Fire in my chest – Steve Rogers
I crept up behind my best friend Thor with a small flame emitting from my fingertip, laughing silently as he didn't know I was there. I positioned the flame just underneath his shoulder length blonde hair and watched in amusement as it began to singe slightly before erupting into a fit of giggles when he jumped and patted the fire on his hair out.
"Emmy!" His voice was loud as he accused me of the crime and it seemed to vibrate across the room, making me glance at him again before fleeing the scene with him chasing after me. "Get back here you small Midgardian woman!"
I laughed and sent a fiery wave back over my shoulder as I disappeared around a corner, immediately smacking into someone as I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. The man's shirt caught aflame and I quickly patted it out before looking up at him.
"I'm so sorry!" I gasped, hoping he didn't realise where the fire had come from.
"May I ask why the fire came from your hand ma'am?" he questioned, making me cringe a little as I stepped away slightly.
"You may, but I probably won't answer that." I replied, making him chuckle. I flashed the stranger a grin before taking off running again as Thor finally came round the corner, leaving the good looking man back in my wake.

I noticed the man from earlier sitting in the kitchen area by himself and skipped over with a bag of gummy bears in my hand which I'd been munching on for the past ten minutes. I plonked myself down onto the table top in front of him which made his gorgeous blue eyes flick up to me.
"Gummy bear?" I offered, holding the bag out towards him with a grin. "They're not poisoned don't worry, I wouldn't have been scarfing them down if they were." I added cheekily, making him chuckle as he grabbed a few from the open bag. "I'm Emma by the way, but you can call me Emmy. And sorry for nearly burning your shirt earlier."
"Steve Rogers, it was an accident; there's no need to apologise Emma." He smiled. "But you could tell me why you singed my shirt with the open flame on your hand."
"Yeeah, about that." I rubbed the back of my neck nervously before twirling a curl of my brown hair around my finger. "Promise me you won't tell anyone? Only Thor knows and I kinda want to stop it at you." I said, holding my pinkie finger out in front of him. He glanced at it before hooking his little finger around mine, making me smile. "You know what that means right?"
"Uh, I assume it's a promise of some sort."
"A pinkie promise, it means you won't tell anyone the secret you're gonna find out." I explained, making his slightly confused expression clear off his face.
"I see. So, what is this secret you're going to tell me then?" he asked.
"I can heat objects up and I can also light myself on fire." I replied simply. "Don't ask me how, because I have no idea. I've been able to do it ever since I can remember."
"Could you…give me a demonstration?" I hopped off the table and dropped the bag of gummy bears onto his lap before stepping away and lighting my whole body on fire, making him jump in his seat slightly as he looked at me in fascination. That was a new one, when my family found out before they died they were disgusted that a freak like me had been born into their 'perfect' family.
"Ta da." I smiled, twirling a little before extinguishing the flames and sitting back down again. "What ya think?"
"That's pretty unique." He nodded with an impressed expression on his face. "How come you don't tell anyone else?"
"I don't like Fury, he gives me the creeps." I stated, making him laugh.
"Well, I have to say. You've definitely started a fire in my chest."
"Good or bad?" I asked, tilting my head to the side slightly as I looked at him.
"Definitely the good kind." He gave me a wink and I found myself blushing as I moved my gaze down to my knees, hearing him chuckle.
