"So uh, what did you drag me up here for?" Minato asked with a nervous smile as he looked around the rooftop, trying to avoid Nyx's curious, yet scrutinising gaze.
"I wanted to ask you about something," Nyx answered, her face seemingly stiff as she tried to latch onto Minato's evasive eyes. She came forward and stood close to Minato so he couldn't avoid her look easily.
"Uh, what would that be?" he laughed half-heartedly.
"I've been feeling something new, and I don't know what feeling it is," she said unsurely.
"Oh, I see," Minato nodded and breathed out a momentary sigh of relief. It was probably a perfectly innocent question.
"And… I feel it when I'm around you," Nyx added, running her hands through her hair.
Minato flinched, although he did his utmost to keep it under control. Ah, that preconception was a misconception. "Ah, really?" he chuckled.
"Yeah," she nodded. "You see, when I'm around you…"
Minato gulped as she began her explanation.
"My heart pounds like it leap out of my chest, especially when you say those small comments about me," Nyx continued, unknowing of Minato's increasing distress and heartache. "And, when I think about you I feel like I don't want to leave your side. Does that make sense?" she asked.
Minato bit his lip. He wasn't sure what to say to answer that. "Y-Yeah, it does," he replied slowly. "Um… do you get nervous around me?" Minato asked weakly.
"…yes, I do get nervous, but I don't know why," Nyx answered.
"And uh… maybe you feel like anything you do around me you'll be judged for it?" Minato laughed lightly, although his voice was barely more than a whisper at that point.
She paused for a moment before nodding. "Yes, a little."
Minato thought he was getting unusually warm and maybe he was blushing as he was trying to sort out what Nyx was feeling. And he had a suggestion, but he wasn't sure if he should say it. "Um… I don't know how I should answer this…"
"You can just tell me, you know?" Nyx pressed on. "I'm not going to get mad."
"It's not that I'm worried that you'll get mad," Minato said quickly. "I-I mean…"
"You mean?"
"I mean that I'm not sure if you'll accept what I'll say," he tried to explain.
"It can't be that bad, can it?" Nyx folded her arms, looking for the answer in Minato's eyes.
"Um… I think that you might be feeling… love," Minato said quietly.
"Love?" Nyx blinked.
"I guess…" Minato laughed lamely. "I don't know," he bit his lip, ruffling through his hair as he tried to calm down.
Nyx nodded. "I don't know what love is," she said. "I only know lust."
"But love isn't lust," Minato rubbed the back of his head. "I don't know how I could explain something like this to you since I've barely felt anything like this before…"
"You don't know?" Nyx asked.
Minato sighed. Bite the bullet or don't? "Look Nyx, I-I… when I look at you, I can't think about anything else but you and how amazing you are."
"Amazing?" Nyx said incredulously. "I… I'm not amazing." He must've been joking. She was a goddess, but surely she couldn't be that amazing.
"But when I look at you, that's all I think you are," Minato laughed mirthfully. "You're strong, beautiful, cute, and you helped me in more ways than one. I-I… I can't explain this."
"Do you think so?" Nyx said as she looked at the ground, her hair covering her face.
"Yes," Minato answered immediately. "But…"
"But what?" Nyx asked.
"I don't know if you feel the same way, and I doubt that you do," Minato sighed, feeling a hard-to-swallow lump stuck in his throat.
"Minato…" she mumbled, looking into Minato's silver eyes. "Let me tell you then."
Minato found himself trying to protest, but he couldn't say anything. His words were stuck firmly in his throat and there was a burn like he swallowed something hard too quickly.
"You're smart, helpful… handsome and I don't know how I could learn so much just by being by your side," Nyx laughed a little.
"Really?" Minato said shakily, any words that he had dying out and running from his memory.
"Yes," she said resolutely.
"I guess… it's now or never," Minato breathed out as he stood closer to Nyx. "Nothing else matters at this point…"
"For what?" Nyx asked, clueless.
Minato stepped and took Nyx in a hug. "I love you, Nyx."
Nyx blinked, and somehow she felt safe and sound in his embrace. Somehow, she felt that she belonged there, and she wouldn't be anywhere else. And somehow, she was melting right into his arms.
She rested her head on Minato's chest, feeling his heart beat steadily, but quickly. And when she heard it beating, Nyx knew that whatever he was feeling was real and no lie. So she did what came naturally to her. "I love you too, Minato."
Minato was stunned silent for a few moments. Then he laughed and hugged her tightly, as if he was afraid that the moment wasn't real. "It's funny how unreal that sounds, but one thing's for sure…"
"What is it?" Nyx asked.
"I don't think I've felt happier before in my life," Minato smiled. "Do you mind me thinking that?"
Nyx took a deep breath. It was all so new to her, and hearing him sound like he did was strange, but the happiness she felt overwhelmed the peculiarity. "No," she replied. "I told you before. I don't like anyone else anyways."
Minato's eyes widened. He knew that she was referring to Erebus. "I see, and you don't mind that a human loves you either?"
"What's a human? You're a person," Nyx said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
With that, Minato smiled. "Then you're the best person that I've met in my life."
Nyx took in the new lightness that she felt, and how relieved about how everything seemed to be. She nodded. Love was that thing that Minato had mentioned before, yet never felt for someone else. He also said that it was one of the hugest reasons that she couldn't destroy the world. If she destroyed the world, she would destroy that feeling. She couldn't lose this feeling. This feeling that filled the hollow void that no amount of knowledge could ever fill. And it was Minato.
She felt it was something that she absolutely couldn't lose.
"Um… the water looks pretty," Nyx said as she looked up and observed the gently rippling waves of the sea, and the amber light that reflected off the surface of the water.
"It does," Minato nodded in agreement. "But…"
"But what?" she asked as she turned towards Minato.
"You're still more beautiful than that," Minato laughed, looking deeply into Nyx's blue eyes.
"Um… thank you," Nyx said, blushing furiously as Ichor rushed to her cheeks.
"It's… it's fine," Minato smiled. "Um, shouldn't we be going home?" he asked as he observed the setting sun.
"Yeah, I think we should," Nyx agreed.
"But before that," Minato began, his hand slowly finding his way to Nyx's and interlocking with hers. "I-I want to take you somewhere…" he said shakily.
"Where would that be?" Nyx asked.
"You'll see when we get there," Minato chuckled as he led Nyx out the door from the rooftop and down through the school halls.
"Everyone's looking at us," she commented as they walked through.
"Probably because we're holding hands," Minato replied, rubbing circles with his thumb into Nyx's hand. "Do you mind?"
"No, I'm fine with you," Nyx nodded slowly, running her free hand through her hair.
"Alright…" Minato chuckled. "If you're sure. You're still new to this and I'm still new to this so…"
"You're right, we are new to this," Nyx laughed a little. "But I like the feeling…"
"I do too," he chuckled. "Uh, anyways, I want to try and get there before it's too dark, otherwise it won't look very good…"
"You want me to see something?" Nyx asked as they passed down the stairs, avoiding the eyes of people that they did and didn't know.
"Yeah," Minato nodded. "Something I think you'll like."
"Oh," Nyx said.

Minato and Nyx walked along the streets hand in hand as the sunset slowly turned from orange to dusky plumes of pink and purple. "Are we almost there?" Nyx asked as she took in the colours of the sky.
"We'll be getting there," Minato smiled reassuringly, squeezing her hand.
Nyx nodded slowly, "Um, alright…"
Minato led Nyx past a group of warehouses, and by then the two of them could smell the salt that inundated the air at the port. Minato's favourite spot. It was as close to seaside as he could get.
"This is it," Minato noted as they began towards the boardwalk.
By then, the sky was dark enough that they could see the moon and its light hovering across the inky water. The soft, milky light illuminated the water and cast shadows all over the prefecture back at the mainland.
"It looks…" Nyx seemed to be lost for words as she looked upon the darkness above and the mesmerising gaze of the moon. "It's beautiful…"
"I thought you'd like it since you're queen of night and everything," Minato admitted as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Well, I do," Nyx smiled. "Thank you."
"It's no problem…" Minato chuckled as they reached the edge of the boardwalk. "Um, Nyx?"
"Yes?" she asked.
"Are you sure that you're okay?" Minato asked shyly.
"Okay with what?" Nyx raised an eyebrow.
"I mean, are you sure that you're fine with… fine with me? I don't want you to feel bad or something around me…" Minato mumbled.
"Minato…" Nyx began. "I don't think I would rather be with anyone else. I might be new to love, but I can say that much," she smiled.
Minato nodded dumbly before regathering his words. "Okay then," he said. "I'm just… I'm just checking. I haven't really done this before either so… Damn, I'm repeating myself even…"
"Yes, don't worry about it," Nyx nodded.
"Alright then," Minato smiled. "Um, should we go back?" he suggested.
"Yes, I think we should," Nyx agreed, and with that Minato took Nyx's hand once more and they began their ways back to the dorm.

Minato and Nyx made their ways upstairs, and he was about to go to sleep. "Um, aren't you going to go?" he asked as she didn't move towards the staircase in the opposite direction.
"Not… not quite yet," Nyx mumbled. "It just feels a bit odd."
"You mean, just leaving off the moment here?" Minato chuckled.
"Yeah," Nyx nodded.
- See her off to bed.
- Keep pressing.
- Oh wait.
- They're basically the same thing.
Minato smiled a little and took Nyx's hand. "Then what?" he said quietly, pulling her into a hug.
"I don't know," Nyx sighed. "How far do you want to go?"
"As far as you want," Minato whispered into Nyx's ear, gently pushing her hair to the side.
"Aren't you the charmer?" Nyx laughed before pulling Minato's face towards her and pressing her lips onto his.
Minato wanted to reply, but he was busy being Charmed. And then Nyx finally broke away. "Me, a charmer? I doubt it," he chuckled as he coaxed Nyx into his room and locked the door behind them.
Minato pulled Nyx close to him, finding no resistance as he placed his hands around the small of her back and gently kissed Nyx. She deepened the kiss and the two of them nearly moaning as they lightly tugged on each other's hair. Nyx broke away to catch her breath and replied to Minato's earlier statement with, "You are."
"But you have me Charmed Nyx and you didn't even use Marin Karin on me," Minato whispered into Nyx's ear after gently pushing her hair to the side.
Nyx quickly began blushing when she heard Minato. "Is this where we're going? I'm Shocked and Charmed you know," she said into his ear.
Minato blushed and walked backwards towards his bed as he felt his legs almost giving out from under him. "I don't think any spell's going to save us now though. Not any time soon," he laughed.
"I don't think so either," Nyx agreed as she edged him closer to his bed.
"No truer words were spoken," Minato smiled. That is before tripping and landing behind him. "Ohh man," he said, rubbing the back of his head.
Nyx just giggled at his antics and lied next to him, hugging him and giving him a kiss on the cheek. "You're funny," she smiled.
"You see what you do to me?" Minato said playfully, stroking Nyx's hair.
"Yes, and I'm not feeling particularly guilty," Nyx said truthfully. "Also…"
"Hm?" Minato asked curiously, looking into Nyx's eyes.
Nyx kissed Minato, on his lips this time and pulled back. "Three times I kiss you and you go to sleep."
"What?" Minato blinked and suddenly he knew what she meant as he felt his eyelids getting heavy.
"Good night Minato," she smiled, lying down and wrapping him in a hug as he fell asleep. "I love you."
"I love you too, Nyx," Minato mumbled as he drifted off.
Nyx turned off the lights and they went to sleep.

Hibiki: Well actually, I wanted to join the boxing club to get some practice in on the style, but they filled up so quickly… But I saw Yashiro before, and I talked to him, and when I talked to him again a few days ago, he was with everyone else!
