A/N: Updated! Karai! Yay! and How about that trailer?!

~New York~

The teenager sat at a table the corner of the restaurant, waiting. She pulled out her cell phone to check the time. He was late. Tugging at her Sleeping with Sirens t-shirt, she flattened out wrinkles.

"Can I take your drink order, ma'am?"

"Strawberry lemonade, extra ice," she replied dryly.

"And a water, thanks," Leonardo Hamato smiled as he swung into his seat.

"You're late…" his company member said from behind her menu. "Sorry about that, had an… issue to take care of back home." You could hear the grin in his voice. His opposite dropped her menu and gave him a small smirk.

"Good to see you, Karai. It's been a while," Leo and Karai exchanged eye contact, both intrigued with the person sitting across from them. "How's life been for you?" The Hamato son prodded.

"It's been bleak. Father is acquiring a new tutor..."

"What happened to the last?"

"My," she raised her fingers for air quotes, "rowdiness," end air quotes, "disturbed him.

"You're horrible," he shook his head, smirking. "And you're gorgeous," she said without missing a beat. "I could get used to that," he faintly laughed and raised the water glass he had just been given. "Cheers," Karai simpered and joined his glass with her own.

"Cheers."

"So if my dad disappeared on this day, he's been missing for about…" April tucked her arm under her chin and looked away to avoid being accused of getting teary eyed. "Long enough," Donnie said like the good boyfriend he was, pulling his arms around the red head's waist. "We'll find him, we're going out to look for him as soon as Leo gets back."

"Where's Leo?" April raised her head in his direction. "A daaaateee!," Michelangelo sang, batting his eyelashes.

April cocked her head to the side, "With that punk-ish Japanese girl? The really cute one?"

"Yeah, Karai, It's their fifth date." April's boyfriend hugged her before venturing off to the kitchen.

"Gettin' pretty serious if you ask me," Mikey shrugged.

"Please. The only 'serious' relationship you've had is with that piece of pizza you stuck in your room for six weeks to see how long it'd last." Donatello popped his head around the wall. Michelangelo opened his mouth to reply, but only muttered a quiet "Touché…"

April let out a giggle and flopped over the back of the couch, "the love of my life and his crazy family."

"Shell right. And that's crazy messed up family if we're being honest here." Donatello sat gracefully sat down next to his girlfriend with a bowl of Ruffles. " Love of my life and junk food of my dreams," April began consuming the glorious chips with great care.

"Hey," the teenage genius took the wrists of the girl sitting next to him in his own hands. "Your dad is fine. We'll find him and everything will be perfect and like it should be." April pressed her lips to her boyfriend's cheek. "Thank you Donnie… It means everything to me," the couple lost themselves in each other's eyes for a few moments; exchanging messages through eye contact only meant for one another.

"How about a Disney movie?" Donnie suggested.

"As long as the mom isn't dead, I'm down," April repositioned herself so she was now stretched across the couch, her head resting on her romantic interest's chest. "So… Wall-E?" Donatello wisecracked. April reached over and threw a chip at him, "You think you're smart?"

Donnie picked up the Ruffle from where it had landed next to him a took a bite, "Actually, with my IQ… I don't think I am," he popped the rest into his mouth, "I know I am."

"Oooookay," April dropped her voice a couple octaves as her boyfriend curled more around her.

"So what movie are we watching?" Michelangelo the third wheel he was, claimed the love seat.

"Why can't you and Raphael do something together," Donatello groaned.

"Because Raphael has been anti-everything since April's-"

"Since when?" April rose her head from Donatello's chest.

"Since April's… Fool's day. April Fools Day. Yep. You know how much Raphael hates April first, worst day of the year, darn hooligans and their pranks!" Mikey quickly tried backing away from the scene.

The blond's brother rolled his eyes, "Mikey, April Fool's Day was ages… ago…"

"And sadly, April never knew Raph when he actually enjoyed life. Sorry, Ape. You missed out on some good times!" Michelangelo called from the hallway as he ran to his room.

"What was that about" April murmured tiredly.

"April, how would you describe our relationship?"

"Normal…?"

"Alright."

"I'm sorry, was that the wrong answer?" She sat up.

"No, no. It's fine, you're fine. Whatever."

"You're doing it again."

"Doing what," Donatello asked dryly.

"Lying," April stood up and went to the stack of DVDs under the television.

"I'm- I'm sorry. I didn't mean to," Donatello stood up and took his glasses off, rubbing his eyes. "I don't know what's gotten into me lately. I've just been… upset. Upset all the time."

"You know what I have to say to that?"

"What,"

"The Emperor's New Groove."

~New York City~

"I'm not tipping him," Karai stirred her drink with her straw. "And why not?" Leonardo gave her a sarcastic look. Karai rolled her eyes, "Do you see extra ice?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Diva,"

"Daddy's boy,"

"Punk,"

"Wise guy,"

"Rebel-hipster hybrid"

"Treat all girls like this or am I special?"

"Depends on how much you tip the guy."

Karai smirked and nodded, "Leonardo Hamato as noble as ever. So, you said you wanted to know all about me." She took another bite of her lettuce wrap.

"The hair. Who, what, when, where, and why?" Leonardo raised an eyebrow, "Not that it doesn't look fantastic, it's gorgeous. Very… Ginnifer Goodwin."

The rebellious teen laughed naturally, "I thought this was a date not a crime investigation."

The eldest Hamato shrugged, "Same thing."

Karai ran a hand through her black, purposely-not-fully-brushed-through pixie cut. "I ran around with hair to my waist 'till about sixth grade. Not my finest look. Once I started training more harshly in ninjustu, I cut it off. It became a nuisance. That's when, who, why, and what. Where? My room AKA 'The Cave'."

"Karai, you truly are-"

"Everything you're looking for? I know, I know."

Leonardo sincerely smiled at the young woman across from him. "Have I introduced you to my family yet?" Karai raised her drink and shook her head before taking a drink. "Good."

"I gotta meet these horrendous Hamatos at some point," she winked. Her date gave a stale laugh, "Trust me on this one. Now, dessert?"

"Split an Apricot-and-Blueberry Tart with me and we'll forget all about your family."

He honestly couldn't stop smiling, how gorgeous of a person she was. Though he and the teenage rebel had only met accidentally in a movie theater, they had labeled it as serendipity. "And how did I live before meeting you?" He raised his hand to call the waiter.

"You didn't."

~Raphael's Room~

Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce.

Raphael threw a tennis ball at the wall, sitting in a trance as it hit the wall, the floor, and then flew back into his grasp. He had a habit of doing this during moments of tension. His room was painted a dark shade of gray, not allowing lots of light to bounce around. Classic Japanese film posters and his weapons from the years hung over the emotionless color choice.

"Hey, Raph? We're about to go out for pizza. Leo's taking longer than expected." Donatello peaked through his brother's door. "You wanna come?"

Raphael debated the pros and cons of the offer while running a hand through his hair. Deciding on what he really needed to do, he mumbled a low "Sure, I'll be out in a minute." He wasn't in the mood for pizza, but there had to be something exciting going on above him. Raph groaned as he stood up and shuffled through his drawer looking for a shirt and some pants. He grew satisfied with a button up white collared t-shirt and a brown leather jacket. The lower half of him looked the same as always, black jeans, red vans.

Grabbing a small Nike duffel bag, he stuffed his training uniform in it along with his mask and Sais. A Training session just wouldn't cut it today.

The group was composed of the Hamato brothers (minus Leonardo) and April. Mikey and April were laughing the whole walk there about some previous joke they had made. Raphael didn't really get it when they tried to explain it. Donnie had shot him a sarcastic "Hey, whatcha gonna do?" look and it had made the angst-y teen smirk. Donatello smiled back, proud of himself.

"How are you, Raph?" Donatello spoke in a quieter tone, obviously meaning for only Raph to hear. April and Mikey were discussing something popular in the modern world, not paying attention to their companions.

Raphael turned his head to look his brother in the eyes, "I've been better."

"You've kept your distance from everybody, we've noticed. Raph, if it's anything we've done, I'm sorry. You should just know that we care about you…" Silence. "We're doing movie night tomorrow and you haven't come to one in a while… please?" Donnie pulled a puppy dog pout Mikey style. A sigh could be heard from the taller Hamato.

"Can I pick the movie?"

"As long as it's not Pulp Fiction."

Raph and Donnie laughed together.

"And what's so funny with you two?" April nudged her boyfriend. Donnie slightly nudged her back, "Raph is in for tomorrow night." April's face light up and she raised her hands to highfive herself. "Good to hear."

Because honestly, everyone had been wary about Raphael lately. April, of course, knew she was happy with Donatello. They fought yes, but always made up. Yet, there was a possibility the one most concerned about recent Raphael's isolation towards the world wasn't one of his brothers. It was April. Though she hadn't really thought about the "date" Raph and her had shared on her birthday, she couldn't deny it had happened. He had treated her the way any girl wants to be treated. Full out Gatsby. Minus the whole obsession thing. Maybe.

"I'm hungry, can you dudes please hurry up or something?" Michelangelo impatiently groaned. "We're almost there, Mikey. Shush," Donnie leaned over to tap the back of his head. "Oww!" Mikey shot him a glare.

"That did not hurt, Michelangelo Hamato." The smartest brother rolled his eyes.

Silence fell over the group for a few moments and Raph found exactly what he was looking for. Three police cars zooming past, sirens full on.

"Holy shell," Raphael stopped walking and cracked his knuckles.

"What's wrong, Raph?" April inquired, stopping entirely too. Raphael shook his head, "Totally forgot… me and Splinter have trainin' today. Gotta jet," he yelled as he ran away from the group and towards the alley where he had stashed his duffel bag.

"The liar," Donatello shook his head, possibly in amusement, possibly in disappointment. Possibly in both.
