I think you got a bulls eye – Clint Barton

To say that I was upset when I found out Loki had literally brainwashed Clint would be an understatement, I was devastated. It seemed like an era ago when I first laid eye on him, he was amazing and I was immediately attracted towards him. He was one of the only men that I would allow myself to open up to apart from Tony, Steve and Thor. They were the few best friends I actually had.

I was wandering around the lower part of the Helicarrier trying to find the intruders that had blown up one of the ship's engines and made Doctor Banner Hulk out. I heard a small clank behind me and ducked down just in time to see an arrow fly over my head, making me realise it was Clint. My chest clenched painfully when I realised that Loki had made him into a killing machine to take all of us out. I ran to the side and hid behind one of the thicker pipes, watching as he slowly came into view; his eyes an unnatural shade of blue.

"I have died every day waiting for, darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more." I sang softly, making him stop and tilt his head to the side slightly. I noticed his eyes flicker back to their original shade of blue before flashing electric again. The real Clint was still in there, if I could just get him to overpower the thing Loki had done to him I could get him back.

I grunted as I hit the back of my head against the wall as his bow came towards my face, making me jerk back so I wasn't hit. I rolled under the pipe so I was back out in the open area with him and kicked the bow from his hands, leaving him with no weapons; exactly how I was.

"Clint." I said quietly, dodging a fist he sent in my direction. "I know you're in there, you have to fight him out your head." I blocked his attack and found myself right in front of him, our eyes connecting as he was breathing heavily. "I know you're still there because I love you." I whispered as my eyes became glassy.

"Desiray?"

"Yeah, it's me." I gave him a small smile, knowing he still wasn't fully himself yet. "I'm sorry." I brought him to his knees and smashed his head against the metal railing, successfully knocking him out.

I cradled his head on my lap as I slid onto the floor with him and brushed my fingers through his hair, calming myself down. A slightly static voice came through my earpiece and I pushed it against my ear so I could hear them properly, realising it was my father-figure Fury.

"Yeah, I think I got him back. He's unconscious at the moment though." I replied, watching Clint's face for any sight of him coming to. Fury left me alone after that and I was left to continue stroking his hair.

A little while had passed before I noticed Clint begin to wake up, making hope well up in me as I watched his eyes flutter open. I grinned as his normal coloured eyes opened and stared up at me, making me release the breath I had been holding.

"Ugh, what did you do to me?" he groaned, reaching up to his head only to catch my hand with his own as mine was still tangled in his hair.

"I had to knock you out to get him out of you." I replied, slipping my fingers between his. "I'm sorry." I apologised softly.

"No, it's fine. Thanks for getting him out." He smiled slightly as he stared up at me. I helped him back up onto his feet and nearly reeled back in shock as he pressed his lips to mine. "I heard you, when you said you love me. And I want you to know that I've loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you when you joined SHIELD."

I didn't know what to say, so I just stood on my tip toes and kissed him; feeling him smile against my lips before both of us jumped apart as a whistle sounded from the doorway of the lower level we were in.

"I think you got a bulls eye there Hawky." Tony winked, making me blush lightly. Clint smiled and completely ignored Stark as he hugged me close to his side, walking in the opposite direction to avoid prying eyes.
