When Minato finally woke up, he felt Nyx's warm presence by his side. While she slept (he didn't want to wake her up yet), he couldn't help but smile at the serene expression on her face. She seemed to be very happy next to him, being with him.
He couldn't help but gaze with a satisfied smile at Nyx's beautiful face and the features that made it up. Her deep black hair hung spread like a curtain over her torso, arms and back, and Minato slowly ran his fingers through it, feeling its softness. Her skin, unmarred like a fresh cover of snow was soft to the touch, and he slowly moved to kiss her on the cheek.
Her eyelids slowly opened, revealing her sky blue eyes, and she smiled a little at Minato. "Good morning," she said quietly, although it was loud enough for him to hear.
"You too," Minato chuckled.
Nyx's smile widened as he laughed, taking in the sight of his navy blue hair and his sterling eyes. Most of all, she eyed his smile. He never seemed to smile as much around her before, or really to anyone else. Not that often anyways. "What day is it?" she asked sleepily.
"A day to sleep in," Minato answered with a knowing look. "Uh Nyx, I'm just wondering something."
"What is it?" she asked.
"Why did you make me sleep last night?" he rubbed the back of his head.
"Well… I didn't think you were going to," Nyx shrugged. The other reason was that she just wanted to cuddle with him for a while, undisturbed.
Minato raised an eyebrow momentarily, however he relaxed quickly. "You're right, I probably wouldn't have slept."
"Indeed," Nyx nodded. "That and…"
"Hm?"
"I didn't exactly feel like going so far," Nyx said, a golden tint starting to appear on her cheeks, letting Minato know of the implications of what he was saying.
Minato looked at her blankly before kissing her softly on the cheek. "That was probably the last thing on my mind," he laughed. "Don't worry about it. I just want to spend some time with you," Minato said with a small smile.
Nyx looked at Minato with wonder before smiling mirthfully. "Alright then," she laughed.
…
"Bahahaha, so the love-birds finally got together!" Kanashi laughed as Minato and Nyx came downstairs.
"Kanashi, you're here so often and so early you might as well live at the dorm," Minato shrugged off Kanashi's comment easily as he walked to the kitchen and Nyx sat next to Kanashi on the couch.
"I ain't gonna live at the dorm, but thanks for the offer," Kanashi chuckled. "Besides, I don't think Mitsuru or your gal are gonna agree with my…" he chuckled before raising his hands and wiggling his fingers like the jazz hands gesture with a smirk. "Well, looming presence."
"Are you attempting to come off as creepy?" Nyx asked with a raised eyebrow. "If you are, it isn't working."
"Haha, I'm just kidding," Kanashi laughed before smacking Nyx hard on the back, pushing her forward a little.
"What was that for?" Nyx coughed, looking at the offending teen with a deadpan.
"That's how I show affection," Kanashi grinned.
"Weird way of showing affection, isn't it?" Minato asked, biting down on the spoon in his mouth.
"Not at all! I've heard of cartoon characters that punch people's shoulders as a form of affection!" Kanashi exclaimed. "Actually, speaking of showing affection…"
Minato rolled his eyes, waiting for the rest of Kanashi's sentence.
"Seeing how close you two are right now," he smirked. "I wonder if there was some serious 'social linking' going on…"
Minato dropped his mouth open in surprise, blushing furiously as he stared wide-eyed at Kanashi. Also, his spoon fell out. "What the fuck man? No!" he exclaimed, nearly dropping his bowl full of cereal and milk to the floor.
"Social Linking?" Nyx asked. "Well, we did sleep togeth-"
"Nyx don't finish that sentence," Minato said frantically. Nyx opened her mouth to ask why before pinching the bridge of her nose and hanging her head as she realised the implications of what she could have said.
"Oh you move fast," Kanashi chuckled.
"No! We were just cuddling, that's all!" Minato shouted.
"Cuddling with luuuuurve?" he continued, enjoying Minato's flustered reaction.
"Cuddling with love?" Someone interrupted Kanashi's teasing, looking between the three teens in front of him with a sceptical expression.
"We weren't 'cuddling with love' goddammit!" Minato snapped.
Yashiro rubbed the back of his head, wondering how it was that his timing could be so bad. "Riiiight," he mumbled. "So, you two are finally together huh?" Yashiro asked, pointing towards Nyx and Minato.
"Yeah, and the guy moves fast!" Kanashi said, cutting off what Minato was about to say.
"Oh please Kanashi. You and I both know that Minato is basically like a puppy. He couldn't be that aggressive if he needed to fuck someone so that the human race wouldn't be extinct," Yashiro rolled his eyes. Minato wasn't quite sure whether to be offended at the implications of Yashiro's statement or to be glad that he managed to stop Kanashi from going on about him doing it with Nyx.
Kanashi opened his mouth to retort however Nyx mumbled something under her breath and it just made a smile crawl onto Kanashi's mug. "Eh, you're probably right about that."
"W-What?" Minato muttered as the conversation took a dramatic turn.
"Hey guys!"
The four seniors turned their attention to the first year that called to them. Hibiki.
"Oh hey Hibiki," Minato sighed, rubbing the back of his head.
"Again?" Yashiro muttered.
"Yo my faithful student," Kanashi grinned.
Nyx looked Hibiki up and down. She hadn't seen him before. And if she did, it was probably only for a split second and not enough for her to put a name to face and recognise him. "I don't believe we've met?"
"Nope! I'm Yamato Hibiki, but you can just call me HIbiki," he said, running to the chairs and couch where they were gathered.
"I see," Nyx smiled, if only slightly, and bowed. "I'm Shinu Nyx, but everyone just calls me Nyx."
"Awesome!" Hibiki smiled at Nyx. "So, wassup guys?"
"Well, these two after about six months or something, they finally got together!" Kanashi explained quickly.
"Is that so?" Hibiki asked.
"Um, y-yeah," Minato nodded, rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. He still hadn't picked up his spoon from before.
"That's great!" he nodded. "You guys seem nice together."
"Um, thank you?" Nyx replied with a questioning tone, scrutinising HIbiki's happy expression. There was something about the way that he smiled that seemed quite forceful. At least to her. No-one else seemed to be able to tell.
"Anyways, we should throw a party to celebrate you two getting together! Whaddaya think?" Kanashi grinned.
"Well, as long as it doesn't take as long to prepare as the last party that we had. I'd rather that it is… just between SEES?" Minato said shyly.
"What about HIbiki?" Nyx asked.
"Eh, well…" Hibiki began.
"He's coming too," Kanashi declared. "And Kurow."
"Who dares call my name!?"
"I do," Kanashi said simply, looking at Kurow through the dorm doors. What was it with these guys' timing? It was weird to him.
"Yo dumbfucks, did I hear that some people got together?" Kurow said, familiarly jumping onto the edge of the couch.
"Yes, you did," Yashiro nodded. "And Kanashi said that we should have a small party to celebrate them getting together and stuff."
"Ooh, so can we bring stuff!?" Kurow asked excitedly. Almost too excitedly. He never was really that happy about anything, but it was a first.
"Yes, if you want to," Minato sighed. It looked like they were really going to be having that party. Who knew what could happen that time?
"Yes!" Kurow grinned, falling backwards towards the floor. That is before he stood up via backflip.
"You seem really excited," Yashiro commented.
"Well duh," Kurow rolled his eyes.
"In any case, when is it gonna be happening Kanashi?" Minato asked with a resigned expression.
"Why not tonight?" he asked. "You said it was small so we don't really have to prepare much of anything or whatever."
"Well, if you say so," Minato shrugged.
"Minato, aren't you going to finish your quickly getting soggy cereal?" Nyx asked, pointing to the bowl that he was still holding.
Minato raised the bowl in his hand to eye level, looking with a disappointed expression to the contents of the soggy wheat and milk. "Well shit."
"I hate it when that happens," Hibiki sighed. "But are you sure that you really want me to come along? I kinda just met you guys a day ago."
"That is pretty true," Yashiro agreed. "You know what?"
"Huh?" Hibiki looked at the capped boxer with a curious expression.
Yashiro shuffled around in his pocket before revealing (to Kanashi's horror) his Tarot card deck. "I just want you to pick up a card. I wanna see what you get."
"Um okay," Hibiki nodded as Yashiro deftly shuffled his deck, the cards a blur as they randomised.
"Why're you doing this again?" Kanashi groaned.
"It helps to have an idea of who people are," Yashiro explained. "Which reminds me; I wanna get Kurow to do this too."
"I don't wanna," Kurow sighed. "Seems dodgy."
"You're dodgy and you don't see me complaining," Yashiro retorted calmly, earning him a deadpan from Kurow.
"Alright, draw," Yashiro said, holding out the shuffled deck to Hibiki.
Hibiki picked up a card and turned it over to see what it was. "Justice?" he said aloud.
"Seems like it," Yashiro agreed.
Minato looked to Hibiki curiously, concentrating on him before closing his eyes.
"Alright, you now Kurow," Yashiro sighed. Hibiki was Justice huh? From what he knew he at least seemed like he matched up with the Arcanum.
"Grah, fine, whatever," Kurow groaned as he waited for Yashiro to finish reshuffling.
"Minato, can you feel something?" Nyx asked as she saw him concentrating on Hibiki.
"Yeah," he nodded. "Hibiki has the potential."
"Figures," Nyx sighed.
"Come on, draw already, it's not like a little card is going to hurt you or anything," Yashiro sighed.
"I beg to differ!" Kanashi turned his nose up, remembering the time that Yashiro ninja threw that card at him. He saw it leave a fucking cut in the pillar that it was stuck in!
Yashiro rolled his eyes as Kurow finally relented and drew a card.
"Hanged Man," Kurow declared.
"Huh, I wasn't expecting that one," Yashiro mumbled as Kurow put the card back in his deck.
"What does it mean, Yashiro-sensei?" Hibiki asked.
"Justice is basically seeking equality and fairness," Yashiro explained. "Hanged Man usually means either not being able to do anything, or to see from a different perspective."
"That doesn't sound foreboding at all," Minato sighed.
AN: I shall start the next conflict. Going off on a tangent… GO ON AND STICK WITH YOUR CANONICAL PAIRINGS, SEE IF I CARE! *cough* I feel better now. Back on topic, I'm sorry I took a bit longer with this chapter, but I didn't have much time to write and not much inspiration to go off of. I'll try to get back on track, even if school has anything to say about it!

I don't even know if Chaos knew what eggs were before he made them. It doesn't particularly make sense to me.
It probably was just a shield and that was all she wrote. Just to humans… That shield LOOKED like what you knew as an egg. You can't argue that it was intentionally an egg, because eggs are what you humans knew as the things that birds and reptiles lay.
