Normality – Tony Stark
I ducked down into an empty alley and crouched behind a large trash can, using it as a hiding place to get the men off my trail. I looked up and saw a man in a metal suit flying through the air, making my body curl up into a small ball. I just wished everything would go back to how it was, normal. I didn't want to be someone that everyone calls weird and keeps their distance. I quietened my breathing and calmed myself before I did anything too rash. The bin I was behind moved to the side and the purple balls sparked from my hands again as I screamed.
"Whoa! Hey, hey I won't hurt you!" The man's mask slid up, exposing his face after he'd managed to doge the energy balls that had come from my hands.
"Go away, I don't want to go anywhere apart from home." I stated, making him crouch down in front of me.
"We're not here to hurt you, we came to help with the small problem of you shooting purple balls of energy from your hands." He explained.
"But I don't want to go." I said stubbornly, making him sigh.
"Look, I could just pick you up and fly you there. Your balls only energise my suit more cause they're almost pure electrical energy." I coughed slightly to cover the soft laugh that escaped me and noticed the grin that appeared on his face. "Oh look, she does have a sense of humour. Come on, you're just making this harder on yourself."
I sniffled slightly before using the wall to help me stand back up onto my feet before looking at the man as he stood as well, making me have to tilt my head a little back to see his face. He looked about a few inches taller than me, the top of my head came up to his chin.
"What will they do to me?" I asked, slightly fearful of the testing that would most likely be involved with me going with them.
"There's no testing as such, only a couple of blood samples to see if this is genetic or just a plain fluke that you happened to obtain." He replied. "I'm Tony Stark by the way, what's your name little lady?"
"Beckie Lea Mikaelson." I answered, delicately shaking the metal hand he held out.
"You're gonna have to hold on tight, there are other agents out here that don't work for SHIELD. They're the ones that will test on you." He said. Before I had a chance to ask what he meant by the holding on tightly part I was shooting up into the air with his arms wrapped securely around my waist, making me gasp and turn my head inwards towards his neck; not liking the free floating feeling or the fact that we were hundreds of feet above the ground. I noticed Tony zone his gaze in on my nose and covered it self-consciously, making him look at me with a smile. "Nose ring, nice. You a rocker then?"
"You don't have to be a rocker to have a nose piercing." I remarked, scowling slightly. "But I do like some of the bands in that genre." I muttered as an after-thought, making him chuckle.
"Personally, I like some AC/DC." He grinned before the music began blaring into my ears from his suit, making a small smile touch my lips. "Is that a smile I see? I think it is! Hallelujah, the girl smiles!"
I shoved him, momentarily forgetting that I was suspended hundreds of feet in the air, and feeling myself drop a little' making my heart nearly stop before Tony gripped me tighter.
"I got you darlin'. You aren't going anywhere." He winked, making a light blush appear on my cheeks which I blamed on the cold wind.
