Frost – Loki

I watched as a young couple in their older years shuffled along the pavement in the park hand in hand, making a smile appear on my face. It was heart-warming to see people stay together for so long and still be as in love just like the day they met. I used to be in love, still am, with the God of Chaos. I was to wed him, but then the secret came out that he was a frost giant and I fled the place where the wedding was to be held. That was three years ago now and I had gained full goddess powers instead of being a demigod like I was previously.

I wandered over a bridge as I saw a young couple, a red headed woman and brown haired man, feeling the love that was between them; but something was complicating it. Something held them back slightly, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Nevertheless they were right beside each other like they were fighting through it which made me smile.

However, my smile dropped as I looked towards the two Gods that were a few feet away from them. Thor Odinson, the brother of my ex fiancé stood there with Loki in Asgardian handcuffs. I tried to sneak back the other way before either one of them saw me, but something was making me stay in place; my love for Loki had never vanished and was determined to stay and tell him. I froze completely when his ice blue eyes caught a hold of my hazel ones and I couldn't quite decipher the expression on his face.

My eyes widened as he broke free from the cuffs and I turned on my heel, running away from him as he came after me, ignoring the yells from his brother and the other people that had, presumably, captured him. My hair spanned out behind me as the wind caught it while I was running, feeling Loki catching up to me. A cool hand grabbed hold of my arm and yanked me back, making me wince slightly at the force of it before I was spun around to face Loki himself; seeing a look of betrayal on his face.

"Why did you run away?"

"A frost giant killed my brother when I was younger. I acted before I thought things through and I realised a year after that it didn't matter what species you came from, I know you would never hurt anyone I cared about because you're not like that." I replied quietly.

"You're wrong, I am like them. What happened here today is enough proof of that." I shook my head.

"My powers are stronger than they were when I was a demigod; I can feel that you're not really like them. You think you are as you want someone to be proud of you, but I always was."

I was suddenly shoved back as Loki was grabbed by one of the men that had him before, making me stumble slightly as I managed to regain my footing from the unexpected push. I was pushed back again by a man wearing an eye patch and this time I fell over as I tripped on the uneven edge of the paving stone, landing on my backside on the rough ground. Anger flared up in Loki's eyes and he broke free again, making his way through the small crowd of people to get to me.

"I won't let anything happen to you, my love. Whatever happens to me I will willingly take for you to stay safe." He said quietly as he gently pulled me back up onto my feet by my waist.

"Devine?" I looked round my lover to see Thor whose face instantly brightened when he saw it was me. "Leave this goddess alone, she has done nothing wrong." He walked over to his brother and I as we were being surrounded.

"She is an accomplice with Loki, she needs to be detained."

"I am the Goddess of love and beauty, what could I possibly do to harm any of you?" I remarked, using my power of controlling things to gently nudge the man's mind into thinking the opposite of what he was preaching.

After a minute he 'willingly' let me free and Loki looked down at me with an expression on his face, signifying that he knew what I'd just done. I shrugged lightly which made a hint of a smile grace his lips; the lips which I hadn't touched in three years.

"I'm sorry my love, I shouldn't have left you on that day and I've regretted it ever since." I said sadly, looking up at him through my dark eyelashes to see his expression soften ever so slightly.

"I will come back for you. I promise Devine." I felt him slip something onto my wedding finger before he was taken away. I looked down at my hand and my heart swelled as I saw the same ring gracing my finger that situated there three years ago.
