Rarity stayed with Twilight the rest of the night, taking the liberty of sleeping on her couch. The couch smelled a lot like Fluttershy's cottage which was the smell of dirty animals, scented candles and flowers. The rest of Twilight's house smelled of old books, paper, dust and for whatever reason, slightly metallic. Rarity couldn't sleep so instead she simply played with her mane, loosening the curls, trying new styles as she waited for Twilight to begin stirring in her sleep. Rarity examined herself in Twilight's mirror. Her reflection looked back at her with the usual modest smile, dapper hair and beautiful eyes. There was a hint of grey under her eyes but she knew make-up would cover it up.

Twilight's mirror had a few cracks in it which came from the corner. She wasn't sure how they got there, but was sure Twilight didn't know either. On Twilight's dresser, which was attached to the mirror had a hair brush (which was covered in hair), a picture of Twilight with all her friends. They were all hugging each other with smiles on their faces. With Rarity's magic she picked up the picture.

Rarity's blue eyes began to water at the sight of everypony in the picture being so happy. Twilight looked beautiful in this picture, her mane was kept and straight, her coat was clean and she had a smile. She turned to the clock. It was 2:00 in the morning so she decided just to go home. She put a pillow behind Twilight's back to make sure she didn't roll over then left. She had the picture with her, levitating it in front of her face as she walked out the door.

Rarity walked outside Twilight's house as she gave the picture on last look over. "Doesn't she look darling..." Rarity said to herself. "She does, doesn't she?" said a voice. Rarity turned her head, letting out a tiny gasp in fright. She quickly calmed down when she saw who it was. Princess Luna stood next to her, standing tall and elegant. Her starry mane was waving like always and the light of the moon complimented her face. "Oh Princess Luna!" Rarity said before instantly bowing her head.

Princess Luna looked down to the picture of Twilight and her friends, holding her hoof out, "May I?" she said as she took the picture into her hoof. She examined it and smiled. "Twilight Sparkle had much potential. It was the demon of experiment that scorned her like this," she turned her head and looked to Twilight's house.

"Oh Princess, you mustn't say such things, I'm positive she will get better!" Rarity almost snapped back. Once she noticed how much she raised her voice she stepped back and lowered her head, "Do forgive me for me outburst Princess..."

Princess Luna raised an eyebrow but didn't respond. She raised her head to the moon and spread her wings, "I am the Princess of the night, I guard those who need me. My dear sister is resting now, getting ready to prepare to raise the sun. I want to apologize for not being here for Twilight Sparkle. You are a good friend, Rarity"

Rarity enjoys any type of praise she can get. Rarity smiled and nodded her head as a thank you. Princess Luna was beautiful. She is always beautiful but tonight of all nights, the glimmer of her mane shined brighter than the moon itself. The silence was broken once more by Luna's elegant yet deep voice, "And I want to apologize in advance for what will come of this..." and with that Luna spread her large wings and flew, so high she was only a dot, then nothing.

Rarity's eyes squinted and she looked down at the ground trying to figure out what she meant.
