Hey guys! Long time no see. I've been super busy this school year, and apologize for the late update! For a while I was wondering if it was even worth updating this story, but after I took a break from writing for a couple of months and re-read it to refresh my memory, I realized it was actually pretty decent. I've come up with a better plot line and have been waiting for the right time to start this up again.

The conversation will not be deep at dinner. It's a very awkward scene to write (in my opinion) so I will not be writing as much in quotations. Let me know if you like this better than usual.

Btw, the bar divisions will sometimes indicate a change in point of view. Just letting you know.

Hope y'all enjoy.

I gaze up into his gorgeous green eyes. I can feel my heart pounding. Pump. Pump. Pump.

For a minute I forget what we're even supposed to be doing at the moment.

"Bella, are you ever going to invite me in?" he jokes after a minute or so of me gazing off into the distance.

"Oh Jeeze...Right. I'm sorry," I cackle as I allow him to step inside. I'm such an idiot sometimes…

I stare at her, dumbfounded. She is even more beautiful than I ever realized.

She seems to go into a daze, because after a minute or two of me smirking, I bring her out of her daydream or whatever she was in. "Are you ever going to invite me in?"

She mumbles and apologizes in a quiet manner, and I think it's kind of cute. I bite my lip a little bit as I stare at her.

She creaks open the door and we step inside.

Spencer is waiting in the dining room, having been spying at us while we were in the doorway. He pretends not to have seen us though, and is setting the table to try to avoid our suspicions.

Spencer greets Nate with a warm handshake and a smile, and although Nate looks confident, I can see a glimmer of sweat on his upper lip. My heart speeds up a bit, and my eyes crinkle.

I can smell dinner. For once I actually kind of want to eat, it smells delicious. From what I can pick up on, Spencer is making some type of alfredo-pasta dish. Nate comments on the smell, and Spencer looks appreciative of his politeness.

We are about to sit down at the table, but before I can be escorted to my seat by Nate, I trip over my slightly-heeled shoes, and before I face plant on the wood floor, Nate catches me.

I blush. I honestly feel like a tomato, or some type of flushed fruit. "Ha-ha, thanks," I utter.

"It's no problem," he says, his voice dripping with sweetness like honey. My heart melts a little bit more with his comment and his arms around my waist. It wouldn't be the worst thing if time would freeze right now…

As I awkwardly am helped stand by Nate, we sit at the dinner table and dig into our meals, which we serve ourselves from the dishes on the table.

After a meal of not-quite forced conversation, which turns more relaxing and amiable towards the end, Nate and I ask to be dismissed from the table, and Spencer obliges, allowing us to grab our shoes and walk outside the apartment.

Our feet make slapping sounds on the stairs as we climb down to the first floor of my apartment complex, the nervous energy floating between us like chemical bonds. As we take the last few steps, our hands accidentally make contact, and my brain takes a second to decide what to do.

Come on Bella, grow up, grab his hand. His body language all night should tell you that he fancies you.

Just as I am taking a leap of faith, he takes his right before mine, his hand brushing up against mine and finally cradling my small, petite fingers. His hands are velvety and warm. At this moment, I think he could be a hand model. My body feels like lightning, and my senses tingle.

He smiles at me, and I can't help but grin back.

"I really like you Bella," he responds to the unasked question racing through my mind.

"I'm really glad we got to do this tonight."

"Me too," I respond shortly, afraid to say the wrong thing.

All of the sudden, music flows into our ears. It's Human by Christina Perri.

"Will you dance with me?" He offers his hand out, and without a further thought, I took it.

Our hands fidget a moment before resting on each other comfortably.

We get lost in the words and beauty of the song, and when the chorus comes on, he spins me and lets me go, and then not too forcibly grabs me, and allows me to fall back in his arms.

He's smiling widely and giggling a bit, and I join in. "I've been wanting to do that for a while, but I've been kind of nervous to dance. My mom made me a take a classical dance class once, and it went pretty badly."

I hesitate a millisecond before responding, "I'm already quite awkward, so even though I like dancing, I often end up on my face." My lips curve upright a bit before resting in nervous contentment.

"I don't think you're awkward."

I stare at him for a moment, thinking he's joking at first, and my heart sinks before I realize he's serious.

"I'm not kidding."

I smile up at him, giggling a bit. "Thanks." A blush rises to my cheeks.

All of the sudden his palm caresses my face near my jaw, and he leans in. I meet him halfway, and our lips meet in a soft, sensual kiss.

At that moment a feel so vulnerable, but protected, in his presence. It's just about perfect.

After a minute, we break apart, slightly flushed, and avoid eye contact for a second. He puts his arm on my shoulder and stares into my eyes for a minute before saying," I think it's time I get home, it's pretty late."

My heart sinks. "Oh, right. Sure." I offer a smile up to him. "I had a great time."

"Hopefully I'll see you at school on Monday."

He looks at me, almost like he's leaving something unsaid. "Yeah, I'll see you on Monday. Or whenever." He turns around and starts to walk on the path home, but as I'm turning around, I feel a strong hand make contact with my shoulder. At first I'm about to freak out, but once I see it's him, I calm down a bit.

"Wait, um.. I don't really know how to say… Or ask this..But.. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Nate gazes longingly at me, his green eyes dewy looking, his hair swept across his face perfectly. His lips are a bit pink from moments ago, and his smile lights up the quickly darkening sky.

"Yes. I would love that," I respond charismatically, and quickly my excitement bubbles over, and I almost leap into his arms with a hug.

He laughs and twirls me around before setting me down on the gravel once again. "Okay, well I guess this is goodbye for a little bit. Text or call me." He kisses my cheek, and runs off into the distance.

My heart leaps, and a giant grin spreads across my face. Once he's gone, I skip back up to my apartment, and when I'm entering the door, I might just seem a little too happy.

"What are you so happy about?" Spencer smirks while gazing at me from the kitchen, cleaning the dishes.

"Need some help with those?" I ask. He nods and I walk in the kitchen and start drying our dishes.

After a couple minutes of peaceful scrubbing, Spencer repeats himself. "So... what are you so happy about?"

I can't hide my happiness for long, and my lips spread into a wide smile. "Nate…asked me to be his girlfriend," my voice declines as I finish my thought.

"He what?..." Spencer voices, pretending not to hear what I just said.

"We're dating now."

Spencer is quiet for a moment. "Just make sure to be careful. I don't want you getting hurt."

"Don't worry, I won't."

"I hope not, Nate seems like a nice kid." He's quiet for a second before adding, "There will be a curfew and other rules you need to follow if this…thing...is going to happen."

"I get it," I assure him, content with my decision.

Once I finish dishes, shower, and climb into bed, I stare up at my ceiling, pondering how lucky I am to have a boyfriend like Nate. I text Mary-Kate the news before falling asleep, making sure to give her the glossy details. As I'm falling asleep, for the first time in a while, I feel peaceful. I can feel mom watching over me, and although thinking about her hurts, it doesn't hurt as much as it did yesterday. I'm satisfied with my day, knowing that she would be excited for me. I can't wait to see him again.

Well, that's it for today. I hope y'all liked it. Message me if you have any comments or concerns. Have a great day/night.
