Ninja - Tony Stark/Iron Man

The door of my small apartment was busted in and I quickly jumped out of bed, not bothering to put on shoes or grab less revealing clothing. I quickly slashed the throat of a soldier who'd found me before he had a chance to make any sound and alert the others. I kept the switch blade in my hand as I climbed out the window and onto the rusted fire escape that was just about clinging onto the side of the building.

Just as I steadied my footing my bedroom was ransacked by a large group soldiers, making me swing on the railing as the window was smashed, sending little pieces of glass everywhere. One of them reached out and grabbed my thigh, making the stair I was on snap as I jerked away from him.

I felt myself fall for a split second before I caught myself by grasping the drain pipe with my fingertips. I cursed and ducked my head down when they started shooting at me. I shuffled along the thin ledge and back onto the black stairs, swaying a little as the thing moved beneath me.

"She's here!" I jumped as a yell sounded from my right and the fire escape finally gave out, making me drop nauseatingly downwards. I let out a grunt as a pair of metal clad arms caught me, causing me to look at the handsome face of my saviour.

"Tony Stark at your service ma'am." He flashed me a dazzling smile before I grabbed his shoulders and ducked my head as bullets shot past us only inches away. His mask slid shut down on his face again before he flew away from my apartment building with me in his arms.

"I could have handled it." I muttered, hearing him let out a laugh after.

"Sure, you were falling down the side of a building sweetheart." he chuckled.

"My name is Beth. And I'm a ninja, of course I would handle it." I deadpanned, making him look at me with his mask back up.

"You're serious? You're really a ninja?" His expression turned into one of confusion and it was my turn to laugh at him. I nodded and looked at him to see his dark eyes inspecting me in interest. "Really?"

"You can always look up my file on the SHIELD network, I think Fury managed to get a good number on me."

"You know about SHIELD?"

"Of course I know about SHIELD, nearly all of our enemies know about it. Why do you think I'm a wanted woman by Fury? He wants me to join." I explained, seeing his face change into an expression of realisation.

"You're the girl we were sent to look for."

"Most likely." I remarked.

"Damn, you're hotter than your picture." He smirked. I let out a laugh at his blunt remark.

"You're not too bad looking yourself Stark." His smirk grew. "But how about we leave that for later and just focus on getting away seeing as we have soldiers following us?"

He glanced down and saw them on the ground following us before looking back at me.

"Hold on darlin', it might get a little hard to breathe."

"Oh, I'm not worried. I'll just get you to give me CPR." I smirked, watching as his expression matched mine.

"I'm liking you already Beth, keep it up and you may find yourself not sleeping tonight." He commented, making me smile.

"I was hoping on that."
