"Where is this huuuuuge power source? I don't see any," Kanashi tapped his foot impatiently.
Kurow shook his head. This was not going to end well. Not at all. He could just feel it. "That'd be me," he heard a very familiar voice say.
"Who's 'me'?" Yashiro wondered aloud.
A black blur appeared in front of the group, standing tall and imposing despite her height. "Me. I'm Mage. Or as it might be better known to you all… my name is Hikari," she said.
"Pfft. Erebus sent just one minion to stop us?" Kanashi laughed.
"Hmph," Hikari just kept staring ahead, and she was starting to unnerve Kanashi since she wasn't reacting to his snark at all. "Might as well have sent two," she muttered, glancing for a moment at Kurow before turning back to the group.
"We have to eliminate her," Aigis said, readying her guns and Persona.
"Whoa…" Hibiki mumbled. "She feels pretty powerful though," he noted.
"Doesn't she just?" Kurow chuckled mirthfully. "Omega Cluster!" he snarled, releasing a large proximity blast of black and red energy at Hikari.
Hikari braced herself for the powerful Dark and Almighty attack, but she stood strong again as the light faded. "She resists Darkness," Fuuka said.
"I know," Kurow muttered as he blitzed to Hikari's location and threw a Megidolaon infused and Rakukaja-ed punch at her. Hikari attempted to counter Kurow with her own Megidolaon infused fist and knocked him backwards.
"And you can't win if you can't summon your Persona," Hikari stated.
"Oh yeah. Kurow can't summon his Persona properly…" Hibiki said. "Tch… We're gonna help him, right?" he asked, turning to Kanashi and Yashiro.
"Well duh," Kanashi smirked. "He's still getting his ass whooped over there. Predation!" he called, a bird-like plume of fire charging towards Hikari at high speeds.
"Makarakarn," Hikari smirked, reflecting the fire back at Kanashi with a mirror. He was ready to absorb the attack but he didn't get to do that.
"Makarakarn!" Hibiki retaliated, throwing a golden mirror up of his own that Hikari wasn't expecting.
"What?" Hikari's eyes widened as she dodged the reflected attack. "Well. That's a no go. Great," she muttered.
"Nice job Hibiki," Yashiro grinned. "Winds of Fate."
"What's that?" Hibiki wondered as breezes began flowing.
"You'll see," Kanashi grinned.
"Um okay…" Hibiki mumbled.
"You're doing well Kurow," Hikari commented as Kurow sent a flurry of Gale Slash attacks at her.
"Tch," Kurow gritted his teeth. She was just joking about it. "As if," he growled. "Megidolaon!" A purple and gold blast of energy shot towards Hikari, and she negated the attack with a combined Agidyne and Garudyne.
"The crow seems to be having a hard time," Kanashi said. "Hurry up Yashiro!"
"Shut up Kanashi," Yashiro rolled his eyes and before anyone could even blink, he was behind Hikari and aiming a Panta Rhei at her back. "Let's go," he grinned, Hikari barely having any time to try and block that unexpected attack.
"Tch… these guys are powerful," Hikari commented as she tried to recover from the attack. "They would beat your ass if they knew what you did…" She rolled out of the way of Aigis' God's Hand attack, however barely.
"Don't even think about it," Kurow glared as he stepped forward and pinned her against the wall. Not hard enough apparently as she could escape his grip easily and pushed him aside.
"You obviously don't have the balls to hurt me, do you?" Hikari shook her head. "You could've easily killed me then."
Kurow growled and grit his teeth. It was true.
"Wait, why's he hesitating?" Yashiro's eyes widened.
"I have no idea…" Kanashi shrugged.
"B-Be quiet…" Kurow demanded.
"No. I'll tell them what you were," Hikari narrowed her gaze. Kurow shook his head, still clenching his teeth. "I would. After all, you aren't an assassin anymore like us, are you?" she laughed. "Maybe if you had still been on our team then I wouldn't tell, but you aren't."
"Kurow-san used to be an assassin?" Aigis' eyes widened.
"What?" Kanashi blinked.
"So what?" Kurow asked.
"Everything. Because you betrayed everyone," Hikari stated. "Especially your 'friends'," she continued, indicating Kanashi most of all.
"Megidolaon!" Kurow snarled, throwing another of the Almighty attacks at Hikari. However, she shrugged the blast off. She could feel his Personae weakening.
"What does she mean Kurow?" Kanashi looked at Kurow with widened eyes.
"…I found it strange that the assassins always seemed to know where we were, whenever we were more vulnerable," Aigis said. "The only way it would've worked is if they had someone telling them what we were doing on the inside…"
Yashiro's eyes widened.
"…oh someone's going to get bodied," he mumbled.
"What?" Kanashi's voice became dangerously low.
"You're smart," Hikari said. "Yeah. It was part of our plan all along to have someone infiltrate your group, so that they would be able to tell us when it would be best to strike. Remember that stupid party that you guys threw that he brought space cakes to?"
"You can't be serious!" Hibiki looked to Kurow, seeing no signs of defiance on his face. There was only resignation. And she was just tearing through Kurow. He wasn't completely sure whether it was because it was part of her job, or whether it was because he completely left her, but it still hurt.
"And not to mention…" Hikari continued. "Kanashi's girlfriend?"
Kanashi looked at Kurow accusingly. "What is she saying? Tell me goddammit!"
"Kanashi…" Yashiro mumbled.
"For a start, he told Illusion about your girlfriend," Hikari said, pointing her voice towards Kanashi this time. "And it certainly wasn't because your girlfriend was a bitch that you guys broke up. It wasn't any coincidence."
Kanashi was silent, and didn't seem inclined to move. But under all of it, his heart was pounding in his ears, and racing.
"Because, Kurow told Illusion about your girlfriend… well. She killed her and used her illusions on you so that you wouldn't even notice that she was gone," Hikari explained. "Most of the reasons as to why you were attacked and why anything bad happened were because of Kurow."
"You're obviously forgetting what he did that was good for us," Hibiki cut in, bringing Kurow, Hikari and Kanashi to attention.
Hikari raised an eyebrow under her hood, waiting for him to finish his sentence. "Persona."
"What?" Hikari mumbled.
"Pipsqueak?" Kurow's eyes widened as a blue glow began to emanate from Hibiki.
A powerful roar echoed through the air, reverberating through the metal, travelling through the ground and shaking the people in the room. In a blast of blue mist and glass, a long, serpentine body coiled into place, the pattern broken by clawed limbs and a great, monstrous head. It opened its maw and stared down what stood before it with its piercing blue eyes. Large wings overshadowed everything in its path. "Because obviously you guys might've missed that fact that I'd awakened and it was pretty inevitable that I was going to summon it and wreck everything?" Hibiki smirked.
'Holy shit' dropped out of Kurow's mouth as he looked at Hibiki's Persona. It was fucking huge!
"Bullsheep," Yashiro mumbled.
"Kouri Ryu!" Hibiki called, and the dragon behind him split into tiny bits of ice, before shooting into Hikari. The particles flew at high speeds into her, finally encasing her in a cold block. The block broke into small pieces, reforming into the dragon form that it was before.
"Holy sheep," Yashiro blinked.
"Guh…" Hikari groaned, dropping to her knees. "Guess that didn't work… Eris…" she muttered, a girl in a white nightgown, with pale skin and dark hair that covered her face appeared. What was of note though, was that she was holding a golden apple in her hands.
"Shit! Brace yourselves!" Kurow demanded.
The team exchanged looks before preparing to guard against whatever was coming. Except Kanashi.
"Megidoladyne," Hikari murmured. The girl dropped the golden apple onto the ground, and a white flash of light filled the area, engulfing everyone's vision.
Silence.
Kurow panted and dropped to a knee in front of Kanashi, taking the brunt of the Almighty magic that Hikari had thrown at everyone. In fact, every team member was hurt seriously by that attack. "S-Shit…" he grinned.
"Tch… Kurow…" Hikari gritted her teeth before collapsing to the ground. That last attack took all of her spiritual energy.
He gathered his breath, a blue glow starting to emanate faintly from him. "He's summoning?" Hibiki's eyes widened as he tried to stand up.
"Persona…" Kurow grinned. Two ringing screeches sounded.
"What now?" Aigis wondered aloud.
"Omega Cluster… Nova Kaiser," he muttered as two, nearly pitch black ravens appeared in the plumes of blue mist and glass. One of them had a purple glow, and the other had a yellow one, emanating from their wizened eyes.
"You summoned," Hikari laughed a little, however painfully.
Wordlessly, black and white beams of energy came forth from the two ravens, spiralling towards Hikari. Searing pain coursed through her from the hot blasts of Almighty magic, and she was knocked against the wall. Kurow walked to her as she slid down the wall, and he snatched his knife from his pocket.
"I'm sorry."
The blade plunged deep into Hikari's stomach, and despite the state she was in, she laughed. "I'm sorry too, Kurow…" She slumped onto Kurow's shoulder, and her last bit of strength was used to hug him as tightly as she could. "I'll see you… and I love you…"
Kurow breathed out heavily, feeling and letting her blood soak into his shirt. "I love you too," he murmured as he pulled out his knife and threw it to the side. "I'll see you someplace else."
Hikari smiled ever so slightly before her strength finally waned and she leaned onto Kurow with her last breath.
AN: Oh god… Next is Minato and Erebus…
Plz box me yo thoughts and imma see ya guys later.
Raidou: Haha, thanks. I'm a bit sad that they died too. Yes, muchly.
*pats*
Yoshikunitsu: Yeah. I kind of noticed before that people with Personae that were related to Nyx well… died. Including Minato, but he got off better than the rest though.
That is a question, ne? Maybe I can make something related to that question later, since I haven't really gotten that sorted out yet tbh.
Indeed I will. And yeah. He'll need it.
Technodude458: Right…
