Child of Darkness – Loki
I kept hidden amongst the shadows as I watched the mortals continue with their daily life, without a care in the world. I envied them sometimes, none of them were shunned the way I was; no one understood me. Not even the 'loving' parents that brought me into this world, no, they favoured my sisters just because they were of the light. I was of the darkness and night; therefore they found it fitting to lock me up in a dark and dingy imprisonment for the rest of my life.
No, I'd had enough of being cast away into the corner to be forgotten about, I escaped and made my way here; to the world where mortals were of great population. I was still alone, but I knew of only one God who was similar to me: Loki Laufeyson, God of Mischief and Chaos. I believe that he is the only one that would understand me, who would know what traumas I had been put through during my childhood.
My ears pricked as I heard a shuffle come from behind me, making me spin around with my sword in hand, ready to slice anyone who dared try and sneak up on me; only to find a familiar face of Nick Fury who had contacted me numerous times since I had descended onto Earth.
"Nightingale-"
"You wish me to join what you call the Avengers." I stated, cutting him off after saying my code name SHIELD had apparently given me. "I know this; you have tried many times before to get me to join you."
"And have you thought about it anymore like you said you would from our last run in?"
"It's a possibility." I replied, smirking at the annoyed look that flashed across his face. "I have decided that I will, only because I wish to be at least heard of. My sisters are too conceited for their titles." I stuck my nose up in the air slightly as an accomplished expression took over his face.
"If you would come with me then Miss Mortem."
"I don't see what else I have to lose." I muttered, trailing behind him after sheathing my sword.

As I was being led down a hall in what Fury called the 'Helicarrier' I caught a glimpse of a containment prison cell in of the many rooms in this ship. I backtracked without him realising it and slid into the room, sliding the door firmly shut behind me. A tall figure was inside the cell and I quietly inched my way closer before stopping a couple of feet away from the glass.
"You know, not many people can sneak up on me. You are one of the few." A deep silky voice cut through the silence, making me try and get a look at the male's face. He turned around and my eyes widened slightly as I found myself in the presence of Loki Laufeyson. "Ah, I heard them talking about you. They said your powers were much greater than that of your sisters. But everyone knows about them, don't they? You, however, are the only one who sparked my interest Luna Mortem."
"You know my name?" I questioned, mildly surprised as I took another step forward so I was inches away from the glass.
"Of course I know who you are; you are the only Goddess who I thought worthy of being on Olympia."
"How did Loki Laufeyson get imprisoned in this? Surely it was no accident, you are better than that no?" I asked, making him smile as he walked closer to the glass; towering over me as his piercing blue eyes inspected me.
"It seems you have heard of me also, fair maiden, tell me why your family would lock away such a rare beauty such as yourself. It seems a crime far more illegal than what I have ever done." His voice was smooth as he placed his hands on the glass, leaning forward slightly.
"They think of me as an abomination to the family as I am of darkness and the night. They favoured my sisters who were born of the light and thought to shun me to the darkest corners where they thought I belonged." I said quietly, glancing away from him to see the panel in which I could free him.
"My love, you have had the similar childhood to what I did. Tell me, would you be willing to leave here and come back with me to Asgard where I would forever treat you like a queen you deserve to be?" I looked back at him to see his eyes holding the rare honesty he possessed and found myself nodding, making a smile touch at his lips. "Then turn around."
I frowned a little, but did what he said; finding myself face to chest with the God himself as I realised it was his apparition in the cell. His arm curled around my waist and he pulled me closer to his lean muscular body, making me have to tilt my head back to see his face.
"You truly live up to your name Laufeyson."
"And you fair maiden, will live up to yours when we arrive back to make the upbringing of chaos and darkness overwhelm every single being on Asgard. Everyone shall know your name, and they shall respect you my love; or they will have my wrath to face."
"Nightingale!" Fury yelled, busting into the room. "All Avengers to the containment area, Loki has escaped."
"Well, what shall it be love? It's your choice." Loki said.
"I want to go with you." I answered, taking a hold of his green cloak as he smirked before teleporting back to his home world where I could escape all of the criticism from my so called family and be free to reign by his side for the rest of eternity.
