Aomine's eyes flew open and he sat up, his face drenched. He was greeted with Kagami's frustrated expression and an upturned water bottle.

Oh great.

"Ahomine! If you're sick then just say so!"

He had passed out.

"Jeez, you aren't even that feverish! It was dehydration! You should know better you idiot!"

As Kagami continued to nag at him about health and the responsibilities of an athlete, Aomine stopped listening and his mind started to wander.

He stared at Kagami's lips as they moved.

Damn, he wanted to feel them against his own.

Without bothering to think twice, Aomine reached an arm up and grabbed the front of Kagami's shirt. Ignoring the confused expression he was rewarded with, he pulled Kagami closer and closer.

Kagami finally seemed to realize what was happening and turned bright red, but he had no time to protest.

Aomine gave one final pull and sealed their lips.

It was hot, the sun beating down on them, and Kagami's lips were salty with sweat from playing. Aomine groaned and grabbed Kagami's head with both hands, pulling his face as close as possible.

Kagami had frozen initially, but quickly relaxed and begun returning the kiss. After some time had passed, they separated their lips to breathe.

Their faces remained close and Aomine stared into Kagami's eyes, looked for any trace of reluctance.

He found none.

Kagami started to move himself closer, one of his arms knocking over the empty water bottle in the process.

The resulting noise made them freeze as they were brought back to their senses.

Aomine's face reddened when he realized what he had just done.

They were in a public court.

Public.

Which meant that anyone could have seen them.

Kagami seemed to be having the same realization. He quickly stood up and wiped his mouth with the neck of his shirt, averting his eyes from Aomine's stare.

"You're not feeling well so I'll make sure you get home."

"Huh?"

"I said I'm taking you home!"

Aomine got up, head still a little fuzzy, and waited as Kagami picked up his stuff. The fuzziness was probably half from the heat and half from that kiss.

Damn, he wanted to do that again.

He was brought back into reality when Kagami thwacked his shoulder to get his attention.

"Lets go."

Getting Aomine home proved to be a little more difficult than anticipated. Even though he had properly hydrated the idiot before they left the court, Aomine was sick and the suffocating heat wasn't helping their progress.

Well, there was that.

There was also another problem.

Kagami couldn't get the feeling of Aomine's lips out of his mind.

He was experiencing firsthand that kissing and getting kissed were two very different experiences.

It was an uncomfortable feeling, this desire that curled up in his chest and squeezed his lungs, making it a challenge to breathe.

Aomine stopped walking and leaned up against a lamppost, taking a drink out of Kagami's water bottle. A small stream escaped his lips and trickled down his neck.

Kagami stared at it.

His mouth went dry.

It was the heat. This was all due to the heat.

Kagami frantically repeated those words in his mind for the rest of the walk.

It was all due to the heat.

Why else would he be constantly reminding himself that they were in public?

Aomine almost sobbed with relief when they finally arrived at his house and the air-conditioning washed over them.

His head really hurt.

That walk had been hell. The heat needed to go die in some godforsaken hole and the sun needed to calm the hell down.

Aomine walked to his room, barely noticing that Kagami was trailing behind him. He flopped down on his bed and groaned.

It felt so nice to lie down.

He rolled around a bit before looking back up at Kagami, who was standing there awkwardly. Aomine held out his arms and grinned.

"Kagami! Sleep with me! They always say that sweating it out is best for a fever!"

Aomine grinned even more as Kagami jumped and his face turned red at the half-assed implication.

"Sleep on your own Ahomine!"

"But I'm sick!"

"So what?!"

"Pamper me!"

Kagami picked up a magazine from the floor, rolled it up, then whacked Aomine on the head with it.

"Ow! That hurts! What the hell Bakagami!?"

"It's your own damn fault! Shut up and get some rest! I'm borrowing your kitchen!"

Kagami stormed out of the room, angry and flustered, as Aomine lay there holding his head.

Shit, that really did hurt.

Kagami hadn't given him any mercy.

Aomine shut his eyes and made himself comfortable. The minutes ticked by as he lay there, trying to relax his body.

It wasn't working.

Sure, he was exhausted, but his body was still worked up.

He couldn't calm down.

Kagami stared into the empty void of Aomine's fridge.

Nothing.

There was nothing.

Well, nothing apart from some salad dressings and a block of old, stinky cheese.

Kagami was once again reminded of how incompetent Aomine was when left to his own devices in a kitchen. Thankfully, there was a large bag of rice in one of the cupboards. Kagami quickly set about preparing it.

The only problem with rice was how long it would take. After setting Aomine's rice steamer up, Kagami found himself with a lot of extra time until it finished. With nothing else to do, he made his was back to Aomine's room.

Kagami walked in and was greeted with a rather interesting sight.

Aomine had wound himself up in some kind of blanket cocoon with only his head poking out.

It was rather hilarious to see.

His skin contrasted sharply with the beige blankets and made the entire thing resemble a chocolate filled cornet.

Ah, those are delicious.

Kagami made himself a mental note to make some when he got home.

He carefully picked his way across the sea of clutter and placed his hand on Aomine's forehead.

He still had a fever, but it was nothing that some rest wouldn't take care of.

Kagami sat down so that his back rested against the side of the bed and picked up one of the basketball magazines on the floor.

It would still be some time before the rice was done.

Aomine peeped out of his blankets.

Kagami was still there and showed no signs of moving anytime soon.

Suddenly, an idea hit him.

Aomine suppressed the evil grin that tried to worm its way onto his face. Yawning and scratching his face, he started moving his body a little, making it look like he had just woken up.

Kagami put the magazine down and turned around at the noise.

"Kagamiiii…"

Aomine made his voice as pitiful as he possibly could.

"Kagamiii… My head huuurts…"

Kagami quickly got up, frowning, and leaned over to check his temperature. Before he could do anything, Aomine grabbed onto his wrist.

Kagami's eyes flew open in shock as Aomine somehow managed to drag him onto the bed so that they ended up lying side by side.

"Oi! What the hell?!

Aomine moved himself so that he was lying partially on top of Kagami, preventing any escape.

Bingo! Target captured.

"Shut up, you're warm."

With that, Aomine buried his face in the crook of Kagami's neck, despite the complaints still spewing out of the other's mouth, and inhaled.

That addictive smell flooded his senses and he finally felt himself relax.

It was so comfortable.

Kagami quieted down after a bit and stopped trying to escape, probably realizing that there was no way in hell Aomine was letting him go anywhere.

Aomine let his breathing deepen as the exhaustion finally overwhelmed him.

A smile flickered across his lips as he felt Kagami pat his head, searching for his forehead to check his temperature.

Kagami was definitely the best medicine he could get and the only kind he needed.
