Lullaby - Loki
It was my round to watch Loki in the specialised cell on the Helicarrier to make sure he didn't get out. I sat down with my back against the wall, facing the cell in which the God of Mischief was in a similar position to myself. I was humming quietly as I tightened the laces on my boots when I realised he was staring at me, making me look at him questioningly.
"What was that you were humming?" he asked, his expression curious.
"It's a lullaby. My mother used to sing it to me when I was small right before I went to bed." I replied. I wasn't like the other agents on watch duty, I actually talked to him instead of throwing insults and threats around; most of which would be fake if Loki actually got free.
"Your mother sang to you?" I nodded and sat with my legs stretched out as I looked at him. "I remember very little of my youth, I do not think I was ever sung to."
I glanced at the door before crawling my way forward until I reached the cell, leaning my side against the glass and motioning Loki to move closer to me.
"You are not afraid of me mortal?" he asked.
"If I'm getting this close to you, then I'm obviously not." I remarked. "I'd go in there if I was allowed, I don't think you'd do anything to me."
"And how do you know I'm not just waiting for the opportune moment to act?"
I smirked as I leant forward so my face was millimetres away from the glass and his face, making him arch a dark eyebrow as he watched me.
"Because you've been out of there for the past hour standing in the shadows behind the control panel just staring at me. You haven't moved at all." He vanished from the cell and I turned around on my butt to see him step out into the light, feeling accomplished with myself at the look of shock on his face.
"How did you realise?" he demanded, walking closer so he was a couple feet away from me.
"Firstly, demanding will get you nowhere. Second, you got out around half way through the previous guy's watch. And thirdly, you had this slight twitch which wasn't normal. You never had it when I was watching you before."
"You are a very observative woman." he commented, looking intrigued as he crouched down to my level. "And yet you are not afraid, even when I could kill you right this second."
"I've always been strange like that." I shrugged lightly.
"You are very intriguing fair maiden, you make me confused."
"How so? You are supposed to be Loki Laufeyson, God of Mischief and Chaos. You're not supposed to get confused." I smiled, teasing get him. I giggled at the look of frustration on his face, making his head snap to look at me.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Because I've confused you even more." I smiled. A scowl settled on his face as he continued looking at me.
"You are a beautiful, but frustrating little Midgardian."
"I'll take that as a compliment." I remarked, making a smile curl onto his lips.
"You should, not many have mastered the sight of knowing whether I am an illusion or real." I turned my head to the left and got to my feet as he walked over from the far wall.
"You're real." I stated, stopping a foot away from him.
"Are you sure?" he asked, smirking.
I closed the small amount of distance between us and pulled him to to my level by the back of his neck, kissing him passionately. His lips were cold, but soft as they covered mine.
"I'm sure." I breathed, breaking away slightly.
"Then you are correct my fair maiden." I felt his arms slip around me as he pulled my body closer to him. "And I am tempted to take you with me as the room will soon be flooded with enemies."
"I am an enemy."
"You will not be for much longer, you will be my lover back on Asgard." he stated.
"Jesus, all I did was hum a lullaby." I muttered just as agents filled the room before Loki's grasp tightened and we disappeared from the room.
