Norse goddess – Bruce Banner

"Freyja!" I jumped at the sound of Thor's loud voice yelling through my workspace, making me look up to see the God of Thunder himself running towards me.

"Thor! What are you doing here?" I asked, accepting the hug he gave me before looking up at him.

"Loki is threatening Midgard with the Tesseract." He said solemnly. My expression saddened, believe it or not Loki was nice when he was younger. I used to play with him and Thor all the time when we were little back on Asgard.

"What are we doing about it?" I asked. "As much as other most likely want it, you can't kill your own brother and I can't kill my friend." I said softly, looking at the slightly older God in front of me.

"I do not know, but you are right. I'm not capable of killing Loki, he is still my brother no matter what he says otherwise; we grew up together." Thor stated, crossing his arms. "Will you come back to us for this fight?"

I chewed on my bottom lip for a minute as I thought about it. The plus side would be I get to see more of Bruce if I do, I may have taken a small liking towards him. I sighed and stood up straighter, feeling my Asgardian armour take over my body instead of the Midgardian clothes I was wearing previously.

"We need an adequate battle strategy, both of us know how good Loki is at getting past obstacles." I said, seeing the large smile on Thor's face before walking past him and towards the bridge where Fury would be with Thor right behind me.

I strode into the big room and received many looks from the agents and other Avengers alike due to the change in my appearance. Fury looked over as the both of us stopped in front of him.

"I was wondering if Thor would get you to join, welcome aboard the Avengers Freyja." Fury said, making me notice a slight hint of a smile on his face which made me feel accomplished.

I was still in my armour when I walked past Bruce's lab, seeing him hunched over the worktop doing something. A slight frown etched onto my forehead and I quietly slipped into the lab before making my footsteps easily heard so I wouldn't startle him. He looked up from his work and a smile appeared on his face when he saw me, making my heart seem to flutter abnormally.

"Freyja, what can I do for you?" he asked, abandoning whatever was on the table and walking round to meet me.

"I was wondering what you were doing working this late. It's nearly eleven o' clock Bruce." I said softly. "You need sleep just as much as the rest of us, whatever you're doing can wait until the morning when you have rested."

"It's eleven?" he questioned, frowning a little. I nodded and pointed to the large set of windows, making him look back at the nearly pitch black sky.

"Bruce, don't make yourself stay up." I caught his hand when he went to turn back round, making him pause and look down at our hands before looking back up at my face again. "I will take you to bed myself if I have to." I said firmly.

"Okay, okay." He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You know, that comment could be taken in a different way." A blush rushed through my cheeks and he chuckled lightly.

"I did not mean in that way, but if you are willing then who am I to say no?" I gave him a cheeky grin as it was his turn for his cheeks to flush pink.

"I never knew you were a Norse Goddess." He said, changing the subject and making me giggle slightly.

"I used to live on Asgard, but preferred it here on Midgard so I moved here. Thor and Loki were who I grew up with and we were best friends, Thor and I still are; Loki I'm not so sure. He has changed since we were little." I frowned slightly before feeling Bruce's finger smoothing to creases on my forehead.

"Leave the frowning to me; you're too beautiful to be giving yourself wrinkles just yet."

"You are not old Bruce Banner, you may be a few years older than me; but you are still very handsome for your age." I smiled shyly at him through my dark eyelashes and saw his expression soften as he continued looking down at me.

He stepped closer and I had to tilt my head back a little further to keep looking at his face. His warm hand came up and rested on the side of my neck, leaning down so his face was closer to mine.

"What would you do if I were to kiss you right now?"

"I wouldn't mind." I smiled before my eyes fluttered shut as he kissed me gently.

His lips were warm and moulded against mine perfectly. Gods found loved ones rarely; we only have a few which we truly love. Bruce was my first love that I knew was true, and I wasn't going to let anything try and break us apart. Or so help them they will feel the wrath of a true Norse Goddess.
