"Morning." Nick told her cheerfully the next morning.

"Morning." She mumbled.

"Didn't sleep well last night?" Nick guessed, judging from the tone of her voice.

"No, I slept fine." She told him.

"Then what's wrong?" He asked.

"It's nothing."

"It's something." Nick argued.

"Nothing's wrong, other than the fact that my husband totally brushed me off last night. Of course how can I blame you? I look like a hippo." She said as tears filled her eyes again.

"First of all, you most certainly do not look like a hippo, you are completely gorgeous and you know I think that about you, and secondly what do you mean I brushed you off?"

"Last night, I started romantically kissing you and you just kissed my cheek and rolled over and went to sleep."

"Honey I'm sorry, I was so exhausted last night I didn't even notice. That double kicked my butt and it was a tough case, it involved a child, but that is no excuse for hurting your feelings, I honestly didn't even realize what I did, I am so sorry." He told her sincerely as he leaned over and gave her a sweet kiss on the lips.

"Thank you, I accept your apology. I normally wouldn't have gotten so upset but at the moment I'm a hormonal mess." She confessed.

"I understand." He told her with a smile as he grabbed her hand and gently squeezed it.

"Thanks." She replied.

"You know Jacks, we could finish what you started last night, I'm well rested now." He told her with a grin.

"Sorry hon, but I can't this morning, I'll be late for work." She said.

"Ok, then how about tonight after the kids go to sleep?" He suggested.

"It's a date." She agreed.

"Good." He said before he leaned over and kissed her lips.

I can't wait for tonight. Jackie thought to herself as she got up to get ready for work.

The End!
