The room erupted into exclamations of surprise, as people registered what they had just heard. For years there had been suspicions that there was something more than friendship between JJ and Reid, it was finally being confirmed. The first question that everyone wanted to know the answer to was obvious;
"How long has this been going on for?" the question came from Hotch.
"Seeing as its now eight thirty four, it would be safe to say six hours and seventeen minutes." Reid replied, reaching out to hold JJ's hand.
"So, you took my advice then Pretty Boy?" Morgan said smirking, his grin didn't last long however, before Garcia interrupted.
"Actually I think it was my meddling that got them together." She said with a flirtatious grin at Morgan.
So the battle ensued, who's meddling had gotten the teams second most obvious couple together, as the arguments spanned Emily slipped Hotch a fifty dollar note, he being the person who had said May would be the month that JJ and Reid would get together. After a few minutes the adults settled down enough to have a rational discussion, they all seated themselves on the beds that were placed in the back room. JJ and Reid still holding hands, Hotch and Emily sitting closer together than was probably needed.
"So, I'm guessing this is something pretty serious then?" the inquiry came from Rossi.
"Yeah, it's still really new to us but I think it's serious, and I know that it could mean one of us getting removed from the team, but that's something I'm willing to risk." Reid's reply came almost instantly, knowing that everything he said was true, and that JJ felt the same.
"Well, I don't actually see it being much of an issue with Strauss, I have some very interesting information on her that may help you guys out a little." Hotch said with a grin, sharing a look with Dave. In a room full of profilers the look didn't go unnoticed, but before anyone could say anything about it, two little boys walked into the room, one rubbing his eyes.
"The movie finished." Jack said walking over and climbing onto the bed between Hotch and Emily.
"Well then I guess it's time for bed." JJ said picking up her son.
"But Mummy, I'm not sleepy yet, I don't wanna go to be-"the end of his sentence was cut off by a huge yawn, causing the adults to chuckle a little.
"If you go to bed now then I think I might be able to make some Chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast in the morning." JJ said appealing to her son's sweet tooth.
"Mmh, okay, with ice-cream?" he replied, already headed to the land of nod.
"Maybe, buddy." Jj replied she excused herself and went to put Henry to bed.
"You had better get to bed to Jack, It's getting late." Hotch said to his son, as he looked down he realised with some surprise that Jack was already asleep, curled into a ball with his head resting on Emily's leg. Rossi stood and scooped the boy up, and walked out to put him to bed. He went up the stairs and into henrys room where the fold away had been assembled for Jack for the night. As he placed the sleeping boy in the bed and pulled the covers over him he sensed that JJ was standing in the doorway of the room. He turned, and went to her, puling the door to as he did.
"So, you and the kid?" he said softly.
"Yeah. Me and Reid," she replied a grin hidden under her motherly expression.
"Well, now that we finally have you sorted, how long do you think before Prentiss and Hotch realise that they have feelings for each other?"
"Oh, you know them, they're hopeless." She replied walking down the stairs, Rossi close behind, headed towards the second family, a part of her heart just as Henry is.
A/N: *peeks out from around rock* Hi, you might remember me from such times as eight months ago when I said I would update regularly. I have (as per usual) no good excuse as to why I haven't updated in so damn long. I mean really, it's not that hard, I like doing it and for some reason it seems to make you guys happy. But, I'm not in school anymore, and I have a computer of my own, so hopefully I will stop being lazy long enough to finish this story. As always, I encourage you to drop a review, or message me with any comments, good or bad. So, until next time, Cooey out. =]
