A/N: Hey everyone! Here's my next chapter. Sorry for the slow updating as it was my birthday over the weekends and it sucks that I had to fall sick so I had time to upload one. Enjoy^^

The Princess and the Dragon Slayer

Chapter 22

Lucy's POV

My tears wouldn't stop streaming down my cheeks as I stared out of my window. I immediately locked myself in my room after Natsu was forced to the prison cells. I couldn't do anything to stop the guards from taking him away since my father, the king, gave the order to. I was so disappointed with myself that I couldn't do anything to protect him. What's worst is I've finally gotten the courage to confess to my father that I've fallen in love with Natsu but he didn't even gave a moment to consider about my feelings.

I had my fingers interlock with each other like in prayer in front of me. I looked down in defeat and clenched my fingers tighter as I was so furious with myself. I shouldn't be standing here and crying. I should be staying positive that there's a way for Natsu to get out here. I need to save him even though it might go down to not seeing and being with each other for life then so be it. It's better than I see him get hang.

My thoughts were interrupted once I heard a knock on my door. I didn't let anyone in except Virgo or the rest so once I knew it was one of them after hearing their voice through the door, I went to unlock the door and let them in. Loki, Capricorn and Virgo came strolling in so once they were fully in my room, I went to close and locked the door.

I slowly walked back to my spot in front of my window, with my dress mopping the floor as Virgo, Loki and Capricorn stood by at my bed. I could tell they were facing my back in silence as no words have been exchanged yet so I decided to be the one to break it.

"We need to help Natsu. Capricorn, Loki, have you found out how to get him out of there?"

"It's possible to your princess." Capricorn answered on behalf of everyone.

"Good." I turned around so that I can looked at them and was shocked to see everyone's faces filled with despair especially Loki.

"Can I ask what's wrong with you Loki?"

"Will you be alright Princess?"

I was struck dumbfounded when Loki popped up that question. "Why? What do you mean?"

"I mean without Natsu? Will you be able to go through with life marrying someone else and not him?" Loki paused for a while before continuing. "After all you two have mated so it won't be easy for Natsu to be away from you."

To be frank, Loki was right but I couldn't live with the fact that Natsu will be murdered by my very own father's guards without me doing anything that could save him.

"I have to Loki. Even if I do not get happiness, at least I know Natsu is able to continue his life to the fullest in the world out there."

"You think that is what Natsu wants, hime?" This time, Virgo cut in and questioned me. Before I could dwell on that question, the castle started to shake causing us to grab hold on something for support. With that, Capricorn immediately ran to the window to check out what's causing the commotion and the look on his face wasn't a good one.

"We need to take the princess to the underground chambers. The castle in under attack."

I was actually very shocked when I heard that because it made me think of so many things like who was attacking us and why. I saw Virgo nodded her head before grabbing my arm so that she could pull me up.

"Loki, I need you to get everyone to prepare for battle and I mean everyone. I'll join you once the princess is out of harm."

Loki looked lost for a while before it looked like he finally understood what Capricorn actually meant which got him to nod his head back in reply before running out of the room. I didn't know what was going on between them actually but I didn't have time to think about this now. I needed to be on high alert for Virgo and Capricorn.

We were running down the halls and I couldn't help but to take a few glances out of the corridor window as I saw our guards attacking back and defending the castle. After reaching the end of the hallway, we ran down the flight of stairs to the first floor where we have to change to another flight of stairs to reach our destination but we couldn't proceed through as two guys were blocking our way.

"Well, well. Isn't that the princess of Fiore Rogue?"

"That was easy finding her, Sting."

"You won't get her that easily. You'll have to get through me to get our Princess and I assure you, I won't make it that easy for you." Capricorn said as he moved in front of us to his battle stance.

The blond guy laughed out loud evilly. "My, my. You cracked me up. You think it's easy for you to take down two dragon slayers?" The blond guy said before he went charging towards Capricorn.

Before I could absorb the information fully, Virgo was already pulling me to run to the other side.

Those two were dragon slayers?! What the hell are they doing over here?! Capricorn could hardly stand up to Natsu alone. It will be hard for him to defeat both of them. All these thoughts were running through my head on a spree which made me decided to come to a halt making Virgo stopped along with me.

"Hime?"

"We can't leave Capricorn alone over there! He's going to get beat down badly!" I screamed at Virgo.

"I know Hime but your safety is our first priority now." Virgo grabbed my arm and started to pull me again as she ran.

I decided to comply with her as I could tell from Virgo's face that she didn't want to leave Capricorn also but right now, all of them were thinking of my safety first. Sooner or later, we reached the underground chambers through another route and to my disbelieve, Mystogan was standing there also.

"Mystogan?" I questioned him.

"Oh good princess, you're safe. The king wanted me to bring you to him." Mystogan was about to grab my hand but I dodged it.

"NO!" I could tell from Mystogan's face expression that he was stunned by my action. "I'm not going to forgive neither you nor my father especially after what you did to Natsu."

Mystogan just looked down before he removed his mask. Then he smirked and looked back up at me. "Princess, no offence but how long do you think of keeping this a secret to the king? He will find out eventually and furthermore the sudden scales that appeared on Natsu's body that was on him and not on me."

I thought about it for a while and I hate to admit it but Mystogan might be right on this one. There will definitely be one day that Natsu's dragon slayer characteristics will be shown not knowingly but it's a matter of when and where. I just didn't think it will be this soon because I was planning of changing my father's thinking about dragon slayers first before I actually reveal Natsu to him.

Before we could continue our mini conversation, we could see we got company and to our dismay the two dragon slayers that stopped Virgo and I earlier were walking towards our direction. I was too stunned because they were able to catch up with us damn fast and then I remembered what Natsu shared with me before. Their abilities of a normal human are times 2 and they even have good sense of smell. It was pretty damn obvious that they sniffed us out like how Natsu sniffed me out that day in the woods. What's even more appalling is that they don't even looked like they were just in a battle.

"What happened to Capricorn?!" I yelled at them.

"My, my princess. Was that your personal bodyguard? He wasn't able to withstand us even for 10 minutes but I got to hand it over to him, he did put up a pretty good fight." The blond guy stopped walking and stood like 1 meter away from us with the dark hair man standing beside him as he replied me. "Though he wasn't that good enough to take down two dragon slayers, that is." He smiled sinisterly as he put his hands in his pockets.

"You." I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists to my side. "What do you want from me?"

"You?" The blond guy chuckled before continuing. "I don't want you. I just want the king actually but it seems that he's hiding and I'm very well aware that he has one precious daughter."

"So you're going take me as bait to lure him out?!" I answered back quite defensively.

"Exactly." He replied back before some magic surrounded his hand as he held it out. He was about to lunge a punch at me so I closed my eyes tight to embrace for the hit but only not to receive it. I open my eyes slowly to see Mystogan standing in front of me.

"Go Virgo, protect the Princess at all costs." Mystogan said as he stood in front of me and blocked the blond guy's attack with one of his staff.

"Mystogan?" I couldn't help but to call out for him as I was actually touched by his heroic action. Mystogan didn't answer me instead he pushed the blond guy back and moved to his battle position with his staff in his hands. Virgo grabbed my arm again and started to pull me away to run for another direction since the underground chamber that I was supposed to hide in wasn't a good hiding spot anymore.

I decided to put my trust in him since I know he was actually a good fighter and ran along with Virgo instead. Little did I know, both of them weren't going to fight him actually.

"I'm not that easy as Capricorn." Mystogan declared as he stood in front of the two dragon slayers.

"I know and that is why I'm going get Rogue to fight you with full force." Sting said before he made a dash right past Mystogan. "Thanks Rogue! I'm going after the girl instead!"

"No!" Mystogan yelled as he turned to make an attack at Sting but failed to because Rogue blasted a roar at him which made him dodged and roll on the ground so the attack didn't reach Sting at all.

"Damn!"
