time nor desire to continue. This has been fun, but that's it for us. If the hockey team wants Chuck back in four years then maybe you'll see us, but it will only be Chuck playing."
"What about you Chuck? What are you going to be doing?"
"I hope to get back playing with the Ducks soon so we can get ready for the playoffs. Until then, I'll be working on computer software for my family's company."
"Anything else you'd like to add?" Hartley asked.
Chuck and Sarah looked at each other and shook their heads. They didn't want to tell anyone about the baby until later, especially since they hadn't told their parents yet.
Hartley then said "Thank you for coming Chuck and Sarah."
"You're welcome." They said in unison.
Turning to the camera he said "Thank you for tuning in for our interview with the Bartwoskis. Until next time, this is Hartley Winterbottom signing off.
Chuck and Sarah stood up and shook hands with Hartley. "Best wishes you two. It's great to interview truly nice people for a change."
Smiling at Hartley Chuck said, "Thank you for treating us fairly. You are a credit to your profession."
With that, they parted ways and headed outside.

Dr. Zarnow heard his phone ring and glanced at the display. It was from an encrypted secure line. That meant it could only be from one person. "Hello Sir."
"Is everything set up?"
"The plan is in place. We have their schedule and know their normal routes and habits."
"Good. I will be arriving tomorrow night. The mission is a go three days from now provided you take care of the Dudeks."
"Very good sir. I will send Ryker to pick you up at the airport."
The man left his flight details with Dr. Zarnow.

After celebrating with their families and friends, Chuck and Sarah returned to their suite and took a long shared shower with all the extras. While drying off, Sarah stood naked in front of her husband and said "I don't look fat do I Chuck?"
Chuck laughed. "What, did you gain two or three grams from all the whipped cream we've been eating? Of course you don't look fat. You won't look fat even when you're 9 months pregnant. When did you take the test?"
Sarah walked up to Chuck so he could wrap his arms around her and she did the same to him. "I took it this morning. I started to suspect I was right before we left for Sochi but thought it could be because of all the excitement and additional physical exercise from training. Are you mad I didn't tell you earlier?"
Chuck kissed Sarah on the top of the head as he held her close. "How could I be mad at you Sarah? You know your body and how it reacts to everything in your life. I am really excited about starting a family with you. It may be happening a little sooner than we planned, but it will be great."
Sarah looked up into her husband's eyes and tears started to fall from hers. "I'm married to the most wonderful man in the whole wide world, I hope we have a boy that looks just like his daddy."
Chuck grinned broadly and said "If we have a girl I hope she looks just like her mommy."
Sarah broke their embrace and grabbed Chuck's hand, leading him into the bedroom. She picked up his gold medal and put it around his neck. After placing her gold medal around her neck she pushed Chuck on to the bed and climbed on top of him. Chuck smiled and said "since we're double gold medalists Mrs. Bartowski are you suggesting we try for a double right now?" Sarah smirked and said as she leaned down to kiss her husband "We're skaters Mr. Bartowski. I don't think even a triple will do tonight. I say let's go for a quad."

The next morning, Chuck and Sarah decided to go take a walk out to the Black Sea. Finding an empty bench they sat down and looked out over the water in companionable silence. Chuck put his arm around his wife while Sarah snuggled into him, putting her head on his shoulder. "When do you want to tell our parents, sweetheart?"
Sarah lifted her head slightly "Tell them what sweetie?"
Chuck laughed. "You're funny. We could make a banner and fly it behind our airplane."
That got Sarah laughing. "Yeah, we can tell the whole State of California at the same time."
Chuck got serious for a moment. "How are you feeling? Any different?"
"No morning sickness thankfully, but it's still early. I think we should wait until I'm three months along before we say anything."
Chuck nodded. "Are you going to use one of the Stanford doctors that you know?"
Sarah nodded. "I figure our baby will be born around October 1. Dr. Farnsworth is going to be at UCI Medical Center for the summer, so it will work out well for us."
They snuggled up again as the sea breeze kicked up again, dropping the temperature. A minute or so later, they heard voices coming from behind some tall shrubs. They were speaking in Polish. Sarah was listening, wishing she remembered more of the language that her grandmother had taught her. Chuck noticed that his wife was listening intently. "What are they saying honey?"
"Ssshhh." Sarah said before suddenly sitting up in alarm.
"What is it?" Chuck asked.
"I'm not sure, but I heard them mention the Dudeks and that they needed to be persuaded. I think Kasia and Damian are in danger!"
"What are we waiting for? Let's go see them."
They stood up and headed back to the hotel while trying to get a glimpse of the faces behind the voices. In a gap in the bushes Chuck caught the profile of a man he thought he had seen before at the hotel. After passing them, Chuck whispered to Sarah "I think I've seen one of those men hanging around the hotel."
"Maybe we should tell your mom or Bryce."
"Good idea." Chuck and Sarah reached the back entrance to the hotel and headed inside.
In the meantime the two men continued to talk, unaware that they had been partially overheard.
"Pichushkin is arriving in a few days. We better get this done before he arrives or we'll have hell to pay."
"Yeah, and you thought Zarnow was a pain to deal with, but with all the money they'll be paying us it will be worth it."
"Let's stick to the plan and the money is ours."

Sarah tried to call Kasia on her mobile phone to no avail. The same happened when Chuck tried to call Damian. Hurrying to their floor, they went to the opposite end of their floor to the Dudek's suite and knocked on the door. The nanny came to the door and opened it a crack. "Yes?"
Sarah spoke up. "Hi, we're the Bartowskis and are trying to reach Kasia and Damian. Are they here?"
The nanny opened the door wider. "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Bartowski. I thought I recognized you. They are not here right now. They went to watch the Poland – United Kingdom Curling match. They left about an hour ago to have lunch first. They didn't say where they were going to eat. I'll be sure to let them know you stopped by."
"Thank you. We have tickets to that match too. We'll look for them there. Is Molly awake?"
"They took Molly with them. She seems to enjoy watching the sporting events. She watched you win the gold medal. Congratulations."
"Thank you. We'll see you later."
The nanny nodded and closed the door.
Chuck and Sarah hurried back to their room to make a phone call before heading to watch the match and warn the Dudeks.

As soon as they entered their room Chuck called his mom and put it on speaker. "Hello Chuck," she answered.
"Hi mom," Chuck said. "I have you on speaker with Sarah. She overheard something we thought you should know about."
"Hi Sarah. What did you hear?"
"We were out by the Black Sea earlier and I heard two men talking in Polish. My Polish is a little rusty, but I was able to make out some of what they said. Do you remember out friends the Dudeks that you met earlier this week?"
"Yes. Go on."
"Well, I think they are in danger. I heard one of the men say that the Dudeks needed to be persuaded."
Mary paused in thought for a moment. "They come from an important business family in Poland don't they?"
"Yes. They are involved in the oil and gas industries among others."
"Thanks for the heads up on this. I will contact Bryce and let him know too. Where are you going to be this afternoon?"
"We're going to the curling match at 2pm. Kasia and Damian are going to be there. We're going to talk to them."
"Maybe you should wait until we investigate this further."
"What for? They are our friends and if they may be in danger then they need to know."
"But what if they're not? You said your Polish is a little rusty. Maybe you heard them wrong."
Chuck spoke up. "My wife's Polish is not that rusty and she said she heard their names being mentioned. If I might be in danger I surely would want to know."
"OK, you're right. Go ahead and tell them but try not to alarm them."
"OK mom. We'll tell them not to freak out."

Kieran Ryker and Necati Acar, also known as the Turk, watched the entrance to the Ice Cube from a souvenir stand about 50 meters away.
"Did you talk to our Polish friends? The Turk asked.
"Yeah. Everything is set up for after the Curling match."
"OK, but I still don't like that they're using Jana as bait."
"Agh. Your damn dog will be safe. I can't believe you're more worried about your dog than making 100,000 Euros."
"I just hope they remembered to mix in the wet stuff with the dry stuff."
"She's being well taken care of. I saw for myself."
'OK, but if anything happens to her…"
"What, are you going to kill me or something?"
The Turk decided it was time to shut up about Jana. Looking up, he saw the Dudeks enter the building.
Ryker got on his phone. "They're in the building. It's a go."
