Sorry for the long wait. I had no idea how to continue this story. Also, sorry if the story gets weird. I was really stuck, and this was the only good idea I could think of. Also, the Dark Forest is made-up. I do not own Sofia The First.
To all who read this fanfiction when I put the wrong chapter in, I'm sorry.
James and Sofia explained what had happened to the headmistresses. They tried to hide their fear so they do not scare the children.
"So she's back," Merryweather said after the children finished their story. "We should have known she wouldn't leave peacefully."
"Is there any way to change me back?" Sofia asked.
"We'll try," Miss Flora said. She waved her magic wand and cast a reversal spell. Unfortunately, it did not work. The fairies tried to do the spell together, but it did not work.
"I'm sorry, Sofia," Miss Flora said. "Her magic became too powerful."
"There has to be something you can do," James said.
The fairies thought for a minute. "There is one thing that may help," Miss Fauna said. "In a cave in the Dark Forest, there is a gem that can undo any spell that was cast."
"But the forest is pretty dangerous," Miss Fauna warned. "You should tell your parents and your Royal Sorcerer about it so they can help."
Sofia and James heard about the Dark Forest before. Almost everyone has heard rumors about it. Apparently, there were giant, frightening creatures roaming around, and there was a spell on it that blocked the light from the sun, making the forest dark no matter when. It was a mystery how anything could grow there. Everyone was afraid of it.
"O.K," James said. He looked at Sofia. "Well, I guess we should wait for our parents to get here. They should be coming any time now."
"O.K," Sofia said.
"Sorry we couldn't be more help," Miss Flora said.
"That's O.K," James said. "We know what to do now."
"Maybe one of us should wait with you in case she comes back," Miss Merryweather suggested. "If she's doing this for revenge, then she could easily come for you, James."
"We'll be fine," James said. He quickly pulled Sofia out of the room and ran. He noticed that Miss Fauna was chasing them, but he quickly lost the headmistress and found a hiding spot.
"Why didn't you accept the fairies' offer?" Sofia asked. "Miss Nettle could still be here. She may not have believed me when I said I was here alone."
"You don't want to worry our parents, do you?" James asked.
"Well, no," Sofia said. "But the fairies said that we'd need help to go into the forest, and I heard scary stories about there. I think we should wait and ask for help."
"Think about Amber," James said. "You saw how she reacts when something scares her, and seeing you like this would scare her a lot."
"I guess," Sofia said. "And if we told, we'd have to tell about Miss Nettle, which could cause more worry."
"Exactly," James said. "We have to fix this.''
"But how?" Sofia asked. "Wouldn't our parents worry if we don't meet them at the carriage when they come."
James thought for a moment. "I have an idea," James said. "When the carriage comes, I'll go and say I'll be at Zandar's place and that you forgot to tell them that you had a sleepover with Ruby and Jade tonight. Then, we can go to the forest alone."
"I don't know," Sofia said. "I don't like lying, especially to our parents."
"It's the best plan," James argued. "We'll reverse the spell and our family won't worry."
"I guess," Sofia said. "But if we can't undo the spell, we'll go home and explain everything."
James nodded. "O.K," he said.
Just then, the carriage pulled up. James left the hiding place. The driver was in the carriage, and so was his parents.
"Where's Sofia?" Queen Miranda asked.
"Don't you remember?" James asked. "She had a sleepover at Ruby's house tonight,"
"Weird," Queen Miranda said. "I must have forgotten about it. Well, come on, James."
"Actually, Zandar invited me to his house for the night," James said. "Can I go?"
"I don't know," King Ronald said. "It's rather last minute."
"Please," James said. "He said he'd teach me some magic carpet tricks. I love magic carpets."
The King sighed. "O.K," he said. "But try to give me some more notice in the future, O.K?"
"Promise," James said.
The King nodded and looked at the coachman. "I guess it's time to go, then. See you tomorrow, James."
"See you," James said.
The parents left and James ran back to where Sofia was hiding. "It's clear," he said. "Let's go."
Sofia nodded and followed James towards the Dark Forest. I'm lying to my parents for a good reason, she told herself. I just hope the Dark Forest isn't as bad as everyone says.

Meanwhile, Miss Fauna went back to the fairies. "I couldn't find them," she said.
"Maybe they met up with their parents and got help for the spell like we suggested," Miss Merryweather said.
Miss Flora thought for a moment. "Then why would James run out of here with Sofia if they were doing what we asked them to?" She asked.
"Maybe they just wanted to wait by themselves," Miss Fauna said. "They might have wanted to plan how they'd tell their parents."
"Maybe you're right," Miss Flora said. "but I have the suspicion that they're up to something. Maybe we should go to their castle to make sure."
Miss Fauna and Miss Merryweather nodded, and they went towards the castle.
