Betrothed to chaos – Loki

I found myself staring down at the engagement ring on my finger, thinking back to when Loki proposed to me. I'd learned to love him as we grew up together; we had been betrothed since I was born. When I was younger I hated the idea and I wanted as much freedom as I could get. Loki was four years older than I was, making him more acceptable of the situation due to the fact he was more mature then me back then.

I saw lady Sif walking towards me and sat down on the edge of the fountain, waiting for her to join me. She sat beside me and adjusted the skirt of her dress a little before looking over and smiling at me.

"Don't think I did not see that look on your face."

"Excuse me?" I asked, giving her a questioning look.

"Every time you look at the ring, your expression turns into one of the utmost adoration." She said softly, glancing down at my hands which were folded in my lap. "It's heart-warming to see that he being so cold descendant wise has found love with the nature." She smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear that had come free from my braid.

I felt myself blush lightly and looked away to make the smallest rose bush grow larger into a full bloom. Lady Sif looked behind me and smiled before excusing herself to go back to Odin, making me nod and bid her farewell before going back to tending the roses.

"You always were fascinated with nature, ever since we were younger." A smooth deep voice said from behind me, causing a smile to slip onto my face, and I looked back to see my fiancé.

"I am the Goddess of Nature, I think I know how much I love the thing." I laughed lightly as he stepped forward and took a seat beside me. I accepted the soft kiss he gave me before I felt his cooler hand slip into my own, twisting the ring on my finger a little.

"Tomorrow my love." Loki smiled softly. "Tomorrow and I will be able to call you mine forever."

"I am yours anyway, you know that. No man or God will be able to steal me away because my heart lies with you." I whispered, watching as the emerald in the ring caught the setting sunlight and glimmered brightly; making me squint a little as it caught me in the eye. "You did that on purpose." I accused, making him chuckle and press a kiss to my temple.

"Why would you think such a thing of me Amelia?"

"Because if you have not forgotten, I grew up with you and I have learned all of your tricks from being the receptor of them." I poked his nose, making him twitch a little before standing and turning back to look down at him. "Are you going to walk with me? Or do I have to go on my own?"

Loki stood and was by my side before I had a chance to blink and laced my arm through his, making me smile. He may seem a little ruffled around the edges, but with me he was the perfect gentleman and very kind and sweet.

I gently hit his arm when I realised he was the one to make Thor nearly fall over a few metres back by setting up a trap of my fence vines, making him look down at me with a smile; knowing he'd been caught by me.

"You really do know most of my tricks."

"I am betrothed to chaos after all." I smiled. "You get used to the little clues you leave behind when you have done it for years."

"I can think of a few tricks you haven't spotted yet."

"Give it a few more years and I will." I smiled as he kissed me softly while the Asgardian sun was setting below the horizon.
