A/N: And the lord said, 'let there be more chapters, and yay there was more!' lol, but seriously, I'm gonna try and update more times than I have been. The problem is, I have the WORST wifi set up. I am hoping to get this fixed. Plus, with art school coming up, and graduation on it's way, writing is a limited part of my life right now, so... patience people.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the chapter, thank you all for being loyal followers, and reviews are greatly appreciated.

"I can't believe we agreed to this."
"C'mon Mels, it's not that bad."
"Not that bad? Getting blown up is 'not that bad'. This is painstakingly unbearable! I hate having to wait in the cold for those two task force members to be done before going in!"
"Just hush up and wait. It'll all be over soon."
"Yeah right."
I patted the blonde on the head. We'd been waiting out in the cold November air for what seemed like hours now. Well, I think it had been hours, but I wasn't about to let Mello know that. Sure, we'd been in my car at this point, but I couldn't have it running for fear of being caught. So, we had to sit in the cold and wait.
At this point, even I was getting too cold for comfort. I thought it wouldn't take this long beforehand, but it would seem I was wrong.
When the time to act did come, we were disappointed to see only one of the task force members leave. With this, we had to think of a new plan. And by 'new plan', I mean we couldn't get even remotely close to her anymore.
"Well, looks like my plan to befriend Amane and learn what we can from her just went down the drain."
"Not that it would've worked. I doubt a girl like her wants us for friends, Matt."
"Well, excuse me for thinking outside the box. What exactly do you have in mind then?"
Mello pinched his brow. "Near said to trail her, correct? So that's what we're gonna do."
He dug into his pocket and brought out some weird chip things. They looked somewhat brand new.
"I bought these a while back when I was still in the mafia. I hated not knowing what people were doing behind my back, so I planted a few. Ross was more than pissed to find out about Miller selling goods behind his back."
"So you kept a few?"
"And we're gonna plant them in her apartment. I just need you to distract them." He said as he got out of the car.
I paused for a bit until I realized what he'd said. "Wait, what!" I exclaimed, tripping my way out of the car. "What do you mean distract them?"
He turned on his heel as he stopped. "I mean, go to the door, ring the doorbell, and keep that girl occupied while I plant these things. When it's over, I'll give you the signal."
He started walking again, but I was more confused than before. "What signal!?"
"You'll know it when you hear it." And with that, he was gone. Disappeared into the darkness, and left me with the real challenge.
I felt a slight shiver run down my spine as I tried to think of a way to keep Amane distracted long enough for Mello to plant the devices. I usually just followed along with plans instead of adding on to them. I couldn't act on a whim to save my life. I either did what Mello did, or had another figure tell me what to do. However, it would seem for once I had to do things for myself.
Well, there was a first time for everything.
I took my time in getting to her apartment, thinking of a way to keep her and the task force guy distracted. I decided to lose the goggles since I may seem less creepy that way to her. Thankfully, the light didn't hurt me as much as I believed it would.
When I got to her door, I thought for another second before knocking.
I knew, right before he answered, that the task force member would be there before her.
This was a big guy too. I think he was about the same size as that despicable Ross guy that Mello hung around after he left Wammys. He didn't seem too pleased by my presence.
I swallowed a bit of fear, and spoke. "Uh… w-would this be the Amane residence?"
He glared at me. "And who might be asking?"
"Motchi!" Came the whiny voice that would make a dog run for cover. "Who's that!?"
I held back the eye twitch. "I'm actually here to meet Misa Amane herself. I have a few questions to ask of her."
"About what?" The man asked.
Before I could reply, the scantily clad woman herself came to the door. "Ooh, are you a fan?!" She asked excitedly. "I mean, why else would you be here?"
'A fan? Maybe… no, too creepy. Why would a fan be here, at her doorstep? I have to be something else.'
I held out my hand to bring her own to my lips. Chivalry. It got to any woman. "Actually, Miss Amane, I'm a college student here on business. My name is Mathew, and I want to realize my dream to become a magazine journalist. I was very much hoping that you would help me and be my muse for a report. I've been following your work and thought you would make a great assignment. Plus, it helps that my professor is your biggest fan. So, will you please help out a lowly student to achieve his dreams?"
Hook, line, and sinker. She was blushing profusely and hiding her eyes from my own. Her little body guard seemed rather impressed, to say the least.
"Well, I guess I could answer a few questions. But not for long. I'm not one to give into temptation, you should know. And I doubt my Light would want me talking to another man."
"Man? Me? I'm a boy in comparison. You are a woman, who needs no other 'man' I her life."
It may sound cheap to you, but to someone as ditsy as her, it was all too perfect.
She invited me in right away and the three of us, with this Motchi watching me intently, made our way to the living room. I could already tell Mello was in the apartment. The smell of his chocolate hung in the air. I doubted this girl could smell it like I could, but I'd become so accustomed to his smell that just being away from it was noticeable. I suppose he'll be working fast though, so I had to be prepared and keep Motchi in my sights.
When we sat down I took off my warm vest to be more comfortable. I'd also brought out my cell phone to record her voice, just to make this more believable.
"Forgive me for not writing this down, but my handwriting is atrocious to say the least. My professor calls me 'Chicken-Scratch' as a nickname."
"Oh, no worries!" She said happily. "Now, what do you want to know?"
"For starters, I would like to know how you came into modeling."
"Well that's easy! I started in beauty pageants when I was really young, like when I was…"
And the night continued on. Seriously, listening to this girl and pretending to be interested was the biggest chore of my life. She managed to not only make me want to shoot myself, but I had to stop myself from slamming my head against the coffee table. There was nothing I could do, but sit there… and endure.
Even Motchi – who she'd told me later was named Mogi – was trying not to look annoyed. Thankfully, he never left the room, or her side, for anything. Which meant Mello had plenty of time to bug the place. I thought I'd even caught a glimpse of him, but I may have just been wish thinking again. I like to personally think that he took his time just to annoy the hell out of me, because no human being should be able to talk as much as she did.
My night was almost over now. "And finally, how has your love-life been? I believe you've been with someone for a few years now. You've broken many a heart with this."
Motchi seemed more than skeptical of this question, but Amane didn't mind too much.
"Oh, I know. But Light's the only man for me! Although, I do wish he were home more."
"Aww," I feigned empathy. "That's not right. He should treat you like a princess and come home every day just to be able to see you."
"You think? But he's so busy…"
"Well, so is my partner. He always was. But he's always happy to see me when I get home, and I'm always happy to have him around."
The bubbly blonde squealed a bit. "You have a boyfriend!? That's so cute!"
Motchi seemed to relax at this. Maybe Light had put him here… or something. Or maybe it just made me look less guilty.
I tried my best to hide the blush. Mainly because I never referred to Mello as my boyfriend. He was just… my partner.
That I liked… a whole lot… and we sometimes kissed.
Dear lord, he is my boyfriend.
"I… don't talk about it much." I veered away. "We kinda only just started out anyway…"
"But it sounds like you've known him for a while. So, why all of a sudden the change of pace?"
"Well… I…."
"And why not start sooner? Do you have a picture?! Do your parents approve?"
I began to lose my confidence in my part to this now. I didn't think for a second that I'd be able to get out of the questioning stare she was giving me until…
A loud crash sounded from the kitchen and Motchi went running. I thought for sure Mello would get caught until he came back, ever so calmly, and informed that it had just been a fallen pan that had made the noise.
I took this as my cue to leave. It had to be Mello's signal.
"Well, I thank you for inviting me into your home, but it's getting late and I need to start on the paper tonight." I kissed Amane's hand once more after collecting my things. "Thank you, my lady for answering my questions. My professor should be most pleased."
As I exited the apartment, I heard the bubbly blonde cry out to me.
"Goodbye Mathew! Say hello to your boyfriend for me!"
'Please lord, don't let Mello hear that.' I inwardly begged.
I waved back at her as I made my way back to my car. Once I'd gotten into the driver's seat, I noticed my blonde companion sitting there waiting for me. He had a sort of cheeky grin on his face that only spelled disaster.
'Thank you lord, for never hearing my prayers.' I thought bitterly.
That grin only got worse when he started crawling ever so closer to me, causing me to back up into my door until I couldn't back up anymore. His chocolate breath sent shivers down my spine as he got closer to my ear. He'd put one hand on my leg and another on my waist to keep me still as he got closer to me. It was beginning to become harder to breathe with every movement he made. Considering he wasn't the one to 'initiate' anything, I feared whatever thoughts were whirling through his mind. And now that he had me pinned, I only dared to think of what he may do with me now.
His hand on my leg, and lips to my ear, he whispered. "You're adorable when you blush." Then backed away swiftly.
I almost fainted right there. I thought for sure he'd do a least something to me. Instead, the worst thing he could do, he'd done. Left me to suffer with my own sinful thoughts.
I sat up a bit and leaned into my chair. Now feeling more annoyed than I had with the Amane girl.
"You really don't play fair."
"That's for kissing her hand. Twice."
"I was being a gentleman. And by the way, I mentioned to her that I had a boyfriend."
"Yes, I know. Though you didn't say that I was, in fact, your boyfriend."
'Dear Lord, but I did just say it now.' I thought as I slammed my head into the wheel.
Mello put a hand on my back. "What a fool you are."
"To have fallen for you, I couldn't be anything but."
