*cough* *cough* I'm back!
How is everyone? I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and New Year! I am going to try to start writing more. Even thought this story is coming to an end. I have a few ideas for a new one.
Now you know me I leave chapters on a cliffhanger so I just warned you. lol. Sorry its short I promise I will update sooner.
As the weeks went by, Sam and Andy were making the 'new' them work. Sam was still in St. Catherine's closing the cases he could before he had to hand them off to the other detectives.
They called each other every day even if it was just for five minutes, to say 'I love you.' And 'I miss you.' On the days they had more than five minutes they talked for hours, sometimes even falling asleep on the phone with each other.
On weekends they had off they were with each other. But never taking the next step. Over all they were in bliss.
Andy and Xavier were out having lunch over working a case.
"So how are you and Swarek?" Xavier asked while stealing one of Andy's egg rolls.
She smacked his hand before answering. "We're going good. He's almost done with his cases." She said with a huge grin.
"So does that mean I'm going to lose you as a partner?" He asked sadly talking a sip of his drink. Him and Andy work great together as partners.
"I don't think so. With Frank knowing, and depending where mine and Sam's relationship goes, its not an option. Besides I love my partner now."
"I love my partner also."
Andy was about to say something sarcastic back but her phone started to ring. "Marlo?"
Xavier's head popped up when he heard his wife's name. He only heard Andy's half of the conversation.
"What?...Where are you now?... No. no I'll take care of it. I'll see you soon." She hung up and glared at Xavier then threw an egg roll at him.
"What the heck?" He said as he cleaned food off his face.
"You and Marlo had a fight?"
Xavier signed "No, we had a disagreement."
"About?"
"The nursery isn't ready."
"Are you serious Xavier!"
"Yes. But I was going to go home and do everything and maybe get the rookie's to help."
"Where's your cell phone?"
He checked his pockets. "I.. um"
"It's at home." She told him getting up to clean up their mess. "You need to go get you're things. Now."
"Why?" He asked getting up.
"Just do as you're told."
Xavier looked at Andy knowing that something was up, but he still did what she told him to.
As soon as Xavier was out the door she called Traci. "Hey can you pick up Bethany and I'll pick her up later?... Yeah thanks Love you too."
Xavier walked back into the room with his bag. Andy looked at him "Good lets go."
When they pulled into the hospital parking lot Xavier looked puzzled. "What?"
"Go Marlo's at 5cm she waiting on you." Andy said as she put the car in park.
Xavier was out of the car when he heard 'at 5cm' and he was pretty much running.
Andy laughed at her partner and picked up phone to called Sam.
"You have reached Detective Sam Swarek. Please leave your name, number and a brief message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible."
"Hey babe. I just want to let you know there is another Reed on the way. I guess that will mean we will be babysitting Bethany a little bit. That's where I'm heading now. Anyways, call me back. I miss you. Love you."
Two hours later Andrew Reed was welcomed into the world. Andy was in awe holding the little bundle in her arms. She had left to go pick up Bethany and drop her off and at Marlo's sister.
She watched the couple eat together as she started to daydream about her and Sam. Getting married one day and having kids of their own. She was brought back to the real world when Fiona and Nick entered the room in a panic. They congratulated Marlo and Xavier then turned to Andy.
"Where is your phone?" Fiona asked.
"Umm. I'm not sure." She said getting up and giving the baby to Xavier. She turned around and looked at Fiona. She had tears running down her face.
"What's going on?"
"Uncle Sam's been shot."
