You do have a Heart - Nick Fury
I found myself sitting on the edge of a building top with my legs dangling over the edge. I was vaguely aware that members of SHIELD were at the base of the building, shouting at me to step away from the edge; but I couldn't do it anymore. The power I possessed was too strong for me to handle and I didn't want to kill any more innocent people than I already had. My power was that I could bring about pain on someone without even touching them.
I scooted closer to the ledge and shut my eyes as a light breeze washed over me. My ears pricked slightly as a quiet sound came from behind me. I opened my eyes and stared ahead of me at the New York skyline.
"I hate it." I said softly, knowing who was there without having to turn around. "I have no control, I don't like being dangerous. I'm like a time bomb."
"Which is why if you come back we can teach you. We can help you Sophie, you just have to move away from the edge." Nick Fury's voice met my ears.
"I like it here, I have control over whether I fall or not. It's quite satisfying actually."
"Please come back Sophie." The tone of his voice shocked me; it had turned soft and quiet with a hint of vulnerability. "You're like daughter to me; I took you in when you were only ten. That has to mean something."
"If you can reach me, I'll come back again."
I let myself fall forward and felt the air rush up to come and greet me, hearing someone scream from below me on the ground. A hand latched around my ankle and I jerked to a stop, almost painfully. I twisted my body around and saw that Fury had a tight grip on me, stopping my quick descent abruptly.
"Looks like you'll be coming back to SHIELD after all Miss Jones."
"I guess you really do have a heart after all Nick." I smiled up at him.
