After Andy left, Sam turned back to the table wondering where she went off to in such a hurry. Oliver noticed too.
"Is she on call tonight?" Oliver asked Traci.
"She's supposed to be, but Luke told Frank he would take the calls for the next two days."
Sam was confused by what they were saying. "On call for what?"
All eyes were now on Sam. Of course he wouldn't know.
"After you left she took the detective's exam, now she a detective."
Sam was shocked. She was now a detective- but he also felt proud.
"So where did she run off too?" That was the question.
Then the door swung opened and Nick walked through.
Andy got a very panicked phone call from Fiona saying she needed her ASAP.. So she rushed over to her.
Now, a while later she was trying to hold back a laugh and trying to cover the bruise that stared forming under her eye.
"Why were you still at the station anyways? You were supposed have left a few hours ago."
"I was finishing up a case and wasn't watching what I was doing and walked into the door when it opened."
Fiona looked into the mirror upset.
Tomorrow she was supposed to be getting married, and now she had a very swollen nose and bruises forming under her eyes.
"I can't get married looking like this." She said crying.
"Hey, hey." Andy said grabbing her face between her hands. "Yes you can. We'll load you up with concealer and foundation and you will look as good as new."
"But my nose is swollen."
"Hey you don't need to worry about what other people think. Nick won't care. He will love you no matter what."
"You're right." She said remembering the time she got attacked by bees and had an allergic reaction. Nick was there taking care of the rash that came afterwards.
That was when she knew that she was in love.
"Beside you have to take advantage of your uncle being in town."
"Uncle Sam's here?"
"Yep." She said popping the 'p' starting to fix her hair.
"Did you guys talk?"
"Nope." She said once again popping the 'p'.
"Andy." Fiona said turning to her. "Why not?"
"Last time I saw him he was kissing a blonde. His date. I'm just waiting for that to happen again."
"They broke up after that day and he has been single since then and I told him not to bring a date."
"Why did you tell him to not bring a date? That's his choice."
"I can't have my maid of honor leave before the party even starts and we both know that will happen."
"Where's the bride to be?" Traci asked as Nick came to sit down.
Nick let out a sign of defeat before he answered. "She was running into the locker room last I saw her and she wouldn't let me in. So I came here."
"I wonder if that's where Andy ran off too?" Steve questioned.
"I think so. I saw her car parked outside the station." Nick said taking a drink of his beer.
"Wait Andy has a car now?" Sam piped in. Out of all the years he has known Andy, she never had a car. She borrowed his brand new truck, Traci's car, Chris' and Nick's.
"Brother you've missed a lot since you've been gone." Oliver said slapping his back.
Everyone looked at him with apologetic eyes. "What happened?"
No one was going to answer and Xavier thought he should know. So he and Marlo made their way over.
"She was attacked one night, she was walking home." He said helping Marlo sit at the table as he also took a seat.
"What?" He asked not really wanting to believe what he was hearing.
"It was a tough shift so she decided she wanted to walk home to clear her head. She slipped out before anyone knew. Nick was the first on the scene. She was stabbed but she somehow got the knife from him and turned it on him."
Sam thought about when they were first dating. She had told him she didn't know how to get a sharp object away from someone. She he taught her that night.
"Was she.. umm."
"No," Traci jumped in. knowing what he thought. "She got the knife away before he could."
Sam felt relief wash over him but he was angry that she had been hurt.
"So, Oliver and I took her car shopping." Nick told him. No matter what happened between Andy and him he would always have her back.
"She spend two days in the hospital. Got a few stitches and you can barely tell she has a scar." Marlo told her. After everything happened she and Andy have become close. Not best friends but just friends.
Sam didn't know what to think. All the information was new to him he felt so overwhelmed.
Andy and Xavier weren't together.
She was now a detective.
Now she owns a car because she was attacked.
He needed to be alone to figure out how he was going to make all of this up to Andy.
Everyone is getting ready for the big day for Nick and Fiona. Andy was excited one of her best friends were getting their happy ending but she was also nervous about Sam.
But what she didn't know was that Sam was feeling the same.
The wedding was beautiful. The swelling had gone down on Fiona's face and Gail did the makeup to cover the bruises.
During the wedding Andy tried not to look at Sam but she could feel his eye's on her the whole time. She did her best to keep her distance at the reception. But that failed.
When she was dancing with Oliver, he traded her off to Sam and let him cut in. So now here she was dancing with the man she loves but he isn't hers anymore.
At first it was awkward. They both didn't know what to do. But Sam was the first to talk.
"You look stunning." He told her.
"Thanks," She giggled under the heated stare. "You look good too I haven't seen you in a tux since Frank's and Noelle's wedding."
Sam was fixing to say something but the song ended and she rushed off to the bar.
During the dance Andy didn't even feel as Sam loosened the clasp of her necklace and slipped it off her her neck. She didn't know either, until Gail pointed it out.
"Oh, no, no, no it must had fallen off."
She said as she went in search of it on the dance floor.
She wasn't looking where she was going and ran in a hard body. Sam.
Sooo... what do you think?
