Winter was fully in swing. The skies were cloudier; the clouds even more grey; the winds colder and shivers from everything were everywhere. Not to mention of course, the main highlight; the snow. Nyx idly watched the tiny white specks and flakes drift down from the comfort of Minato's room. "It's snowing…" Minato noted with an almost sombre expression.
"Yeah… I haven't seen snow before," Nyx sighed. "It looks kinda pretty," she mumbled, turning back to Minato.
"I think so too," Minato laughed a little. "But you're still prettier."
Nyx's eyes widened ever so slightly. Her upturned lips trembled and she laughed. "I'm glad you think so."
Minato nodded at that, ruffling her hair playfully with a silly grin.
…
Nyx breathed out in the cold air, thinking of what Minato would say to what she was thinking. There were feelings that she felt, much stronger than any that she had felt before. She could feel happiness, sadness, confusion, anger and all of these other emotions, but love was strongest of all. It was something of a warm embrace that lifted you from your feet. It was kind of like how Minato would embrace her.
But would it end after he was gone? He was most certainly going to die. Minato might've been powerful but not even a human could resist death for that long. All humans were destined to die unless they relinquished their humanity and became something else, like a god or demon.
"I haven't seen you so sombre before." Nyx gasped as she heard the voice, looking around. The streets were empty.
"What do you want?" Nyx grit her teeth.
"Simply checking on you. I never would've imagined feeling something like nihilism from you of all people, Nyx," Erebus laughed as he appeared in a dark shadow. "What has Minato done now?" he asked with a mirthful laugh.
"It's none of your business Erebus. You wouldn't understand," Nyx snapped as she began charging her spiritual energy for an attack.
"Aren't you vicious," Erebus grinned, too building up his SP. "Or…"
"Are you afraid?"
Nyx glared at Erebus as he appeared behind her, pulling back her hair. "Don't touch me," she growled as she grabbed his wrist and threw him away from her.
"Pfft. If you say so," Erebus laughed. "Does Minato do a better job?"
"Yes, you imbecile. Now get away from me before I my will to keep you away turns to my will to tear you into unrecognisable shreds," Nyx snarled, summoning her broadsword into her hand.
"Where'd you get all that sass?" Erebus teased, summoning his own broadsword into his hand. It was the same kind as the one that Nyx wielded.
"You think I didn't have that before?" Nyx scoffed as she flashed forward and slashed downwards onto Erebus' head. The god of Darkness blocked the strike with his own and pushed his sword back against Nyx's, shoving her backwards so that she had to get new footing.
"Maybe. You were about as dead as a board before," Erebus replied as his sword began glowing red with spiritual energy.
"You're still boring as ever though," Nyx shook her head as she charged her sword with SP of her own. She expected a red glow to appear, just like Erebus', but instead it was cyan blue to match her eyes.
"Ooh, what's that?" Erebus laughed as he swung his blade, sending razors of Almighty energy at Nyx.
"Does it matter?" Nyx rolled her eyes. Admittedly she had no idea why it was different, but she blocked the Almighty SP with her sword anyways.
"Perhaps not," Erebus shrugged.
"Stop beating around the bush Erebus. You and I both know that our meeting here wasn't a coincidence, so spill it," Nyx growled.
"Just cutting right to the chase," Erebus sighed. "Well. You aren't exactly in the best of places when Minato's most certainly going to leave you broken and alone after all of it is over. Why don't you just bring the Fall right now? Then you wouldn't have to suffer any more…" he smiled as Nyx as stunned silent. "We just have to kiss and then everything would be over."
"W-What…?" Nyx gulped, feeling more fear than she had felt in all her years coming to the surface. She hadn't thought of that before. "But… I'd be betraying Minato…" she said shakily as her broadsword disintegrated. "And everyone else…"
"They wouldn't even know," Erebus smirked. "It'd all be over in a flash. And besides. Wouldn't Minato want you to be happy? You wouldn't have to feel as sad if you just cut everything off now."
Nyx's heartbeat was racing as she even started to consider it. "I-I…" she mumbled, her mind going through the possibilities.
"Hmph…" Erebus scoffed as Nyx fell into her thoughts, and he cast Primal Darkness upon her.
"Sweet dreams, Nyx."
…
Minato woke with a start, feeling a huge surge of SP wash over him leaving him with a headache and nausea as he gathered his breath. Immediately trying to calm himself down, he brought his concentration to an all-time high as he searched for Nyx.
He wasn't blind to Nyx's troubles. Minato could see it on her face, but he chose not to ask because he knew that whatever was wrong would just take its time for Nyx to sort out. She was smart like that. But maybe he should have asked…
She left earlier in the evening to get some fresh air…
He almost couldn't feel her SP signature, almost as if it was being overshadowed by something greater. Something, or someone… like Erebus.
Minato quickly got dressed and burst out his room, surprising Akihiko and Junpei as he ran downstairs. "Whoa dude, what's wrong!?" Junpei shouted frantically as Minato skidded to a halt.
"There's something wrong with Erebus and Nyx!" Minato exclaimed, running down the stairs as fast as he could, almost tripping down the steps as he missed two, no… three of them.
"M-Minato-san, what's happening?" Hibiki asked with widened eyes.
"There's something up with Nyx and Erebus…" Minato bit his lip, running his hands through his hair.
"What happened to Nyx?" Yashiro blinked, not used to seeing Minato so frantic.
"I think she might've gotten caught up with Erebus somehow… like kidnapped or something… we have to find her!" Minato explained quickly, his words nearly flying out his mouth.
"Slow down dumbfuck, you better calm down. You ain't gonna find out where she is like this," Kurow sighed. "Let's kinda just concentrate on finding her, maybe get that Fuuka chick back in here!"
Minato blinked. Kurow for once was right. He had to calm down…
"Minato!" Fuuka ran down the stairs. "Junpei and Akihiko-senpai told me what happened… I'll find her," she said with a determined face.
"Thank you…" Minato let out a small sigh of relief.
Kanashi jumped up to his feet. "Man, this is some shit. I have a pretty bad feeling about this yo."
Fuuka called upon her Persona, Juno and closed her eyes. "I do too," Yashiro agreed. "I feel like Erebus might've been waiting for something like this to happen. Up until now he hasn't ever shown up since the time that he imposed that challenge on us. Maybe he's intending to end this all in one go, and he's going to lure us in so that we could get attacked by his assassins. This is going to be a trap, I know it."
"A risk I'm willing to take. If she isn't safe… and Erebus actually manages to kiss her, then we're done for!" Minato grit his teeth.
"Everything's just going downhill from here," Akihiko shook his head.
"This really doesn't sound good," Ken bit his lip.
"Nyx's been kidnapped?" Yukari's eyes widened.
"Indeed, that seems to be the case," Aigis came down with Yukari and Mitsuru.
"How is our progress?" Mitsuru asked.
"I found them!" Fuuka exclaimed. "They're in one of the warehouses near the docks," she explained.
Minato blinked. That place? "We have to get over there quickly," he nodded.
"Whoa, you are going to bring us along right? You ain't gonna be able to handle this alone man!" Junpei exclaimed.
Minato stopped walking. Was he actually thinking of going after Nyx himself because he was that frantic?
…he needed his friends along with him. Something was telling him that this was going to end all of it. Everything. "Will you guys help me? All of you?" Minato asked with a small smile, looking at everyone in the lobby.
"Hell yeah man. You're gonna get yourself killed if ya don't have a trusty team, even if you're official or unofficial leader," Kanashi grinned, pulling his arm around Yashiro's neck.
"Goddammit Kanashi. But yeah. You're gonna need all the help you can get," Yashiro nodded.
"I'm gonna pull along pipsqueak. He's gonna help," Kurow smirked, putting his hand on Hibiki's head.
"Hey! Oh… well, of course I'll help you guys!" Hibiki smiled. "We gotta be careful!"
"We're going along of course," Mitsuru gave a small smile.
"Heh. We're gonna kick some ass!" Junpei grinned.
"We'll do our best to help," Yukari and Fuuka said. Aigis nodded at that.
"Yeah," Ken nodded. "This'll be interesting."
"That's my line," Akihiko laughed. "Let's go. It'll be just like old times."
"Arf!" Koromaru jumped into Ken's arms.
"Haha, we aren't going to forget about you, Koromaru," Ken laughed. "Let's get going!"
…
"Guys, there are four assassins coming to intercept us," Fuuka informed everyone.
"Hey, would you guys be okay facing them?" Minato asked, turning to Mitsuru, Akihiko, Yukari, Ken, Koromaru and Junpei.
"Sure. We can take 'em no problem!" Junpei grinned.
"But… we have to kill them. That's what Erebus said," Minato bit his lip.
"There's only so much we can do…" Mitsuru closed her eyes. "If we have to, then we will."
"Thank you," Minato breathed out a sigh of relief. Catch up with us as soon as you can," Minato instructed, leaving that team behind.
…
The team reached the warehouse where Erebus was hiding out. Fuuka immediately exclaimed, "There's a huge power signature here… and it isn't Erebus!"
Kurow's eyes widened as he bit his lip. "I see. Leave us guys. You go on Minato," he said, giving an almost pleading look to the blue-haired leader.
"Are you sure?" Minato blinked.
"Heh, whatever comes, we can take it!" Kanashi grinned.
"Yeah, don't worry about us," Yashiro nodded.
"We are sufficient," Aigis gave a small smile to Minato.
"I'm in for this scrap," Hibiki grinned.
Minato looked over all of them, including Fuuka. "Alright then… if you're sure," he sighed. "Don't die," he laughed, running ahead.
…
Minato ran on, finding that Erebus' SP signature was coming even closer to him as he kept moving forward. Nyx…
"Nyx, tell me what's wrong after all of this is over," Minato mumbled aloud, skidding to a stop as he found Erebus and a sleeping Nyx behind him.
"Erebus," Minato growled.
"Welcome," Erebus grinned back.
AN: Ah, I'm going to the end. This'll be a romp. (Hmph. And I was pretty sure that the other 'Days of' series was going to end first, but apparently not.)
Plz box me yo thoughts and imma see ya guys later.
Yoshikunitsu: According to the mythology, Chaos was the swirling THING before everything else existed, kinda forming the blackness of void and stuff. So going along that, Chaos would be the most powerful thing. Ever.
Haha, kind of. But those moments don't last forever. Yes, she's very smart. It's probably something she would realise.
I dunno about that, but maybe!
Yup, everything's going down. I will!
Rickyp01: Oh gosh, thanks! Giving me praise for those two episodes… really thanks! I'm glad that you enjoyed Nyx's depth since I wanted to lead it somewhere. It's fine! I appreciate the review regardless.
Raidou: Kinda, yes.(Kinda ironic though…)
Nights: Haha, thanks! A lot has changed, ne?
lol, I will.
