The back room of Jennifer Jereau's house was full of some of the best profilers in America. These people were responsible for putting some of the worst kinds of people behind bars, they helped people sleep better at night, and they made the world a better place. But for tonight, in their team bonding sleepover, they weren't acting very professional. The still empty centre of the room now sported a twister mat. David Rossi, who was on his way back from a trip to the bathroom, stopped dead in the doorway as he caught sight of the game.
"In spinning the spinner." He said, surprising the rooms other inhabitants, who had no idea he was there.
"Sorry, I already called it." Hotch replied looking up from the book he was reading.
"But, I can't play, I don't know the rules." Was the reply from the senior profiler who was beginning to look a little stressed?
"You knew about the spinner." Garcia interjected.
"That's all I know." He replied turning on her. Before things could get out of hand, Morgan stepped in with a suggestion.
"Okay Hotch, Rossi, come here. You're going to play rock, paper, and scissors for this." The two men came over and stood facing each other.
"Okay, I'll call it. Ready? Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" Morgan said.
Hotch threw rock, while Rossi threw paper. The older man looked up with a grin. "Well, I guess I get the spinner." He said almost gleeful. As the spinner was handed to him by Emily he thought up a wicked plan. Why not try and use this to set up the most obvious couple on the team?
Okay, everyone ready? Good. First up, Reid. Left foot Blue. JJ, you can put your right hand on a yellow spot please. Morgan, right hand green. Garcia, oh, that's odd, same again. Do I have to re spin?"
"No, it can land on the same if it wants to."
"Alrighty then. Hotch, right foot green please. Prentiss, if you could make contact between your right foot and a red spot that would be great." Rossi said, calculating how he could use the spinner and the spots available to his advantage. The game went on for almost fifteen minutes with JJ being first out, she stumbled trying to weave a leg through the tangle to the other side of the mat. As she fell she accidentally knocked Morgan's arm, causing him to be second out. Third and fourth out were Garcia and Reid respectively. This left Hotch and Emily in a battle of tangled arms and legs, locked wills, both members having a competitive edge to them. In the end it was a pesky blue spot that caused the game to end. Emily, trying to reach under Hotch's left leg accidentally fell over. As she went down Hotch finally allowed his muscles to collapse, lowering him to the floor. The end of the game resulted in laughter once more.
As the game was packed away conversation turned to the new couple yet again.
"I have to ask, who was actually surprised about Reid and I? With what we all do for a living I would be shocked if this caught any of you by surprise." JJ said, leaning against Spencer affectionately.
There was a chorus of "I already knew" and "we've known for ages" from the rest of the team causing JJ to chuckle. The team stayed awake for another hour or so, talking, joking and goofing around before they began to feel drowsy. Soon after they were all Pyjama clad and headed for their respective beds. After a round of 'goodnight' bouncing around the room, someone hit the lights, plunging them into darkness until the next morning.
