Hey ladies! I am so sorry! School has been absolutely crazy this year! But I only have 26 more days, so there will be more to come! Thank you for sticking by and continuing to follow my story! Much love xoxoxo ~K

"Be really quiet, don't slam the door. My mace gun is in my car, let me grab it, and then we will go check it out." Leland says as he tries to see if there is anyone outside. He quietly opens the door and gets out of the car; he comes around and opens my door so it will be quiet. We walk over to his hummer hand in hand. He slowly opens his trunk and reaches in for his mace. I start to walk slowly up to my front door, but Leland is fast and caught up with me quickly, he made sure he used his body to protect me from whoever was in my house. We got up to the door and he whipped around the corner pointing his gun in every direction before motioning me in. I have to say it was kind of hot to watch him. We got close to the kitchen; we heard noises like glass hitting glass and noticed there was a little light shining. Whoever it was must have been hungry since they were digging around in my fridge. Leland rounded the corner point the mace in the direction of the fridge; I followed close behind with my hand on his back.

"Don't move a muscle or I will shoot." His voice was low and dangerous. Almost scary. I looked at the figure standing in the door of my fridge and noticed the hair. The long dark auburn hair. Hair that was the same color and length as mine.

"Wait Leland, stop. I know her, put the mace down." I said as I stepped out around him and flicked the kitchen light on. It was her. I couldn't believe it. Last time I saw her she was walking out the door, leaving me and her one week old baby behind. It was my mother.

"Mom... What are you doing here?" I say as she turns around and I am able to take in her appearance for the first time in four years.

"Oh my gosh. Look at you, my girl. You've gotten so beautiful, so grown up." She said with tears in her eyes. I hadn't seen her looking like this in years. Her hair was freshly washed and full, instead of stringy and greasy. She was clean and had makeup on, instead of a face full of dirt and oil. Her clothes were clean and fit her well, instead of ripped, baggy clothes that no longer fit her because of the consent weight loss from the ice. She wasn't pale and deathly skinny anymore, she looked radiant and healthy.

"Mom, what… What happened to you? You look so… so healthy." I stammer over my words, fighting the tears that were threatening my eyes.

"Yes, baby. I haven't been on ice for almost a year now. I was hoping you still lived in Pearl City, but the neighbors told me you took Gabby and moved away right after I left. I started looking for you as soon as I got out of rehab. I was there for a little over six months. I really have changed this time. And if you don't believe me you can talk to my Pastor, I've been going to church, and I have a job, even my own apartment. If you'll give me a chance I promise I will prove to you I am different, I will try my best to make up for lost time with both of you. Just please, please give me one more chance." She begged as tears streamed down her face.

"Of course, mom. You don't know how long I have waited for you to come back. I never blamed you, I blamed the ice and the men you dated. As for going to rehab, that was a big step, and I'm sorry I couldn't be there to help you through that, but it was a big step in the right direction. I would love if you would come over and see Gabby tomorrow; we can have lunch and maybe go to the beach or something. We have a lot of catching up to do." I was crying as I went over and embraced my mom for the first time since I was 16 years old. After we broke apart and laughed at each others' smeared makeup, I remembered Leland was still here.

"Leland, baby. I want you to meet my mom." I said as I held my hand out to him, he walked over with a smile on his face as he placed his hand in mine.

"Hey, I'm Genevieve, Grace's mom." My beautiful momma said as she stuck her hand out to shake his.

"Hi, nice to meet you Genevieve, I'm Leland. So I'm starting to see a common theme here with the G's huh?" He said as they shook hands, all of us laughed.

"Yes, I don't know why I did it. It just happened I guess." My mom said as she looked at me and ran her hand down my cheek. I leaned into her hand, happy to have a mother's touch.

We all sat in the living room and talked for a while, I sat on the couch facing my mom and Leland sat on the stool across from both of us and held my hand. Then I realized I had a question I was seriously curious about.

"Uh.. Mom how exactly did you get in my house?" I laugh and kind of giggle.

"Yeah I was beginning to wonder that too." Leland chuckled too.

"Well, I came here hoping you were home, but then I realized it was late so I was just going to leave but then I thought maybe you weren't here, so I decided I would wait for you. I was just sitting with my back against the door thinking about how bad I had to pee when I saw your spare key hanging out from your mat, and I couldn't help it, I had to pee real bad, so I came in and I was just going to grab a drink and go back outside when you guys walked in." We were all laughing at her. When I looked over at the clock and realized it was almost three o'clock in the morning.

"As much as l love this, it is almost three am and Leland here has to work tomorrow, today technically. And if you want to come hang out with us tomorrow then I gotta get some sleep cause Gabbers will be up pretty early and I have to pick her up before the Chapman's go out on their bounty of the day." I say as I stand up and stretch which brings on one of the biggest yawns ever.

"Yeah I agree sweetie, what time do you want me here tomorrow?" My mom asks as she stands and starts walking towards the door.

"Do you have a phone? I will call you when I get Gabby if you do, but if not let's say noonish?" I smile at Leland as he also starts toward the door with my hand still in his.

"I have a phone but noon sounds great. I will give you my number tomorrow. I'm not a hundred percent sure what it is." We all laugh as mom opens the door and steps out.

"Do you need a ride Genevieve?" Leland asks sweetly.

"Oh no thank you honey, I live just down the street and to the right." My mom beams at me as she reveals the fact that she lives less than a mile away from me.

"Oh that's fantastic, I didn't realize you would be so close!" I say as I hug my mom goodbye.

"Yeah, I'm glad you're excited about it. Well I love you sweetie and I can't wait to see my two beautiful girls tomorrow, hey you know what? How about we have dinner tomorrow night at my house, and Leland you and you're family come too, I would love to meet them!" Mom says as she squeezes me extra tight.

"Yeah, alright that sounds great! We will be there say 6:30?" Leland says as he releases my hand and steps toward my mom.

"Yes, that would be perfect." My mom smiles as they hug each other.

"Bye sweetheart, love you see you tomorrow!" Mom says as she walks down the walk way to the silent street.

"Bye love you too!" I yell back to her, and then I turn to Leland. "It's really late; I think you should just stay with me for the night. I mean after all its passed three now. "I smile shyly at him through my eyelashes.

"Yeah I wouldn't mind if I do." Leland mummers back as he hooks his thumb beneath my chin and pulls me up in to a soft sweet kiss.
